Bought a pot of beer first time an the class size is smaller wow tastes ok but I'm hoping a scooter class is still a scooter size lol

I visited the Rex recently and Dhruv's service was outstanding. The venue is also at a good location as it's close to the beach!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Walked in tonight, being Fathers Day evening, with my family to have a quick drink. The barman, and I use the term loosely, had the worst attitude I have experienced in many years. His body language and level of rudeness was out of this world. When I called him out on his bad service and asked for the manager, he refused to serve me. I waited a little while until it became evident that he wasn't calling the manager and decided to leave.
Any future patrons, please keep away from this establishment and give your business to other more worthy establishments who will welcome your custom. To the owners/managers, I suggest you address these issues promptly as staff like this are extremely bad for your business and certainly don't deserve to draw a wage.

Some are ok but face it. You hire anyone you can, because let's face it😅😂🤣 the staff aren't trained for Port Melbourne.

Atmosphere is ok, but the English bald dude you hired takes life way too hard. Needs to smile more. Makes the atmosphere lacking for sure. Service is rated from the other staff members.

Didn't get food. Only reason for 3* on food. 1* to venue. Staff members butt in when not needed. Talking to friends isn't ok here.

Joking around or having fun is a no go. They will ask you to leave most likely. (before they call the police? What the actual. Ya know)

But their $4 sandwiches kinda do earn the 3*

Worst customer service I've ever seen, been going here 17 years, has been a change of staff and management of late and the care factor of staff towards patrons now is Zero! Would love to see the friendliness that brought me here to start with as well as the efficient service I once admired. Now I can wait long periods with no one acknowledging me and serving me. POOR FORM!

This place feels like a pub should, I had a few well priced pints with some old friends, played some pool. 2nd time I've been there and likely will be our meeting point for a late night session in Melbourne going forward.

Old school pokies & TAB for those who aren't fans of the modernised, sometimes almost space-themed, refurbished joints with not a single ye olde, $1 coin paying machine...

Great place for passing through.....doesn't serve food as in meals as no kitchen, so good for TAB, pokies, drink and game of pool

The Rex is only good because of the staff, the manager Andrew is just amazing aswell as all of the other staff that serve me everytime I'm here. Fairly priced drinks but top notch service. Nothing fancy but just what you want from a pub, good service and fair prices!

We love Tracy x if you enjoy a punt and a pint that's the place to be .

I'm very unhappy with how the staff the Rex currently employs. They were very rude to me at closing time, I asked if I could finish my drink. The staff member threw up their hands and said 'how long will you take 3 hours, 4 hours!'. It was 12.03 and people were still playing pokies. I was shocked at how rude and aggressive this person was to me. No respect for the customer. Shameful!!

I just witnessed an elderly gentleman, after showing his proof of vaccination in paper format, turned away from The Rex, Port Melbourne. He was at yelled at by a staff member at the door and told to go and buy a phone. ONLY people with smart phones are allowed here. I would not go to The Rex if my life depended on it. Melbourne gone mad !!

Staff are very non existing.

The Rex is a great place to go to for a beer or to play the pokies. The staff are very friendly and helpful when needed.
I would highly recommend The Rex to everyone.

Old fashioned hotel without the old fashioned Service. The Tab area of the hotel has very poor customer service , if there is an issue they won't try and help .
