Took some family and friends over here for the Matilda's game and they setup a special area outside for us that had stadium sound and a great atmosphere. The pizzas were perfect, the chicken wings were hoovered up quick smart. Kate, Molly and Will really made it a fantastic night. We haven't been back to the tavern again and after last night, it is going to be a regular again for us.

Visited this pub last night and I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience. The service was nothing short of terrible, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, my party and I were excited to enjoy a nice meal. However, our excitement quickly turned into frustration as we waited an astonishing 30 minutes for our food to arrive. At that point, we decided to check with the waitress for an update, and she casually mentioned that it would be ready in 5-7 minutes.

10 minutes later, we approached the waitress again, only to be given yet another time estimate of 7 more minutes. To our disbelief, even after waiting for a full hour, our food still hadn't been served, while other patrons around us were already enjoying their meals.

Frustrated, we decided to express our dissatisfaction to the staff. The manager, who finally came over, told us that he had been busy washing dishes and tried to shift the blame onto the kitchen staff. This complete lack of accountability and customer service was truly disappointing.

As a customer, I expect reasonable waiting times and honest communication from the restaurant staff. Unfortunately, this place failed to meet such a basic expectations.

Just the hearty pub food we were looking for. Visited on a quiet saturday lunch where there was plenty of parking. We sat ourselves on the picnic tables outside, ordered at the bar, quoted our table number and the friendly staff was very kind to answer our questions about the menu. Ordered a jug of coke from the bar. Not long after, our fresh hot food was given and it was lovely. This would be a bustling place in the evening, but had a nice quiet ambience at lunch. Would come back again!

Not too bad, a lot of menu items were unavailable unfortunately. The food was pretty average but service was really good.

Visited Castle Hill Tavern on a Friday May evening.
Families with young children and 3 generations were sitting together which was nice to see.
The crowd of people sat outside which left the bar area inside quite quiet!
The bar area has a range of seating, taller and regular tables. Spacious seating and upgraded amenities.
The food was quite good for pub category food.
Ordered the Grazier slow-cooked Beef Pie which was delectable. Tender chunks of beef in the pie with a side of mash potatoes, onion rings, topped with gravy and green peas for colour contrast ?. The tomato relish flavour with the pie was a perfect match.
Also ordered the Tav cheeseburger???" which came with a side of crunchy fries, asked for sweet chilli sauce for dipping ?.
Was able to sit and do work uninterrupted!

First time. Great good and good service (if a little slow as it was not busy). We had the chicken BLT which was great - well worth the $15. Will remember this one next we are in the area.

The Buffalo Wings were nothing like buffalo wings - sweet, not spicy, tiny, and mostly breading that tasted disgusting. The Calamari and Chips came with garlic mayo instead of tartare sauce. The only food I enjoyed was the Cheesy Garlic Bread although it could be better with less butter. The food quality declined so much since we ate here for the first time in 2018.

I went to tavern on Thursday for lunch before going i saw a special in the negotiator the add read THURS RUMP 200g $15.00 so when i went to the bar to order my meal i showed the manager the add .He stated this only apply s to dinner he pointed in the direction of a wall that showed i similar add stating Thursday dinner i said it didn't state that on this add and would not honor deal so all our group will not be going back to castle hill tavern. Well done to the manager that has now lost 8 to 10 customers.

I am aware VOUCHERS have scissor cutout template. I was referring to your ADVERTISEMENT, (as I CLEARLY STATED in my comment) which CLEARLY says "THURS RUMP" "$15.00", there is NO MENTION of this being for Thursday evening ONLY. The only way to discover this is an "Evening only offer" is to see Poster in Tavern. I feel this advert is extremely miss-leading designed to get people into Tavern, where they will then end up buying something else and spending more money than they intended. If you are going to respond to this comment please ensure you respond to my "ACTUAL" complaint. Your response DID NOT answer MY complaint as I never said I had a voucher I only referred to the ADVERT!

Had a party of 9 last night so we ordered a lot off the menu to share. BEST: Chicken schnitzel, buffalo wings, pizzas, BBQ pork ribs. Not so great: seafood basket (everything was a bit overfried); and beef nachos but that's because the tortilla chips becomes a soggy mess with how it's presented (keep it on the side, maybe?). Drinks are good. Avoid the squishy booths; book proper tables. Kitchen closes around 8.

Lovely food, Best nasi goreng I have had. Good size portion value for the money.

Food was okay, great combinations with the schnitzels. Nachos good, a tad too many jalapenos. Service requires a little fine tuning- order was lost for half the group on same table (ordered in 2 separate payments). Check your order, ask for a receipt.

Went here Saturday evening and there a number of people eating. We ordered the rump steak but were given the tbone steak. It was also not cooked properly, wherein some parts were well done while some parts were medium rare. We also checked the bill and noticed that the drinks were billed twice, so make sure you ask for the bill to be sure you pay for what you asked.

This would have been a 5 star review, up until I was sitting down in the bistro eating my fabulous Chicken BLT and what I can only assume to be a female manager standing in the kitchen arguing loudly with the chef about boxes in the cool room. I couldn't hear what the chef was saying back as he was much quieter speaking, I wasn't the only person in the bistro, however there was only 3 other tables occupied so we could all hear her and this makes for an uncomfortable experience. Her tone and volume was unpleasant and unnecessary during a lunch period at the front of house. All other staff I interacted with were lovely.

Great spot for a cool beer and a meal. Beer of the month pints $6.50 and the food is excellent. Service is fantastic and Tash is a super star

Went there for Christmas lunch. What a great effort they made! So much food we couldn't eat it all - staff were great. They even gave gifts to the kids that were excellent! Very impressed and thankful for the staff working on Christmas Day to take care of us. Thank you.

Enjoyed a few beers with work colleagues in the beer garden. Steak was perfectly cooked and everyone's was happy with there meals. We will be back. ??'?

Had a short stop here to enjoy a light meal in open area. The food was delicious and customer service was interesting. Great helpful staff!

We held a last minute kids 1st birthday today. We hadn't been to the venue in years so we didn't know what to expect. Ee were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service by the staff. The manager on duty today went above and beyond to ensure our guests were catered for and happy. I've actually never had better service while hosting a party at a pub. So happy about the experience and so were our family and friends. We will be back for sure. Pizzas and garlic bread were amazing. Thanks to the manager and the chefs on duty today ! ?

Hi Tavern !You always surprise me. Last time the best Nachos, this time the Crispy Salmon with unusually looks colourful warm salad with well balanced ingredients. It's different to other pubs( Salmon ie. with mash / beans, potato etc )Well done again.Compliments to the Chef..

Came in for lunch and the staff made me feel very welcome. Pooja was serving in the bistro and was very informative about the menu. Alison was very accommodating to our needs. Table service was a great surprise too. Meals are great value and big servings. Good variety of wine too!
We will be back!!!

Staff are nice. Food was fine but not particularly special, given the prices. decor is old and the place lacks ambience. Toilets were gross.

Food was good, it was a bit noisy in the bistro. The outside looks old, but the inside was new looking and clean. Plates are were cleared quickly, no plastic straws, good work. COVID safe.

Been coming here for years and love it. Down to earth pub with great food and staff. Always feel welcome and Katie is amazing and is one of the reasons we keep coming back. Hopefully we can get back for a few more functions once things are back to normal. Brett needs to wear his vest more!

Last week I went there with my cousins for dinner. And one of my cousin is highly allergic to seafood. Even a micro traces of seafood could lead to very serious health issues. But the chef took attention to every details that all our food orders are made without any cross contamination with seafood and the foods were very delicious with a lovely and warm service. We left the pub very happily and without any health issues
