Went to the restaurant and had a meal like a top class restaurant would serve. Mustard chicken, rump steak and calamari and salad. The four of us loved our meal and let the chef know how good it was.

The hotel is pretty good however they lacked on cleaning. So much dust in room on vents, windows. Bed was clean and good and the rooms are spacious. The shared kitchen and shared amenities are very good. The drawback for us was lack of warm water to shower. Room had its own shower. This is why we rated it 2 instead of 3.

Stayed here overnight and enjoyed a chicken shnitty and a couple of beers after a hike up from Terrigal. Aidan was very patient with me through some complications with the booking and Bill's charismatic and gregarious persona made me feel very welcome right away.

The room was more than adequate, the service from all staff excellent and the communal kitchen upstairs was very spacious.

Only issues are that the fan didn't work in my room (but there was air-con which was fancy) and the shower head needs its seals replaced.

Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend.

Stayed overnight passing through to Tamworth. Rooms were very clean, had a T.V, Air Conditioning, fan. Very basic, but good value for $89 a night. It is a shared communal bathroom, but that was fine. I also ate down stairs at the bistro, food was good too. Staff service lovely. Would definitely stay again.

I can't comment about the rooms as we did not stay there overnight.
We went there for lunch the food was fresh and well-priced the parking is easy and the Hotel is accessible with wheelchairs.
There's plenty of restrooms and lots of seating inside the eating area, covered outside eating also. Smoking allowed outside.
There's also a Poker Machine area and other type of Tab facilities
The only thing is the children's play area could be updated a bit, but it is fenced and safe.

There's usually a dog at the door who likes pats. Also I won like 8 bucks on the dogs here. Great place if you like dogs.

Had one staff on at night poor guy he was really nice though. Room had aircon that worked cool. No fridge or bathroom toiletry. No cups nothing had to drink from the tap like an animal if your thirsty.

Rooms are neat and tidy. Bathrooms looked recently renovated.
The service was shocking. Rude bar staff and wait times for your meal are EXTREMELY long.

Great meals at reasonable prices...right down to the coffee. The Bar staff and the restaurant staff are always very friendly and helpful. Great place for a girls day out.

Avoid the tacos. Absolute embarrassment to serve these. Everything flavourless - tacos served with plain white rice, guac from a jar, no hot sauce, no seasoning in anything, dried out corn tortillas. Coleslaw with tacos is gross. Also ordered chilli squid, which was barely cooked (batter still pale) and I could count the chilli flakes (not that I could taste them). Pathetic, complete waste of money.

Great simple rooms and clean bathrooms. Staff were accommodating.

Was some loud live music one night, but was respectfully stopped at 11.30pm, leaving plenty of time for sleep.

Great modern hotel with beautifully renovated rooms at a reasonable price. Meals were excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Right in the centre of town. Would stay again when down this way.

Stayed on the weekend. Fantastic room, it was Clean and Bathroom was huuuuuggggeeee!!! Staff were very Friendly. Food was great. Only down fall is car parking was around the back, its not a far walk but when you have luggage and leave early. But overall highly recommend.

Food is really average. Meals here used to be very good but not anymore.The nachos had dry stringy beef with very little cheese or cream. The grilled chicken was tasty but had heaps of baby spinach with very little panacea, pumpkin or asparagus.
Seems like the chef is cutting corners.

Came for lunch and it was delicious. Everyone in this party of 8 enjoyed their meals. Relaxed open setting. Easy parking at the rear.

Staff were fantastic. Alexander Charley attended to our large group. Nothing was too much trouble.
Shame there aren't more like him.
Bistro cooks were great.
Food was lovely and reasonably priced.
Would come back here.

Review for the restaurant:
It was a fairly quiet Sunday evening, a group of family was finishing and there were just 2 tables (Inc ours) that ordered food. Ordered via QR code and waited more than 30mins for food to come. Ok maybe it's due to labour shortage so things are a bit slow.
However, the quality of the food was poor. Ordered $32 medium rare steak, came as well done with dry boiled veges.
Chicken burger was cold, chips weren't hot. Food definitely sat behind the counter for a while.
Was anticipating fresh and hot meals after a long wait but very disappointed.

The Swansea Hotel has a great relaxing atmosphere. The menu has a variety off dishes to choose from at great prices. The food tastes delicious and is value for money.
The staff are polite, friendly and efficient.
Would recommend.

I was at this venue today, I asked for a wi e which was served tome in a dirty glass, I went back and asked for another wine and a barman cleaned it with a dirty teatowel.
We have covid going on and people with the flu and this is not good enough.
We ordered a hamburger and chips, the chips were terrible and cold and the hamburger was not much better, served with soft out of date tomato
We won't be back

The steak was cooked to perfection, salad was crisp and delicious, and chips were done to my taste. In addition, staff are always friendly and professional. Great place to stop for dinner and drink or two.

I'm a local and a regular visitor to Swansea Hotel. I love this hotel for their excellent and friendly service. As soon as I approach the bar a welcoming face is preparing my chosen drink without me even having to ask! Now that is impressive service! Thank you Swansea Hotel!

We were in Swansea for 9 weeks and this was the best food we ate by far..great service friendly staff and the food unreal

Spotlessly clean room & bathroom. Generous with towels: bath, hand & floor towel, & face washer, EACH. LOVE the high 1903 era ceiling.

Great place for late night drinks! And for those that enjoy the pokies. They however do need to increase the ability to make cocktails after they close the main bar section!

Book here at your peril... this is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a lodge in terms of food, accommodation, service and cleanliness. Here are a handful of things that were noticeably disturbing:- Dried bloodstains on the blankets- Carpets were stained with white powder- Mouldy pillowcases- Locks in the shared bathrooms were broken- Shower head was broken- Food was extremely dry, bland and overpriced- The pub downstairs blasts loud music until 4am so dont expect to get any sleepWould not recommend unless you have absolutely nowhere else to stay the night!

Good menu selection, decent prices and comfortable seating. Good for families and small groups. Icy cold drinks.Will return just for their Squid salad .. the best.

Good beer and great service but the rump was a bit tough. Perfectly cooked though.Plenty on taste just let down by the stringiness of the meat.

Great venue in a great location. Super friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Priced well and the kitchen chefs/staff do a great job. Two thumbs up, I'll be back for sure.
