Always a pleasure coming to Sugar Gum. The food and atmosphere are awesome. Just ordered and finished the Texan Parma. What a meal. So tasty and a large serve that I didn't think that I'd finish it but I did. Every meal that I've ordered has been the same from fish with chips to the veal stack to the burgers. Cheers Sugar Gum our go to place for a meal with friends or on our own. It would be nice if they had something like a lentil salad for diabetic diet but still well done. Cheers

While the food and atmosphere at Sugar Gum was good, the service left a lot to be desired. We arrived for our 12.30pm lunch reservation and after 10 minutes of waiting to be seated not one member of staff came near the host stand. There were at least 5 staff behind the bar which was not busy at all, however they completely ignored the growing line of guests waiting to be seated. The dining room at that stage was not even half full.
We ended up checking the reservation list on the host stand ourselves to find our assigned table and then walked through the restaurant until we found our table and seated ourselves.

There is no table service, you have to go to the bar to order food and drinks, but you can't order both together. You have to line up first to order your food and pay for this. Then line up again to order and pay for a drink separately. Both times there was 1 person ahead of me and it still took almost 15 minutes to order my meal and drink.
If this is the standard of service I'd think twice about going back, even though the food was reasonably good.

Today we dined for a Xmas in July lunch. Being a regular we were looking forward to a nice roast lunch, sadly that's not what we received. The vegetables were lovely but the meat was like 3 deli cuts of beef, turkey and ham heated up with some gravy, it was dreadful and very disappointing. Although the pudding was delicious. Stick to the normal menu and don't waste your money.

This place is expansive and is ver good for hosting big groups. Has a good big play area for kids too.

We had our nieces birthday party here and went with 6 families. They reserved a table for us.

The food was beautifully presented, generous portions and really tasty.
The service was prompt.
The only thing I didn't appreciate was that most of the servers (not all) looked unhappy and rushed. They didn't bother to smile. They asked us to pass on the glasses when they were clearing up while we were leaving.

Other than that would definitely go there again.

Food here is excellent. Any issues with dishes are always promptly rectified. Highly recommended

It's very loud. Had the corner room with the booths so it was heaps better in there. Our host Kelly was so sweet.

We had a really good lunch here during Melb Cup day. Food was tasty and service was great. Friendly staff and a nice indoor play area for kids to have fun. We will be back. ☺️

My family and I visited the Sugar Gum Hotel for an afternoon drink + snack.

We ordered some duck spring rolls, chips and mac + cheese croquettes and drinks, all of which were delicious.

Highly recommend.

Great place for families and friends. The food was delicious, and the portions size is good as well. Staff are very friendly. The only issue is the cleaning, must be much better or to be well taking care of it, lot of food on the carpet, tables are little sticky and the menus was not that clean.

The chef should be fired. I am a big fan of pub meals but this was absolutely disgusting. The steak was burnt on the outside especially around the side leaving nothing but that taste throughout my mouth. Asked for medium rare and was medium well done. Chips were flavourless and salad didn't feel crisp more so that it had been left out for 6 hours out of the fridge. Gravy had no flavour and was barely warm.
I had to dip my steak into it in order for me to digest this meal.
As I have now moved recently and this would of been my local can safely say I will never be back. FIRE YOUR HEAD CHEF he doesn't have any passion.
Missus Gnocci was terrible too.
Also I believe that no waiter wanted to come to pick up our plates as I believe they could see me visibly disappointed.

82 dollars is a rip can cook a thousand times better at home. How can you be proud of the bistro.

We came for Father's day, so very busy and probably not representative of every day. There was a small snafu with ordering and the table next to us had their food lodged for our table so the family catch up was interrupted with a lot of food that wasn't ours. However everyone was happy with their food and the kids loved the play area. The staff were very friendly and were able to easily accommodate the pickier eaters in our group. So it was a great day overall.

Had dinner on Saturday night with a large group. Best steak I've had in a very long time. Service was great, staff were friendly, and food came out promptly. Meals are very generous in size, even the porterhouse. Kids play area was sufficient and tables were cleared without staff being asked. Will defs be back. An all-over great experience.

Had lunch today in the hotel. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was beautiful. Good size portions. Don't mind paying for decent food. We had the Hawaiian chicken parmigiana and Texan chicken parmagiana. Definitely will be back.

Your greeted with a very glamorous interior when you enter in with the perfect set lighting for both eating but general dinning. Plenty of seating but do advise the closer to the kids play area the louder it will get. There is outdoor seating as well if you desire fresh air. Adult games area is well kept away from addictive eyes but if you have that problem you will find it no problems. Steam punk look with the bars which are well attended to by staff. Amazing kid area, no need to helicopter parent as they will be fine. The menu is well defined with a great but also not over whelming selection to chose from. Plate sizes could feed an army but wow oh wow is it delicious. Apart from the noise enjoy your meals, definitely worth it.

Plenty of options for different tastes, and generous servings. Very easy to share meals. I particularly enjoyed the salmon and chat potatoes with romesco sauce. Modern pub food with classics and more fancy options. Nice dining room with plants and soft lighting.
Big dessert selection too if you're into that.

Had a lovely meal with friends. Very family orientated with a great play area for kids. Indoor and outdoor seating areas and of course the gaming area for those inclined.
The service is good, can certainly recommend this venue for a pleasant meal out.

Nice and clean. Quite on a Monday lunch which meant the food came out fast.

Couple of people had the beef burgers and the buns were average making the burger hard to eat. All in all the food was all plated up nice and clean and cooked well. What you would expect for a gaming venue.

Popular amongst my family, due to the playground facilities onsite. The food is overpriced for what you're getting and is ok to good, meals are on the larger side though. Staff are friendly, and sometimes a meal is missed, which needs to be followed up.

Haven't been here for years as didn't rate it but really enjoyed the meal and venue. Great food & service could not be faulted. Dining room was really nice and whole venue is contemporary and clean. Will definitely return.

Friendly staff, ordering from the table with the QR code was fun! Unfortunately they had run out of Mac & Cheese but offered to make good with Squid and Prawns which was much more expensive than the Mac & Cheese. We ordered one Schnitzel and one Parmigiana - both were tender and moist with a crunchy coating, the Parmi had delicious ham and cheese. The Squid was cooked perfectly, as was the Prawns with a nice char. The chips were nice and fresh, but unfortunately they only downside were the onion rings, it seemed like they had been cooked a while ago. The décor was nice and pleasant, and the staff checked double vaccination status at the door which was comforting.

Six of us enjoyed "Christmas in July". The service was excellent, as was each course of the festive menu, and the price very good. Just a little too noisy, but will ask for a table away from the playroom next time.

New menu is phenomenal. Have to give a shout out to Jerome for his exceptional hospitality and professionalism. Great pub in the north west!

First time back at Sugargum since being renovated.. Meals were OK.. A bit pricey though.. My grains and chicken was a bit bland.. I will go back again and give it another go. Great family bistro and friendly staff..

Absolutely loved the new renovations. The free pinball machine and pony arcade are awesome too. Best kids play area in the west by a mile

Venue is great, but didn't get much attention for service. Food was also good.They missed the dessert/drink included with children's meal.

My culinary experience today was 5 star. The food was really enjoyed by both myself and client.The attention by service staff was one of the best that I have seen In a pub setting. That started by the manager Gerome who roamed the tables ensuring that the patrons were satisfied, well done.Definitely recommend eating here

Start ro end experience was awesome, Gino helped me to choose the table perfectly suitable to me and even he changed the table on my request... Jerome took my order just as i wanted and did make sure that Chef gets correct message... magic was on my plate when Jerry's, chef, presentable Dish came on my table... looked superb and tasted just what I wanted or more than that... personally I was asked about how I liked it... I simply loved it... last but not least Duty Manager Deb helped me personally to feel better and solve my problem. Overall wonderful time... looking forward to come back with family...
