Very nice old pub with motel rooms out the back. Comfortable rooms at great value and friendly staff. The continental breakfast was excellent.

Good country pub. The prices are a bit up there $18 for a beer and a wine and meals just under 30$ with the obligatory extra fee for the sauce. We had chicken snitzel which was tasty and I overheard a few people who liked the whiting. It's a bit of a shame this place won't allow dogs out on the alfresco considering it's the cooler months and not many people were sitting out there only a couple afl fans.

I'm not normally one to leave negative reviews, but..
We visited down at the caravan park and decided to get takeaway from the here. I called up and ordered off the menu we saw on the website (not knowing it was the out of date menu). During the call she told us that there was a $2 take away charge, not knowing later when picking up the food it was $2 PER MEAL. As we were picking up our food, they were running around trying to find our order. When taking it back to the caravan park, one of our mates ordered 2 King George Whiting worth $33 and no joke the fish were no bigger than 10cm long, with a small scattered handful of chips... Pretty disappointed for such a high tourist area.

At $170 this was slightly on the pricey side for a standard (clean and comfy) room. I got great advice from the guy manning the breakfast service to watch for kangaroos on the road north: as foretold one jumped across the road in front of me but I was going slow enough to avoid it easily - kudos brother!

This was a bit more expensive than my other stays trekking across Australia from West to East ... but worth every penny, a nice indulgent reward for myself. I had parking right out the front of the motel, fabulous views of the bay ... directly opposite, food amazing (some of the freshest oysters I've ever tasted). The bedroom had a mixture of yesteryear and modern, extremely clean, bright and airy. The bathroom was very modern, lovely big double shower ... and the towels what you'd expect of a 5 star luxury motel ... very thick and very large.
Magnificent stay, would highly recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely no help when dining in on my own for work.
Waited for eternity to order a drink by which time my food had appeared at my unattended table.
Staff told me off for taking my table number up to the counter when it is the only way I can avoid patrons from sitting at my table.

Highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and fantastic price. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great choice of meals and reasonable price. I had a steak with garlic prawns cooked to perfection. The view from the hotel is breathtaking.

Had a fantastic chicken schnitzel with gravy and they played country music upon request. Couple this with the fantastic view and ice cold views and I feel like I've entered heaven. 10/5 stars. Incredible

I don't like giving low ratings but have to leave an honest review. The night we went, the food was absolutely terrible. I ordered a seafood platter which is what I do when I'm on the coast. When the meal came out, it looked OK, nothing special but smelt a bit greasy. To be honest, I don't think the seafood was sourced locally because we'd had other seafood in the area and the quality was far superior to this. The calamari tasted a bit funny due to whatever they'd seasoned it in but the worst part was the oysters. After I'd eaten them, I noticed movement from them. On closer inspection, I saw that there were little worms that had come out from the barnacles attached to the underside of the oysters. I though it best to advise the lady at the bar so she could show the chef but she simply binned them and asked me if I wanted replacements! It put me off oysters for quite some time. Given my experience, I could never return there. This happened in 2021.

Good room and shower. The restaurant is also good. We enjoyed the balcony of our upstairs room.

Nice neat room, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. (Lisa was exceptional).Nice high pressure shower. Freshly painted, freshly carpeted. Breakfast included can't go wrong. Thank you very much.

Husband and I came here for their $20 steak night, not expecting too much but we were very surprised at the size and quality of our steaks! Definitely 10/10.

What a great place to stay at. The premise was kept clean & tidy inside & outside. No noise, staff were friendly. Meals were very nice & breakfast included, & great to start the day on. Would highly recommend staying here.

First of all, the room was great and I can recommend the accommodation. However, the restaurant was disappointing. We arrived just as they opened. As we didn't have a reservation, we asked if they have a free table. The answer was yes and we were told to wait one or two minutes, as she had to see where we could sit. So far all good. So we waited longer and longer. Other guests came who didn't have a reservation. They asked the same waiter for a table and were immediately taken to one (we were not a meter from the new guests and the waiter saw us and ignored us). After 20 minutes we left.

Went for Dinner and have to say pretty average and with 2 small whiting fillets for $32 is not great value, pretty rude. Tiny side salad also not value
No oysters available at all
When I asked for a main size calamari as an entree I was told that it could only be served as a main
The food we had was ok at best
Also noted that table beside us ordered garlic prawns at around 730 pm and was told no prawns left

Lovely pub, great location and amazing views. Only pub in town.
Definitely not dog friendly, no dogs on the outdoor decking. Got berated for taking my dog in the drive through on a lease.

Fantastic community run pub. Was busy when we ordered. Great vibe, rad staff, food came out very quickly and were good sized portions. Up there with one of the best Parmies I've had. Thanks for having us.

1 star is being generous for our meals. Partner ordered medium well steak and the garlic sauce tasted like flour and the steak had the look and consistency of microwaved meat. He could not eat it.
I ordered the seafood platter and the only "fresh" seafood seemed to be the fish. The prawns were woeful the prawns seemed watery and very very difficult to peal , the oysters were nothing like I have ever seen (I was to worried to eat them), and the calamari (although super soft and cooked well) was very mediocre and flavourless.
Then the coke and cider was completely flat and just plain gross to be honest.
We left without eating our meals or finishing our drinks.
Don't waste your money, we waited a while after being on the road to treat to a decent pub meal and were completely disappointed.

We were recommended the pub from the caravan park and we were not disappointed. We travelled with our toddler from Adelaide, we got to the pub at 5.30pm without a booking. They managed to find us a table, which we were super grateful for, the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, our son had the kids fish and chips, I had the adults size along with the jalapeno squid (highly recommend trying) and my husband had the Mexican chicken schnitzel. We were in and out within an hour and half. The place was packed. Would definitely come back a great place for a beer and good food after a long day's travel.

We had a meal Sunday night. very busy. Both our meals came quick and very nice. Wine was a great price. Staff really good service. We will come back.!

Beautiful Meal, excellent service, drinks too expensive (but that is everywhere) Unfortunately the girl behind the bar didn't notice the rude man who pushed in on me and my family sadly he was served first. It's not her fault just impatient rude people on a busy night. An item from the children's menu wasn't available when I placed my order so maybe put a little sign up to let people know so not to hold the line up on a busy evening. We really enjoyed our experience so Thank you to everyone 😊

Went to the pub for dinner on a Sunday night on a long weekend.
Firstly, let me say I've never had a problem here before, but that said, the food has always been rather average.
However tonight was next level disappointing. Appalling in the words of one of my friends who came with me. We went to order at 7:00 pm. They had run out of oysters (despite them being farmed right in the bay outside the doors). They had run out of chicken schnitzel despite them being one of the specials. They had run out of veggies for the stir-fry which was also on special and had also run out of steak.
We waited from 7:00 until 7:20 to order, then until 8:54 for our meals to arrive.
When my salt and pepper squid came it was almost inedible, overly salty and soggy. I ate some of it as I was so hungry after waiting so long for my meal.
When the server came to collect my plate I asked if she would give the chef a message. She was obliging and passed my discontent along to the chef.
The chef did not come out of the kitchen, but told the server that the reason my meal was so bad was because they were so busy and the fryer was broken.
This was a totally unacceptable response, so I told the server this. She was most apologetic and asked me if I would like my money back. I said yes and so was given cash for the cost of my meal.
I'm not sure who is in charge of the kitchen at the Streaky pub now, but clearly they were extremely unprepared for dinner service tonight.
Furthermore, there is still another day of the long weekend to go. I wonder what they will serve?

Went to have lunch and completely ignored by bar staff. Not welcoming at all. Will never return to Streaky Bay Hotel again. For a so called 'tourist town" quality of service absolutely appalling.

Once again a nice place over shadowed by poor service. The meals were nice and delivered in a reasonable time. The biggest gripe was the older female bar tenders attitude. Not sure what her problem was as it wasn't busy but what an effort it was for her to be polite! Oh well hopefully management get to read some of these reviews!!

Came here based on the good reviews. Food took very long to arrive. Two tables arrived and ordered after us, one had finished eating and left, the other was half way through their mains. When I tried to ask about our meals, the young lady behind the counter kept avoiding eye contact and never came to the counter even though I was the only one standing there. An older lady eventually came and said that the chef was literally 'plating up' our meals. 10 minutes later, they were still 'plating up' our meals. They have forgotten our orders and were just giving out excuses to cover the mistake rather than owning up to it. Food was mediocre in the end.

Sunday roast night. $20. Soup and choice of lamb or pork roast. Excellent value. Delicious taste, great service. Couldn't eat all.

Lovely room upstairs. Food was high quality.
Staff friendly and helpful. Location with direct views of the Bay makes for a lot of dreamy gazing from the upstairs verandah. And yes, this upstairs verandah is open if you have a room upstairs. A dozen oysters at dusk were delicious as we watched the light fade in the west, sipping a quiet glass.

Beautiful dinner tonight. Had whiting, chicken palmy and the special chicken Florentine. Very nice and filling.

Only hotel we've been to on both Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas that is not dog friendly. Must be costing you a fortune as we would've eaten there at least 3 times across our week. Both van parks are pet friendly.

Just stayed here for the one night. Accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable. Quite a large bathroom. The bistro was quite busy. The food and service were really good. I definitely recommend having seafood whilst here. Book and get a table out on the verandah so as to enjoy the great views.

We came here for dinner on our last night in Streaky Bay. I had THE best chicken snitzel I've ever had. The crumb on the outside was amazing and the chicken perfect. Huge meals too. Finished with good coffee. Friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely go again when next we get to Streaky Bay 🤩🤩
