The place is not to come back, the waiters and security staff are quite rude, they don't take care of the customers at all. The price of the drinks is not cheap either, you can choose better places in Manly where they are nicer and also with cheaper prices. I don't recommend it.

Stayed recently for 2 nights at Hotel Steyne, what an amazing experience.
All of the staff were so helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Taylah the manager who went above and beyond to make our stay so special and provided exceptional customer service throughout.
The check in process was smooth, our room was clean and quite and had an amazing view of Manly Beach.
Can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Steyne. Great location right next to the beach, the sound of the ocean is super relaxing at night. Bit of hustle bustle on the street in the mornings, but to be expected in the busy area. Special thanks to ("Ivan?") for assisting us with our late check in, he was super helpful with us and another late-arriving couple. Many thanks! See you again.

Stayed here Thursday and Friday (Australia day).
The price was very reasonable.
Though not the Saturday (double$).
Manly and Sydney in general are very expensive.

What an excellent location.

We booked an ensuite room which was clean and tidy with nice decor.
Corridors are clean too (some pubs are bad).

The pub has plenty big bars to eat and drink at.
Very good breakfast menu, which we enjoyed.
11am checkout was nice too.
Just be aware, weekends are busy and noisy. Bring ear plugs. After all it is a pub!

I'd stay again.

My wife & l had lunch there earlier today. Our first impressions of the service weren't that great - meals were brought out separately, no exchanges of polite conversation, etc.

But we observed one staff member showing initiative & engaging with diners. When she came to our table to clear glasses, she greeted us with a smile & started up pleasant chit chat.

Catalina, your service easily outshone all others working the floor today. Well done!

Went to the bar with my brother after a long reunion and the service was A1, the staff were very welcoming, in particular the supervisor Chiba who was very friendly and went over and above out expectations. He made sure our night went smoothly and needless to say, we had a memorable night. Will be back soon!! Thanks mate!

We recently celebrated an 18th at the rooftop bar. The view and decor was lovely and we were very excited at being there. However, our moods dropped substantially while we waited 45mins for the cocktails to appear. Our other guests had sensibly ordered wine and beer - which come from another bar. The food was good but again, out of sync with everything else, which made for a very disjointed and stressful occasion. QR codes on the tables made ordering even more complicated and we really missed having some personal service. We will not be returning until the venue dispenses with Covid QR codes as a replacement for friendly staff.

I haven't stayed so can't rate the rooms. I went for a drink and something small to eat and a wine. Wine was great I got a glass of French rose. Asked about the menus and the guy had no idea and didn't offer much help. I managed to flag down a waitress, Gabby I think. She was outstanding! She checked with the kitchen followed my order and brought it out. Food was delicious by the way and sitting in the roof with a view of the beach magic! I'd like to go back and eat in the pretty restaurant area. Super Insta friendly up there and if the rest of the service staff are like Gabby you can't go wrong!

To be honest, I initially chose to stay at The Steyne because it was cheap so I wasn't expecting much, after all, it's the Steyne. I have been inside that pub several times over the years but I was very surprised with the rooms upstairs which I haven't obviously seen before. I stayed in a king room and the facilities and decor was so good and it came with free breakfast that went till 11 am, the breakfast that I ordered was worth about $20+ dollars and the room cost $149 for a Saturday night right in the heart of Manly.

What I liked:

4. The 11 am checkout
5. The value for money
6. The hotel staff were all mainly young friendly and good looking.

Obviously if you're staying above a pub with music and people partying downstairs you'd hear some noise upstairs although it's quite negligible and it's well worth it with the cheap room rate.

My partner and I hosted our engagement party at the Glasshouse Curve bar, and it was an absolutely fantastic venue for our function. The convenience of the location allowed our guests to come and go effortlessly, and the designated area provided the perfect size for approximately 100 people. Stephanie Bull, our host, was exceptional in handling all the event arrangements from start to finish. She ensured everything flowed smoothly, and her attentive approach made the entire experience truly enjoyable.

Had a beautifully delicious banquet for our friends birthday. Very generous servings and the table service was excellent! Not having to go to the bar and order cocktails was luxury!
The space is lovely too - warm and welcoming. Will definitely go there again.

The food and service were phenomenal! We celebrated a friend's birthday at the rooftop bar/restaurant and had the banquet menu. Definitely not your usual pub meal. Lots of great Asian inspired shared dishes. Would highly recommend, especially for an event!

What a great pub. Location. Atmosphere. Great beer great service. The meals looked good. So many nooks and crannies in this large venue, outdoor areas, indoor, small bar areas and open plan. Something for everyone here. Highly recommended for a cold beer when visiting manly. Well done.

Went for lunch on a Friday. No problems getting a table. Ordered fish and chips, and to be honest, this was one of the very best I have ever eaten! Crispy batter on moist fish, just as I like it. Bar and food service was very friendly and professional. Top marks!

Staying for 10 days here.. we are in room 38, amazing hotel, beautiful view, the beach just cross the hotel, very helpful receptionist, unlimited water bottle and complimentary snacks everyday, daily house keeping. We got the room with free breakfast- the restaurant also amazing, delicious food and we also can choose from the menu. Mr Patrick also very helpful to get us extra bread Nd jam for our little one ? all perfect! Definitely will be back here in future ??'?

Dropped in for lunch with the grandbaby. Had a table at the window, which they kindly opened that overlooked the beach. The breeze was beautifully refreshing. The food was delivered promptly, kids' meals available, and all were delicious! The staff were wonderful, very helpful and great at what they do. I had a lovely afternoon watching the world go by while we enjoyed our food and a rest from exploring the area. Five stars all round.

Great location. Rooms are compact but clean and tidy and have everything you need. The guest lounge provides extra space to relax.

I didn't like the automatic card fee charged, even when selecting savings account. Apparently that's an 'accounting rule', which I didn't think was allowed.

Good location with great views of the beach. Terrible service and very plain food.

Oysters are $5 each but were smaller and less enjoyable than what you get from Woolies.

Ordered pizza but they told us their cheese supplier was on strike and refused to bring it over from Sydney. So pizza was not on the menu, but while we were waiting for food we noticed pizza coming out of the kitchen.

Tried to order pate but they didn't have any. (Supermarket up the road, pretty sure they sell pate and cheese for pizza).

The chicken wings were served cold and dry with some "hot" sauce drizzled over. We didn't finish them all.

Calamari was tasteless and barely cooked.

$200 lunch that came out in two serving with half an hour between them. No one at the table enjoyed anything very much.

The staff was helpful enough to check me in via the pub after a late arrival.

The room was comfortable, clean and the hotel wing is thoroughly secured. The location is right across from the beach and the main arcade.

It is amazing value considering the location.

If there is to be but one suggestion; it would be nice to have a dropbox for early morning checkouts. Leaving the keys unattended at the reception left me concerned.

A group of friends and I came here for lunch. Went up to order our food and drinks. We were told to go to the bar to order our drinks separately. We then attempted to order soft drinks, to which we were asked to provide ID that we were over 18. We are all over the age of 21, however we were refused drinks service as one of my friends did not have her ID present. The server was not friendly at all. We then asked for clarification was to why this was. Assuming he was the general manager or venue manager came over and spoke to us. He then stated that my friend who had forgotten her ID actually had to leave the venue and that he would give her a refund for her food. We then asked for a refund for all of our food as we were not going to eat without her unlike he suggested. We then verified with him that she was in fact over 18 and she was allowed to stay. If needing to be in the venue at lunchtime to order soft drinks and food required a form of identification, there should be security at the door or the server who took our food order should have stated this. Food was average. Would never come here again and suggest you don't either.

Ate in the restaurant listening to Naomee a brilliant guitarist and singer. Great live music. Check.

The food was hot, plentiful, prompt, tasty, and fresh. Check.

Service at the bar was polite if not friendly, but the beer was cold. Check.

Access is easy from the street and around the pub. Check.

Prices are on the upmarket side. But the food, location and vibe all worth it.

Nice rooms, great location and good price however, extremely noisy with music thumping until around 2:30am the first night at 4am the second night, so didn't get a lot of sleep. Breakfast was included with my booking so overall it's great value for money. Just a shame about the noise levels.

A friend had a 21st here and the workers and management was awful. We weren't allowed to have speeches with staff changing their mind every half an hour leaving us in an awful position. Whoever is a manger of this establishment needs to have better communication and not screw the guests around who had this booking for months.

Very large beautiful pub. Great space with many interesting areas and rooms.
Fantastic spot for afternoon drinks to watch people go by or sitting on the rooftop from where you can admire Manly beautiful waterfront.
Food was as good as everything else. Delicious.

First time here. Liked it, loved it. Big screens to watch your favourite sports, huge establishment with different styling and decor. Various outlooks of Manly. We finished with a window seat looking out to the beach. Great service, delicious food, good selection of beers. Not far from Manly wharf. Highly recommended. Looking forward to returning! Such a cool place.

Excellent location, unbeatable. The view from the room is top notch! The Hotel is a beautiful art deco building right at the centre of Manly Beach. You could not get any closer. The bathroom is modern, and the room is large.The staff were super friendly, check-in was quick and easy. Special thank you to the General Manager Sam who was so accommodating, his impeccable service made our stay all the more enjoyable!We received a complimentary bottle of wine for there opening weekend it was really lovely.Dinner and breakfast delicious. Great hospitality and service. ....and beautiful view! I would stay here again and highly recommend that you do too.

Arrived for trivia and stayed for the service! We've been looking for a good trivia comp for a while now and the Steyne is the best so far! Razz was lots of fun and the quiz was competitive. The staff are great as well, Zoe gave us great recommendations of food, I had the prawn pasta and my girlfriend had the taco special, 3 for $15! Food was tasty and quick and all staff had smiles. Great beer selection too. Highly recommend for a fun trivia comp or just a nice dinner.

My friend and I recently went to have a few cocktails and dinner upstairs. The food was amazing, the place had such a good vibe but the staff were what really stood out. A woman named Chloe made us feel very comfortable and our night so much more enjoyable, we were overwhelmed by her kindness and accommodating personality, her service was amazing!! We will definitely be returning

The Glasshouse bar is amazing super positive crew. I have been in hospitality for over 15 years working mainly managing cocktail bars and high end resorts. The Glasshouse bar staff have been trained well, they know the classics and the gin list.The only down side is that there uniform doesn't reflect a cocktail bartender, they look more like food runners at a casual dining/ takeaway shop.The renovation is coming along well.Keep it up but consider reviewing the uniform choice.

What ever happened to the good old Steyne? Rude staff, expensive, not covid safe and a bit of a mess.

Really enjoyed the poke bowl and gluten-free pizza! We would certainly return.
