We took the family out for dinner here tonight. I ordered the barramundi with chat potatoes and beans. The fish was cooked to perfection with a crunchy side and the chimmi chimmi sauce had just the slightest hint of spice/chilli which was matched so well! The chat potatoes had a slight crunch which added to the delight of the meal. 10/10! Highly recommend!

The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for food is because the new menu does not have many gluten free options... However! they will cater to coeliac's and I've never had an issue eating their food. The upstairs function room is amazing and the staff put in a huge effort to set up the room to your desired need.

I've been here twice in the last month and it is now going to become one of my regular eating places. The first time I came, I ordered a steak, cooked blue. It's often a gamble, but the steak was prepared to perfection. Warm all the way through, but as rare as rare can be. It was melt-in-your-mouth succulent and worth every cent! Next, I tried the lamb cutlets with mash, veg and mushroom sauce. They were the BEST CUTLETS I've had in ages, and the veges were beautifully cooked. They were crispy not soggy, and full of flavour. I can't wait to come back and try more of this amazing food!

Netty. Was. Here. This place oozes with atmosphere. The moody colours and hanging antlers from the ceiling will draw your eye around the room. With both a formal and informal dining area, and multiple bars you'll find a comfortable nook to relax in and enjoy a meal. At this location the weekly specials rock around the $16 mark but are a warm welcome stepping outside of the traditional pub favourites. Today I had the Hunters Pie Special which was a Lamb, Rosemary & Tomato pie. Yummy.. oozing with a saucy filling that was satisfying in the meat department.

Great staff and exceptional security, wonderful food and a lovely decor. Some junkies and suspicious people frequenting the pokie room late but most of the time the true riff raff opt for the Mayfield Hotel across the road. Good live music and a great pool table. Easily the best pub in Mayfield/Waratah area. Very nice.

I really enjoyed the pasta special that was on a few weeks ago when the howlin rats played there. The atmosphere and service was quite nice too. I have nothing bad to say about the Stag just not 100% sure it was my taste

I had the croquettes and they were presented so fancy and nice. I didn't even know croquettes could be fancy. They were on a black rectangle plate and everything. But also more importantly super yummy!!! And so was the vegan schnitzel. Although the bathroom has paper towels and the Spice Girls played while I was there and there was also a candle to play with on the table!

I just held an event in Stag and Hunters Function room and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff on the night, and Taylah and Tianna who helped me organise it, were all just fantastic! Super helpful, friendly, and organised. The food was delicious and the room was beautiful. Thankyou so much for the amazing evening!

Ate the leaves, but couldn't decipher between croutons (which were plentiful) and chicken... If you love toasted, stale bread, or dry chicken, come here!

The staff are the loveliest people!

A pretty great selection of beers and decent food. A little more on the expensive side but very tasty. The front bar has a great love music area, albeit a little dingy, and the beer garden area is light and airy. There are multiple bars and some nice cocktails to choose from. When we ordered our dinner the bartender warned us there would be a wait on food because it was busy, but we were pleasantly surprised when it came out early.

Wonderful Pub!! Had a lovely afternoon with a few drinks and were surprised when we went into the dining room for dinner, to find Michelle had prepared a beautiful Valentine's Day table for us. Our dinner was sensational - I would highly recommend this pub, plenty of space and staff are amazing. From myself and my husband Craig Stead.

The first occasion during the week there was a good selection of the usual pub grub. Reasonable priced meals and good portion sizes.

The second time was on a weekend lunch. Pizza only selection that nice but not mind blowing.

Amenities could definitely do with a refresh in the main dining are but are clean and tidy.

I would recommend this for a meal of drink.

The stag is our favourite local pub. Great tasty feeds with the specials on every day, and attentive start to really take care of you. The kitchen is consistently delivering great dishes. Highly recommend.

How local for a tasty meal and a refreshing beverage. Lots of dining options whether you want to sit outside inside near the bar or in the private dining area. The staff are amazing, attentive, and the kitchen is consistently delicious. We bring friends here all the time

In my opinion, one of the best pub steaks around. Several times I've visited and have been impressed with the steaks. Even the steak from the specials board was better than steaks I've paid full price for ?

Good list of live music but wow beers have gone through the roof in Mayfield :/ Still. They have a great tap list and awesome food

Always a great place for a meal. There are lots of options on the menu, with ever-changing specials, and the prices are excellent. The meal sizes are large, and always filling. Staff are friendly and attentive. Plenty of beers on tap. A great venue overall.

Nice intimate night of live music. Nice to be going back to normal. I had a steak and veg for dinner, steak was beautifully cooked and well seasoned! Next time I'll take a light cardigan though, it was rather cool.

We had dinner here tonight and I must say the friendly staff and meals were so amazing. I have had a lot of steaks over the years, my rump was cooked so perfect so tender, my partner had a lamb rump and again cooked so perfectly. And the price was also amazing. Thank you
