We visited the restaurant on 20/92024 with a group of friends. It was a very bad experience as the food came an hour late with 30 minutes apart for each family although we all ordered at the same time. The food was cold and the serving size was small compared to the price we paid. Dessert was also late. We don't recommend this to anyone at all. Hope the management review their service and quality.

We visited the restaurant on 20.09.2024 and, unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our food arrived an hour late, and it was very cold .Despite ordering everything at the same time, my child's meal was served 30 minutes after ours. We had to follow up with the waitress three times before it was finally brought to the table. We hope the service can improve for future guests.

The food was decent, but the service left something to be desired.

When we arrived, there was no one at the entrance, so we headed to the counter inside where orders were being taken. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, we were advised to wait at the unmanned front desk. Another couple made the same mistake and ended up standing there as well.

Eventually, someone came to assist, but by the time they seated the other couple whose reserved table had been taken, it was a 15-minute wait before we were shown to our table. This could have been easily avoided with a simple sign at the front saying, "Please wait to be seated," if no one was present.

Once seated, we had to return to the same counter to place our order and then wait another 5-10 minutes at the bar to be served drinks.

The staff were friendly and tried their best, but the process of greeting, seating, and ordering could use some serious improvement - it felt unnecessarily complicated.

The food was fine, though the dining area could benefit from some better styling, as it felt a bit plain.

Parking is limited on a Saturday night.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Shoppingtown hotel. Preet greeted us warmly when we arrived and helped us in pub+. The food was good. In particular the porterhouse was perfectly cooked tasted great. Good vibes and great view ,will be back, such a good night. Thank you.

We had a group for lunch as I have always had several groups there before the setup was good the drinks were good the food was definitely the worst meals I have ever had in a hotel. I ordered Fish and chips in batter I got two of the smallest grilled dry tasteless fish I have ever had that was just a representative of most of the 32 meals, cooked then left dry out before being served, it was an embarrassment to have taken a group of friends there and the young male waiter matched the food perfectly. Could not care less.

Today, I had lunch at the Shopping Town Hotel, and it was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, offering a good variety of options. They have special senior menus, which are thoughtfully portioned and provide great value.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our visit. Their outstanding service truly enhanced our dining experience.

I highly recommend the Shopping Town Hotel for anyone looking for a great meal with excellent service.

We had lunch on Mother's Day in a fairly large group. The service was excellent and the food arrived promptly and was very tasty. I had the vegan Teriyaki and the feedback from others was also very positive.

We were delighted on arrival to see that the four mothers in our group all received a gift - and not a cheap gift either! Great experience!

Great spot for a family gathering. Nice view. Prompt service. Salmon very good and the open souvlaki and waffle fries great. Saturday night booking for 19 adults and kids handled nicely. Plenty of choice for all

We are regulars bringing mum up for a lunch for a while. The staff are always so friendly and good serving delicious and generous. Today I had the porterhouse special. It was cooked to perfection (rare) and had great flavor. Mum had the seniors grilled fish with was very moist and had lovely flavor. Brilliant lunch once again, Thankyou.

Cannot honestly talk about the rooms because I haven't used them although in photos they look awesome. The service and location are just great and welcome. Caught up here with some mates for dinner meeting and the service was great. The views from the windows looking up on the city are simply amazing and the phone photos won't do it justice. Will surely return specially with the family.

We loved staying here it was close to places we needed to go to staff were so outgoing and pleasant to talk to I think it was the manager of the place had excellent customer service as did the check in lady rooms were clean all I suggest if you don't like too much noise try not to stay when they have an event on our food was also really really good hats off to the chef very clean in bistro and gaming lounge thanks for a great couple of nights we will be back and do recommend this place to stay or just for the bistro

Relaxing casual place and great for kids. Food is good for what you pay and I've never left hungry. Ordered the chefs special scotch fillet on the last visit and it was quite chewy but tasty. Steaks in general seem to be hit and miss these days even at the best of places.

We had a function at the bistro, I can't thank the staff enough for their amazing efforts! They were so professional, friendly, polite and so accommodating! A massive shout out to Luke who accommodated all my requests, Chrystal who took our order and got everything perfect (large group of 30), TJ and Will for fantastic service. The chefs got every single order correct and it was all delicious. What a great team! We will definitely be back xx

Been coming here for a couple years and always found the meals to be good. However, TJ is far more personable than the regular manager. Seems to enjoy his job and appears to relate to the staff.

I really enjoyed the show with Normie Rowe and Denise Drysdale - they really performed well and we were impressed once again (we'd seen Normie Rowe once before a few years back and had been surprised by how good he was!) with how good the event was. The booking and queue in was well handled (booking was flawless, people minding the queue helpful) . The food was ordinary, and Seniors style, but I didn't go for the food and I was glad it wasn't huge as I don't want a big meal for lunch! I was able to swap my lasagne for chicken so I was happy!

Always clean and brilliantly located for everything around Doncaster or a 20 min Bus ride to the Centre of Melbourne. Great venue for a drink or a meal. Accommodation is priced below competing properties nearby.

A very inviting pub, great staff, good food at reasonable prices, well set out for amazingviews across to city of Melbourne. And excellent parking. We liked it so much we have been back 6 or7 times. Not restaurant class, but very good upper pub class. Recommend.

Beautiful setting with city views and open fire place. The outside courtyard is really lovely too. Interesting menu to suit everyone. High quality fresh ingredients and vegetables unlike other local hotels which serve frozen peas and corn mix. Play area is small but adequate, Would be great if they opened up the kids party room for more activities and games on busy nights. More staff needed at cashier on Fri - Sun nights to prevent long wait in the cue. Overall, excellent. Highly recommend

Reviewing the food at the bistro. Had the steak sandwich, it was fantastic value and tasty. But a lot of food. Rather than regular toasted sliced bread it was in a Turkish styled bread. Good but too filling for me. The steak was fully cooked, would have preferred a bit of pink. But can't complain. Chips were crunchy and well cooked. Well priced too.

Others enjoyed their meal. The beef cheek special was tender.

Service was attentive. Clear view of the city.

We had 2 birthday party for our 2 sons here. A great place and close to home. Marie was the staff helping us for the whole morning today again. She is super nice and helpful lady. Hard working and thoughtful. She took care almost everyone of us, 18 kids and almost 16 adults. From pumping the balloon, room decorations, and serving the food.... Can't thank enough to Marie. I think this hotel has changed hands. It's not as clean as it used to be. The toilets needed a good clean around the dryers and entry door. The loos them selves were clean but the surrounds not so much. Where we sitting, the back behind the bench seat was dirty, finger marks etc.

A brilliant hotel close to the city that offers accommodation with tremendous views from the balconies.
The staff are extremely helpful.
The food an drink range is on a par with some more expensive hotels, very acceptable.
Part of the hotel is devoted to a gambling agency if that is your preference.
The live music venue on site has seen many top rate musicians play there. The musicians playing during our stay was what really drew us there.

Can only comment about the lunch experience I had at the bistro last Saturday afternoon.

Got the rump steak cooked medium. Was OK - didn't disappoint but didn't blow my mind. That cut was the cheapest on offer at 30 dollars, they've got porterhouse and one more which I can't remember that goes up to around 40.

The bistro has some nice tall windows which gives the place a lot of natural lighting and a good view out to the city if you managed to score some seating near there.

Ample space if you've got a big group or kids that like to roam around.

Coffee was alright.

Service would sit on the tail end of an "average rating." The staff would do what you ask them to do, but don't expect them to be overly attentive.

Nice place for gatherings. Steak was cooked nicely. Carbonara was a bit heavy. Less cream would have been better. Calamari needs to be fried for a tad longer. Good service size. Excellent service.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Shoppingtown Hotel and am proud to call it our local. On the night of our visit Simon was the Manager and was exceptional as always. However, what I enjoy most about this venue besides the food, is that whenever you visit the staff are always smiling, happy, obliging and welcoming.

The food was fine, however the service was not good at all. The meals didn't come out at the same time, which is expected, but people were finished their main meals before kids meals came out. After asking about the food that had not yet come out, the waiter went and got the food for us that had obviously been sitting out for ages, and was not even warm. Unfortunately this isn't the first time when the service has been bad here.

Nice venue but they couldn't organise events really good if it says starts at 7 don't start at 830

Relaxing place to enjoy a drink, a great view and good pub food. Highly recommended.

Booked a table for 10 near the window with high chair.
Was given a table for 8 near the playground, no high chair.
Meals were not delivered together, minimum wait from ordering was 90 minutes.
No plates cleared, needed to ask for kids and pre ordered deserts.
Staff were friendly. If you do not have enough staff, close some tables!

The service is good. The staff are friendly. Vaccination certificates are checked which provides assurance to public health. The food was delicious but at times inconsistent, possibly due to different chefs? The roast pumpkin and feta salad was amazing one week but average on a recent occasion.
I really enjoyed the fish tacos and the pumpkin and coconut curry with chicken. They're my favourite two dishes on the menu. The ambience is family friendly and I was also impressed that I was not charged for soda water. I also like the fact that you can order via the online menu accessible from QR code at your table.

This is an old haunting ground for me from my misspent youth. I miss the 1970s decor, but the view from the lounge is even more spectacular. It is a large venue and the food is reliably good and affordable

Very nice ambiance with very good service and food was O K. Used the rear Terrace area which was nice with a beautiful view to across the Melbourne skyline. Easy parking out back. Would be really nice for a party of friends on a nice day for lunch.

Bistro was lovely. The staff is friendly, great atmosphere and great food.After dinner went to see the 80s band playing there, the music was amazing, bar staff a little grumpy though. Staff at the door entry were amazing both on entry and exit. It's a great fun night if you see a band there.

Always a good special on in the sports bar here. Well-made and good value pub classics on the menu, friendly staff as well. The lads and I love getting on the sesh here.

Service was a slow, had to wait over an hour for order to come. Once it did come wasn't what I ordered but ate it, as I didn't want to wait another half an hour as everyone else I was with had just about finished there meal. I will say what I ate was nice though.

Tonight was trial run as we are considering getting out of the house for our Xmas lunch here. I opted for the Eye-Fillet & Mushy sauce and the wife went with the grilled Salmon. Absolute Quality! Service was bang on as well. We are now booked in for Xmas lunch and cant wait. Cheers!
