We just had lunch here and it was perfect on every level - beautiful views of the water on a glorious day, dog-friendly, good service, plus my salad was great. Such a lovely experience!

Loved the atmosphere and live music. Meal was atrocious. Ordered a seafood basket, it was so greasy, clearly hadn't had long enough to drain oil to off before serving. The seafood was so over cooked the color of the crumbed prawns were dark brown. We pulled off the crumbs as inedible and prawn underneath was so dried out. We said something to a worker when collecting plates and he didnt say a word just looked at us as though we were a pain. Service at bar was terrible. I ordered a frozen margarita, young girl poured it and went to get garnish, none in container. Instead of getting some she with out a word put in front of me and served next customer. Disappointed in bar service and would never order food here again. Need to lift their game. Shame as great venue.

Had dinner at Shaws Bay hotel. The seafood platter was amazing and so fresh. The rump steak was tender and juicy, cooked perfectly as medium rare and nicely chargrilled outside. Nice bottle of reasonably priced Shiraz to accompany the meal.

Not the best food, quite average. However amazing setting with beautiful view over the river, especially with evening sunset

We came down for a family holiday at the holiday park and thought it would be nice to go for lunch.
Being a big order we made sure that we had the staff member read this back to us in the correct order. Happy with the selection and order we still had a meal missed along with side servings and the meals were extremely disappointing for the money we had spent.
We do not recommend this venue for meals.
The serving staff how ever did what they could and were accommodating.

A MUST visit eat relax in one of the best. Or maybe the best EVER food experiences in my life. The food value did not take away from quality and volume Definitely a 10 out of10

Spacious hotel. Play area with a beach for children. I thought the food was expensive. Good service. Great location.

Entrance to the hotel looked quite dirty,and quiet a lot of rubbish in car park.
Staff weren't all that cheery.
We had the veal schnitzel,which was quite flavourless ,but both mushroom and Dianne sauces were very nice.
Large portion size .
Looks tired and in need of a freshen up.
Not really our cup of tea. Zero atmosphere.

With an outlook like this and great pub food at reasonable rates how can it not be 5 star. The works burgers are just that. Huge and a good serving of crispy chips to accompany. The seafood platter is more than just your normal frozen fare with grilled local king prawns, squid and calamari, a couple of scallops, and a nice piece of beer battered barra accompanied by a very simple fresh garden salad with delicious dressing. The chicken schnitzel was above average and truly delicious. Friendly staff and enough variation of beer on tap to keep most happy.

When we arrived for lunch it was really busy which is wonderful to see. We ordered our lunch then went to get drinks.
They put a vodka lime and soda in a hot glass with no ice, we also ordered a beer the was put in a hot glass and not filled to the top. We went and asked for a glass of ice which by the look on the staffs face was the biggest inconvenience.
Our lunch took and hour and a half. We ordered a $60 sea food platter that was full of deep fried food. There was more batter then there was fish and it was cold. All our meals didn't come out together and we were almost finished eating before our son's food was ready.
Not somewhere I would go again.

What a fantastic place! A great pub at reasonable prices with the best local band talent around. Such a great setting to chill out and listen to music whilst eating good food!

Friendly staff, fast and great service accompanied by moderate pricing. Best buy: the steak. Ridiculously good and cooked medium rare to perfection. Surf and turf was great, prawns and broccolini were served with truffle aioli. Absolutely delicious. Will have to go back at some stage.

Literally so impressed with the food here, came for lunch and got the beef nachos and it was to die for, mum got a salad and the amount of effort that went into these meals were unreal. I liked it that much I'm going back tomorrow with dad.

Beautiful old hotel on the Shaws Bay water front. Fantastic food and atmosphere! .Brilliant musicians on a Sunday open air . Caravan park next door for travelers .If your lucky enough to catch a top band like Bourbon Street or Lisa Hunt then you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!

Casual inexpensive pub.
Right on the water, great views and friendly staff.
Our fisherman's basket was ample and the items are battered/crumbed in house.
Friendly and helpful staff. Not a fancy pub, so don't expect that. But a lovely day, on the water, delicious food, good Sunday session band and good food at a decent price.

Haven't been eating here for a couple of years but the food has improved heaps. Really good Mexican meals!

Because of covid no bands just solo singer..this Sunday. Calamari was beautiful. Nice sunny day helped too.

Had a lovely lunch here , great spot, and cater well for the kids. The staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. Meals were huge, so go hungry!

Always loveved the Shaw Bay Hotel. Beautiful spot great atmosphere but still in major need of a full renovation. I know the times make it very hard now that is the times we live in. But get there if you can still a great spot.

Pub food at it's best and in a spectacular location with an awesome view. I hope that the chef is paid well, he is an amazing cook.

The food at this place is to die for!. Honestly! So impressed with the quality of food and the speed it came out!. Definitely a highlight on our travels north so far!. 4 entrees for dinner was the best decisssion my wife has ever made!. Flavour sensation!. Thanks guys!

Wonderful quiet location on the river well out of the busy CBD. Plenty of dog friendly tables outside in the courtyard and the grassy river-view areas. Excellent selection of interesting pub food including the best steak-burger I've had in years (perhaps ever): no ridiculous cheese or BBQ sauce, just mouth-watering onions and a house-made tomato relish with plenty of salad. My wife had a fisherman's basket which was also excellent. Chips: 10/10. Good wine selection. We will be returning...
