Love this place!! Great, friendly staff and great vibe

Name of venue has changed from "Seagulls Nest" (afiliated with Willimastown Seagulls Football club) to the current "Newport Social Club". I figure the Footy club is transitioning away from the "pokies" as they are acutely aware of the impact these machines have on thier locals and the stigma and hypocrisy of family clubs such as the Willimastown Football Club have on their reputation and socail responsibility. What im not completly sure of is the Williamstown Football Club offices are still situated basically above the venue and i dont know what or if the WFC still have and association with the Venue? Have they accessed some legal loophole or set up some "shell company" to still reap the benefits of the substantial poker machines profits or have they sold them off and have nothing to do with them at all??? hmmmmm?
Anyway, so besides the name change and all the trophies and paraphanalia being removed from the venue...........the place is about the same as it has been for years! Same staff, same punters and locals turning up day in day out. As a pub it's solid. Drink specials and decent pub meals at decent prices. ( as compared to the Rifle CLub with no food or the Junction with overpriced craft beer ). The staff are generally friendly and helpful.

My mum left her pen there (sentimental pen) and the lady Casey I believe was so lovely and went and looked for it and found it!! Made my mum so happy. ☺️☺️ She put it aside for me to collect. They also loved how reasonable the prices were and how the vibe of the place was nice and chill! Thank you!!

omm nom nom nom nom, chicky schnitz and chips, best place currently to get it from after my last good place went south in quality, the chips are always worth it and the chicken is nicely cooked, could use a little more lemon on the side since it's a huge piece, also comes with salad that's nice but kinda wish it was optional and allowed for more chips or salad as a side choice. Op 1, salad only, 2, chips only, 3 both.

I think they might have a new chef the food is much better prices good and took a teenage boy he had no problem with the place the only regret I found the gravy delivered with the meals was all wrong and took up to 10 minutes to replace past all that good evening meal

Well the place was actually quite dirty and the meals were terrible got a chicken kiev cut it open it was Dry As a Bone anyway won't be going there again

Locals pub . Somewhat "Clicky" . Drinks and food available until late. Pokies and TAB. As well as showing footy on a nice big screen.

Once again this venue has no idea what its patrons require.With music so loud in the sports bar that had people leaving en masse. Just terrible customer awareness.

Great pub for a cold beer and maybe a little flutter. Happy hour between 4 + 6 pm every day.

If you play the pokies. you get good service. If you don't good luck getting served. Food is OK. Staff are friendly

One of the better Parmas around. In particular , cant fault Kasey's hospitality (Bar staff) and freindliness to all patrons.

Is an ok bar. Be nice if it had a few more lower tables, not everyone likes to sit on barstools. The heaters were on too high and there was a gym locker smell because of it. Staff are friendly. Would have been great to see they rugby on the tvs

a favourite for all the boys and lasses out there. kitchen is great but not super family friendly... my kids love it anyway and staff are always accomodating.

I only gave seagulls 5 stars purely for the fact they have the lovely Ruby !! Always friendly and great service. Ruby actually keeps the place going. Never the same when she is not working. Great job Ruby. You are wonderful.

Nice staff, lots of pokie machines, $5 schooners of beer and clean toilets.

Good pub, pokies totally separated so you can't here them in the main bar. Beer is cold and decent prices. Outdoor/ undercover smoking area. Overall pretty good place for a cold one after work.

The food is always fresh, tastes great and good value.

Appalling. Not being from the area I had spoken to staff three times. When I booked I stated it was for 9 for lunch and for a bday. They rang to confirm and again I said what we needed and that we had a child and would need a high chair. On the day I rang again to check their policy on bringing a cake.On arrival we find they dont even have a bistro and we were expected to sit at bar tables in the TAB area. Horrible customer service. We left and were extremely grateful that the The Backyard Cafe around the corner was able to fit us in.Certainly wouldnt recommend to anyone
