As soon as I entered the door the person who was working there spilt a drink on me. He didn't even say sorry and just shrugged. When I went and ordered the person at the front didn't even write the order. when the pizza arrived it was stale and the cheese was stuck like concrete I forgot to mention that the doe was soggy and wet. J ordered next a beer and it was even worse, inside was a bunch of white specs and it has the colour of all black instead of yellow. I has the first sip and there were chunks of meat or bread in it I thought it was because of the time I came but then I ordered another drink and it was even worse the colour described the colour of vomit and there were even more chunks which were bigger. This place is the worst and I have had the same experience at every alcohol bar places I went to I prefer that people just quit drinking this place is a disaster and I'll be sure to inform the police and some food and drink critiques to come and shut this place down next to many other places like this

Was in the area on a Friday night and randomly chose to give this place a try. The establishment is fresh and comfortable, bar attendants were friendly, served drinks promptly and kept the tables clean. Lots of screens to watch whatever sport you're interested in and the playlist was great too.

Drink wise, really impressed with the range of drinks they had on tap. Tried a couple which I haven't seen elsewhere.

Food wise, pizza bar is at the back. We had a medium pizza for less than $20 and it was more than enough for 2. Saw the servings of other dishes and they were big.

Located right across the station, otherwise there is street parking or 2 hours council parking nearby.

The bosses are absolute hypocrites!! They treat us loyal customers like dirt by banning our kids in the newly renovated sitting area and only allow them to stay in the dining area,but on the other hand the owners dog is allowed INSIDE the pub where other customers are eating and drinking???! And when my husband went to get drinks he had to leave the kids in the dining area to get his beer since they're not allowed in that area...guess what? They just banned my husband for leaving the kids unattended in the dining area. Mind you it's pretty much connected to the bar area just with a cage thing around it. Contradictory much???

ALL THE ATTENDANTS ARE RUDE! They only look after their "own" people. They should be given proper training on how to deal and communicate with people. Look - I bought a schooner of beer and my glass was still half full when I decided to go to the toilet quickly and when I came back, my half-filled glass of beer was gone! I spoke to one of the ladies (who could hardly speak in English) and I asked her, "Where's my beer? I left it just here [referring to one of the gaming machines wherein I still had a credit of $19.00]." She went, "I took it... (and mumbled some words that only she was able to understand)." And then she disappeared. Five minutes later another lady came to me and she went, "I WAS THE ONE WHO TOOK YOUR BEER AWAY!" I asked, "But why did you take my glass of beer away?" She replied, "BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN AWAY FOR OVER TEN MINUTES!" Ohhhhh Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz I replied, "I was only away for two minutes - to empty my bladder! Not ten minutes! Not even five minutes! You can check the camera and let's watch together!" She went, "NO, SIR! YOU WERE AWAY FOR TEN MINUTES AND LONGER!" I didn't want to argue no more so I just left the premises in total disgust. The bottom line was: I was just waiting for her to say, "I'm Sorry. Let me grab you another beer..." or with mere 2 words, "MY APOLOGIES" - that could have ended my frustration amicably but she looked at me as if I just did a horrible crime by leaving my beer on the side of the gaming machine - like, IT WAS ALL MY FAULT. It was like, next time, when you go to the toilet, TAKE THE BEER WITH YOU EVEN IF YOU STILL HAVE CREDITS IN THE MACHINE AND DON'T BLAME US WHEN IT MAGICALLY DISAPPEARS! THERE'S NO NEED TO CHECK THE CAMERAS BECAUSE WHETHER YOU WERE TO ADMIT IT OR NOT IT WAS YOUR FAULT!"

Even in this current climate this pub has ambience, just like the pubs of yesteryear, the main noise is people talking with music in the background. Good service and clean. A bistro with a good menu at reasonable prices is available. A good variety of beers on tap including Reschs. A good TAB area and plenty of sports on many screens. October 2022 there are renovations underway so the sports and TAB areas have been significantly reduced. The bistro is still open with the same good food. The renovations are still ongoing, not sure when they will be completed but the bistro is still serving good food and the staff are pleasant and helpful, great service. The new pokie room opened today if that appeals to you.

Great place to have a drink, watch the sports on TV, place a bet on all the races around the country, and if you want to just talk with a friend or partner there are comfortable lounges to sit and chat when the owner finishes the renovations. There is also a pizza restaurant at the back. Great atmosphere and friendly bar attendants.

Customer service was not good .The way he speak the way he react to customer was disgusting.

Called in to play the pokies to kill some time. Wouldn't bother visiting again. Staff only seemed interested in serving particular clientele. Suffice to say an older Australian male mustn't be a valued guest. I won't bother again.

Excellent bar staff, nice atmosphere, great beers on tap. The Royal Oak is the premier pub in Lidcombe.

I went to the toilet and had my shopping stolen from poker machine I was playing. Told manager who said it was my fault for leaving it there he would not check cameras which are everywhere. Eventually I left and will never return as it is surely a scam. Be warned as he is allowing theft to flourish there.

Staff are nice. But for bistro patrens there is no proper seating in pub for dinners. Food is ok but drink prices are a rip. Very average pub nothing special.

You will have to go there and see for yourself friendly staff great service and the cuisine is something else.

The beer & wine prices were good, nice staff. We only went in for a pre & post lunch drink at a nearby restaurant.

Quite enjoyed my time in the smokers area, reminds me of the good old days. This was beer number 68.

Not a bad boozer. Looked like some renovations were going on when we were in. Nice selection of beers and ciders. Lunch was nice. Spaghetti Bologna was nice.

The spicy pizza is my favourite. As a spicy food lover, this place makes the best spicy pizza.

The service in the gaming room is excellent the staff are constantly cleaning the machines and friendly and helpful.

One woman there is absolutely joke. Rude and thats not the way customer service is done. I had few drinks and food. And after i finished my launch and drink i was just sitting on a table and then she comes and tells you can't sit if you are not buying anything. Absolutely joke.

Very cheerful, friendly service by all staff... extra snacks provided to subdue the drinks. Few metres from Lidcombe station.. bottle shop with good range of drinks. Overall an excellent place to visit..!!!
