This is a revision from my earlier one leaving out leaving it to just the facts with a lot of my personal comments out. The staff person working in the bar Saturday is rude and could not work the Keno tickets charging us for 2 identical tickets even though we purchased two different tickets. She would not even go to find the original manual ticket to help work out the problem. . this person has no respect to customers and we certainly will not be back. I am so upset my wife was treated like this while I was waiting outside. She behaved as if she owned the place and had that I dont care what you think I'm the main person and you listen to me. She may just need a friendly word to how to respect people. Regards

Don't go here bad service. Will refused service to people they don't like but continue to serve there intoxicated friends. Not worth your patronage better to go to the RSL at least you get treated with respect

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Poorly cooked food. Dirty cutlery. You couldn't pay me to return.

Stayed in this hotel for a week, with a 50$/night I didn't hope for a good room. Lol
But the worst of the worst from this place is the unhelpful lady receiptionist/staff downstairs. Very very rude!!! They cursed at us, everytime we ask them for any help or report about electricity or anything. Hopefully they can fix their hospitality standart.

Stopped in around 8pm on Tuesday for dinner. Chicken Parmi, Beef burger, Rissoles & mash and the Shepherds pot pie. Very impressed. We will be back

Room was fine for price. However Saturday night they had a dj playing about 5m from our room. Room was shaking it was so loud. We had to check out and leave as it was intolerable being in the room. Would not recommend.

Terrible place. Stayed one week for work. Never have I stayed in a worse place before. Dirty, smelly, and two days without hot water. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Terrible customer service as well. Just don't stay there.

Food was awesome. However first 2 nights I could hear water running all night this morning there's no hot water. Pretty dissatisfied now, shame because it stared so well. Going to get the rest of the money back if I can.
Now I'm trying to get my money back from them there playing hard to get.

Don't expect to get any sleep on a Saturday night, It's not run like a motel it's also a pub and the pub takes priority over guest comfort! Pumped loud music till apparently 11.30pm (we were told that's when they shut off the music however we checked out and left and drove home around 10-10.30pm as we had a 6 year old and 8 year old that wouldn't go to sleep) Bass was so loud the walls and beds were vibrating.. Had we of know this would be the case we would of stayed somewhere else!! We had to argue to get a full refund for that night as they said they needed to still charge us for cleaning fees. Despite the fact that we had checked in on the Friday and stayed the Friday night and had spoken with the cleaning lady on the Saturday morning and told her not to clean our room which she didn't and we were hardly in our room during the day as we were down for a family event . We eventually got a full refund for the Saturday though it was difficult. Will definitely never book a room here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else, we frequently visit the area for family events, however we had no knowledge that this place likes to turn into a rave on a saturday night! Not a family friendly motel and no respect for their motel guests!

Went here to have tea while staying close by, should have gone to the other pub. Order chrispy skin salmon and pork belly, could not chew the skin at all veggies where not even half cooked, the salad with the salmon was lettuce and onion and dressing. Very very disappointed would not recommend this pub to anyone.

This is a great pub with quaint dinning for many or few people. Arrived 8.00pm and ordered food at bistro which arrived very quickly. Loved the fettucine whilst partner had chicken neptune. Short walk to bar for drinks.
Later that evening they had singing which was loud but not too bad. The entertainer was very good.
Give this pub a big 2 thumbs up for atmosphere and all. Stayed the night in very comfy beds.

Hotel room and upstairs area was very lacking. No shower curtain in ladies shower room and door would not close and lock. No milk, crockery, coffee or sugar in community kitchen

The food was quite good, would have happily given the place 5 stars if not for the hotel rooms upstairs. Though, it is hard to complain with $50 a night.

Most of the rooms did not have blinds, some of he rooms had screens on the window, and some of the rooms the fans did not work, making it impossible to both prevent the room from heating up during the day and subsequently cooling it during the night. Also mean for an earlier then desired rise due to the blinding sun coming through the windows at 5:40am.

The rooms had miscellaneous garbage in them like bottle caps and lost socks, combined with the deteriorating condition of the building made for an uncomfortable, unclean feel. Surfice to say we slept on top of the covers that night due to this.

The bathrooms were horrendous. I'll just leave it at that.

I would have given the place a 1 star review if the food hadn't been good. Dispite the rooms being very cheap I would never consider staying here ever again, even if that means paying double the price. I'd advise others to do the same until they get their act together.

Never want to go there again the food was so bad 4 of my friends ordered food one had the fish took a bite and said it smelt funny, one had the lasgne took a bite and it was cold and the other 2 had sausages and mash potatoes and the mash was cold. We stayed the night the room was tiny ,the window was cracked and the bathroom was disgusting , i will wrat there again

Sat out in beer garden/outdoor area , we had the $14 meals : beer battered fish & chicken shnitty.

Smells horrible, so ancient it's haunted. Dirty muggy mouldy vibes. Slow service but nice receptionist, not their fault! Could use a massive renovation or even demolish and rebuild.

While this looks like a lovely place, the atmosphere is a mix of lonesome and smug. Arrived just after 5pm with my husband and children and when enquiring about the bistro for dinner was met with a very rude response. Wad told "it's way too early for dinner, it's practically lunch time". There were very few patrons and it smelt of smoke. We would have waited for dinner if we had been told dinner was at 5:30pm, but I stead we went to scone for dinner.
Being so rude to travellers is how small country towns lose their reputations and their customers.

Staying at Royal Hotel in motel room for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday. The room is basic, but clean, with comfortable beds. For $110 a night we weren't expecting luxury, so no problem there. On Friday night there was a covers band playing in the pub, which was very audible from our room, but still possible to fall asleep, all good. On Saturday night however, the music (I use the term loosely) was probably double the volume, RIDICULOUSLY loud in our room, to the point that things in the room were rattling. There is no way anybody could sleep under those conditions, and to be taking money for accommodation with that going on is shameful.
Be warned, do not stay here on a Saturday night if you are wanting to sleep...

Biggest disappointment of our trip to Scone. I'm pretty sure it isn't legal to advertise a meal at a certain price but then try to charge you ALMOST DOUBLE! When we questioned this we were told that it's that price in the computer, but not on the menu, outrageous. We changed our order and then had to wait almost 40 minutes for it to be served, whilst edible, it was far from good value. Wouldn't recommend the bistro.

We booked in for two nights at a cost of $98 per night. There was no milk in the fridge for tea. We had no coat hangers. We understood that breakfast was included but there was nobody in the restaurant and nobody at reception. The young man in the bar couldn't tell us anything about breakfast. We let the phone ring for 15 minutes and there was no response. Pretty shocking service all round. The trains are very close and run about every half an hour all night and whistle as they go through the town..

1 star was only for the pool tables , a few months ago had a great meal and happy to return. Was most disappointed with a very average parmie that i could not even eat ,will not be returning

The rooms are cheap ($40/night in the hotel), the beds are clean, the showers hot, and the beer cold.
This isn't the Ritz, but for what you pay, it's good value.

Place was complete refurbished 6 months ago. Absolutely stunning. Food fantastic. People great! Found a new awesome hangout in the hunter!

My Wife and I had a meal travelling though we had rump steak and cutlets absolutely beautiful . well done .
