Been three times, never enjoyed the food, quantity is good, but not flavoursome. Only plus is it's spacious, but if you want tasty pub food, go elsewhere.

Food is ok, not great or terrible. The big drawcard was the large sheltered play area (in addition to the small playroom inside).

I say "was" because we were gutted to show up one night only to find that it's been removed in favour of pokies. Not really any point in us going back, but I'm sure they'll get more profits from gamblers than the meals we'd have.

We go here regularly as a family. The food is good value and the service is always friendly. I almost always order steak and it's cooked to how I like it every time. The indoor play area is a big draw, especially in Orange winters.

They have their own parking however it can get limited on Friday and Saturday nights. As far as I've noticed there are only two disability spaces in a car park that takes up almost an entire block.

The only thing I'd personally change is stricter ruling on the "parents are to supervise their own children" policy. We have children ourselves however for couples, the elderly, etc. it must get loud and busy with children running everywhere.

Great spot for dinner with kids. The information playground is fantastic, enclosed and lots of seating nearby to keep them in your line of sight. Food was great. We went on a Sunday evening, it was a bit quieter, service was spot on and food was tasty!

Playground was great to keep the young kids occupied so we got to enjoy dinner and drinks. Nice big serving sizes. Food was ok - standard pub fare at the expected price. Recommend coming here if on Orange and need a dinner place for the family! Make sure you book if coming on a Friday/Saturday night.

Wanted to take away as I wanted the kids to eat and go to bed for waterpolo the next day....rang, and they don't do orders over the phone, was told to come in and order and have a beer. Thanks but just wanted to order and pick up. ?

Just awful food. Honestly if it wasn't for the playground this place wouldn't have people coming back. Ordered something so simple ( burger and chips, kids nuggets and chips ) chips were hard, like all of them not just some. My burger literally had one leaf of cos lettuce, one slice of tomato.

Staff is helpful and service is fast.

One of these stars is for the service, which was fine. The other was for my son enjoying the play area.

However, the lack of additional stars are due to the atrocious quality of the food.

I ordered the American Style burger. Which suspiciously arrived at the same time as the kids meal, five minutes after I'd ordered both. What I received was a barely luke warm burger, bacon with no rendering at all on the rind and chips that had only been kept warm for what would have been at least an hour. They were incredibly dry and shrivelled.

I sent the burger back after one bite and the replacement wasn't much better, although this time it was warm enough to at least melt the cheese in it. The bacon still looked and tasted like it had been sitting in a Bain Marie since breakfast service. Dry and discoloured on the edges, and the rind yet again looking like it had ever touched a hot plate.

The girl behind the counter was lovely, and even asked if I wanted the kids meal first. I hadn't eaten at Robin Hood for over eight years and word of mouth convinced me to give my boy a treat and head there today.

It's a shame. The Robin Hood is quite close and could have been a new local for my son and I.

Will be very reluctant to come back.

One star for the clean look and excellent gelato, but everything else fell so short.

The pesto pasta and the marinara pastas are flavorless. The pesto is especially lacking in pesto flavor and was cooked in some cream sauce that diluted the flavor entirely. The marinara was extremely bland tasting.

Bruschetta was quite good and packing flavor.

Seafood basket was no too bad but the calamari was deep fried and soggy. Tartare sauce on the side had no flavor.

Steaks were completely dry.

Even the coke I ordered was mainly water. You could see through the actual cup, there was barely any opaqueness (or coke flavor).

The food LOOKS fantastic but falls so short on everything flavor-wise, I wouldn't bother coming back.

Absolute awesome little gem of a spot also owned by the group who own one of my local pubs 3 hours away so had thr same feel and food was just as great tasting.
Service was awesome and bartender was good for a chat since it wasnt to busy during the time we visited.

My partner and I went to the Robin Hood Hotel for dinner and it was fantastic. The venue was clean and the atmosphere was inviting. The food was delicious and the menu had heaps of options, some quite unorthadox like taco chicken schnitzel (which was delicious). The cocktails were quite expensive but they were worth it.
There was plenty of staff members and they all were all very friendly and attentive, and were always busy cleaning and looking after guests.
My only criticism is that the bathrooms were poorly maintained. Don't get me wrong - they were very clean but the locks in some stalls were broken, the toilet paper holder fell open on you when you tried to use it, and the buttons were dodgy. As I was leaving I was chatting to a staff member and she informed me that there were newer bathrooms down a different hallway but as I was leaving I didn't get the chance to check them out.

I ordered a sirloin stake can someone tell me when this cut of meat had a gigantic bone in it, and as for it being 350grams half of it must have gone a miss, my wife odered a gluten free hamburger, the bun was that hard you could brake it in half with your hands, and the chips had that much chicken salt on them that we never asked for. I am never one to winge but what a absolute waste of money, great place wonderful atmosphere but never again

Definitely a nicer atmosphere now but the menu is nowhere near as good as it used to be. It's just "okay".
We also experienced a lack in customer service as everyone at our table had received food but us, when we went and asked about it the staff said the number of our buzzer had been written down wrong but they figured we would be back eventually. I get that it was a busy night but they had staff clearing tables pretty consistently so I'm sure once they realised this problem they should've looked out for the table where everyone else had received their food. Or at least handled it a bit better and more apologetic. How were we supposed to know what had happened?
Thankfully they remade our food and gave us a refund for our entree.
Wasn't the best impression for the new set up unfortunately. Will go back again but hopefully it won't be as much of a hassle as it was this time.

Attended the bistro for dinner. A little disconcerting that one had to check a list at the entrance to find where you were seated. Being our first visit, we had no idea of the layout of the establishment. However a member of the staff pointed us in the right direction. The 5 star rating is for the meal. For a bistro within a pub, the meal was excellent. It was well presented and available much faster than expected, as the bistro was extremely busy. Overall, a pleasant meal in a popular hotel.

We went there for our son's birthday as it was his pick on his special day.

The steaks were ordered med-well but were so extremely overcooked, they were dry and tough. We did take them home but our cat couldn't eat it, so our dog did. If only we were German shepherd's!

Overall the seven were very good. Good value and quick.

All out the best place to eat in NSW. A brilliant atmosphere. Definitely worth a trip for locals and anyone visiting. We visit any time we're in Orange and have never been disappointed. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Edit: disregard the above. After a second meal fully comped by the owner (who could learn a thing or two about customer service from his staff!) when Stan the licensee had pleaded with us to come back (after they butchered our meals 5 times in a row), we've decided not to visit ever again. The kitchen staff would struggle to boil an egg without getting it wrong. The service might be lovely but the food is atrocious. Save your money, we'll never be wasting our time visiting here again. No amount of great customer service can fix the horrible food the kitchen is determined to send out to paying customers. The Robin Hood Hotel Orange steals from the customer and gives to the garbage bin. Such a huge disappointment from what this establishment used to be.

We used to love coming to the robin hood. Used to have great meals, and at a good price for the serving.

Unfortunately since being taken over by the new owners, the food quality has declined. The steak we ordered the other night was not cooked well at all (almost as if they had heated it up in a microwave and painted the grill marks on it) and the chips were stone cold.

The waitress told us off for not wearing our masks, when we had drinks at the table! She told us we can only take off our masks when we had a sip of our drinks, which I know at other venues is not the case! She did not however say anything to the other tables with people not wearing masks and talking to one another, even though they had no drinks or food in front of them! On top of this, the manor in which she told us this was condescending and down right rude.
The other staff there have always been nice and warm and friendly, and have never had an issue, so this was a great shock to us and I have to say really ruined our night.

On a positive note, the new owners have done a very nice looking outdoor area out the front, which is very attractive and would be a lovely spot to sit in summer.

I am willing to give it another go in a few months, but the food does need improvement and our waitress needs to be taught some basic principles of quality customer service.

Awesome eye-fillet steak, lamb shank meat dropped off the bone like butter and big serving of chicken Caesar salad. Everything was very tasty. Good family vibes too.

Excellent place for a quiet drink and relax. Went there for lunch on Monday 12/04 and for dinner on the 13/04. The meals were great and there was more on the plate than I could eat. My family and I enjoyed it there very much. Will go again next time I go to Orange.

Friendly place with a big menu at good prices. Good selection of beer and drinks and a great enclosed playground for kids.Love having lunch here.

Food is amaaaazing

Huge internal space. Bistro is quick. Wine list is quite reasonable. Spirit list is a little light on. Most staff very polite. Ran into one who was not.

Great food on Fathers day, table of 6 was served up very fast and very yummy, no complaints at all

Was recommended this place by the hotel we stayed at, unfortunately we listened to them and booked a meal.

The American style bbq ribs priced at $33 were absolutely terrible, it was just a sickly sweet sauce over some dog food.

The other meal we got was the crispy skin pork, we noticed the skin was rubbery so asked that they re-do it. It came back three minutes later, the chef had taken a blowtorch to the top. But the actual meat was still undercooked. After explaining why we couldn't eat it to three different staff members, they put a $20 note on our table.

Yum. Won't be going back.

Lovely atmosphere. Family friendly. Always enjoy having dinner here when visiting Orange. Huge portions for mains which is always good. Reasonable price. Good value! Crocodile dish was delicious :)
