We used to love coming to the robin hood. Used to have great meals, and at a good price for the serving.
Unfortunately since being taken over by the new owners, the food quality has declined. The steak we ordered the other night was not cooked well at all (almost as if they had heated it up in a microwave and painted the grill marks on it) and the chips were stone cold.
The waitress told us off for not wearing our masks, when we had drinks at the table! She told us we can only take off our masks when we had a sip of our drinks, which I know at other venues is not the case! She did not however say anything to the other tables with people not wearing masks and talking to one another, even though they had no drinks or food in front of them! On top of this, the manor in which she told us this was condescending and down right rude.
The other staff there have always been nice and warm and friendly, and have never had an issue, so this was a great shock to us and I have to say really ruined our night.
On a positive note, the new owners have done a very nice looking outdoor area out the front, which is very attractive and would be a lovely spot to sit in summer.
I am willing to give it another go in a few months, but the food does need improvement and our waitress needs to be taught some basic principles of quality customer service.
