A hidden gem! A spontaneous drive past discovery not based on anything published online. A hotel with such an interesting history, and welcoming comfortable vibe. Lovely lady on reception was friendly and accommodating. Would return in a heartbeat for some 'time out'. Haven't felt so relaxed anywhere else in a long while. A glass of wine on the front lawn is a perfect and peaceful unwind. I work in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry.and am usually more critical but this hotel was history and character while still being modern, clean and comfortable.

It was amazing place to Celebrate my husband 65 th birthday I Recommend go for drive Bowral town. Nice cafe and shop . Robertson hotel was excellent. As soon we arrived we are greeted with lovely happy smiles with front desk and staff were lovely and friendly. We did walk around the garden and nice lovely pool areas. At night we seat at the bar for a nice cocktail and husband have a beer. Buffet Breakfast was so good with barrista coffee. I cant say any more - it was a beyond expectation of this hotel.
As someone who has been working in hospitality and hotels for more then 30 yrs, I like to share my experience on this hotel. I recommend this hotel was excellent. only one thing on this hotel my comment is room don't have air in the room . I still give the hotel 4.5 ?????

Great lunch place with Cafe menu, dinner menu looks good as well. Beautiful iconic building with loads of charm. Accomodated our car club easily and for a group, a special fixed menu can be arranged. A great destination.

A very mixed experience, but overall overpriced for the quality of the rooms and some of the hotel's other features.

Major cons - Woman who checked us in on the Friday afternoon could barely have been less welcoming (hard to believe that it was the regular staffer); not having food options available because Xmas in July is operating is poor, doubly so in a town with few options; rooms have some charm but grubby and below par in places; no coffee in rooms.

Pros - Food and bevvy staff were excellent; Food (when available) was quality.

We recently got married at the hotel and could not speak more highly of the venue, the staff, the accommodation, and the food.

We would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of hosting an event here. We and all of our guests found the staff were so accommodating of our requests, while also being so attentive, polite and friendly. We had the hotel/events at the hotel from Friday to Sunday and the staff were nothing short of perfect. We also have to mention the event coordinator who helps with any event held at the hotel. Rebecca made the day run so smoothly and it helped the day be completely stress free.

We were a group of four staying at Robertson Hotel last Thursday the 27th of July ,we had a lovely time exploring the grounds, beautiful old building all its nooks and crannies , stained glass windows .
I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional staff who went out of their way to make us feel special ,loved every minute and will definetly stay again and again .

I previously rated the Robertson 4 stars, however I am now downgrading it to 2, after a particularly unpleasant incident with a rude security guard there - AND no reply when I wrote to the managers about this. There are of course many upsides of the Robertson - the location and aesthetic are charming... and their Italian male host is exceptional - a real asset to the place. However, The Robertson is very hit and miss with the service. I have now had two extremely unpleasant interactions with two separate staff members here. That is a lot for one place, and I now cannot write it off as 'just one bad egg'. What a shame.

We enjoyed a very nice Devonshire tea at this beautiful hotel. The only thing that outshone the scones, building and the gorgeous gardens, was the amazing service from the two Sarah's. The Sarah who greeted us and looked after us during our brief visit and the Sarah who served us our scones. They added immensely to the enjoyment of our experience. Thank you ladies, much appreciated!

My husband and I booked the Robertson Hotel for our wedding in May, we really wanted a mini-destination vibe.
All of our guests are still talking about the hotel, the location, the staff and the food!
Megan (Hotel wedding planner) was amazing, it rained and she still made the show go on, even arranging to move our arbour inside behind the sweetheart table for the reception after. Quentin had such an eye for detail and setting up our outdoor ceremony, and Michelle was a wonder - she made sure my glass was full all night!
The waitstaff in the reception area were attentive to all our guests and were aware of all dietary requirements. The food was to die for, I heard not one single complaint, the chef just nailed every meal.
It is a heritage hotel, so it has it quirks, but it was so worth it for the character it brought to our big day - we barely had to do anything to it, our photos just encapsulate the beauty this hotel has to offer!
Thank you to all of the team again. We cant wait to come back and stay for a weekend to reminisce about the weekend that was!

The Hotel must have been great in it's prime. Much work needs to be done on the building yet it has some amazing charm and character. Would love to revisit it again after some much needed care is given.

I had a wonderful experience at the Robertson Hotel. The grounds are tranquil and mysterious like a fairy bower... a wonderful place for retreat and communion with nature. My room was exceptionally comfortable and the art deco styled bathroom was HUGE, with great water pressure and a feeling of luxury. The breakfast was tasty, and the light-filled dining room with the white wicker furniture and vases of pink and blue Hydrangeas set the scene for relaxation. I loved the inner rooms of the hotel, with the old paintings and prints and wallpaper with vintage furniture. The only thing I need to point out is that there is no lift to the rooms upstairs so if you have a lot of luggage you will need to lug it up the stairs. Having said that, the steps themselves were low so it is an easy walk up the stair case. The staff were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and friendly too. Full marks. Not only will I go back, I will recommend the Robertson Hotel to my friends and family. I had a one night stay but I had a wonderful experience. Thank you.

How does a hotel in 2023 not provide Air conditioning or fans in any of the hotel rooms is beyond me. The whole family could barely sleep in the heat. The place needs better care, don't offer the pool to guests if you aren't bothered cleaning it, no one wants to swim in leaves and dead bugs. Your restaurant staff need to pay close attention to the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as there were dead flies by the Window. The owners of this place need to invest more time so the stay is actually enjoyable for guests and buy some FANS!!

My husband and I booked the Robertson Hotel for our wedding day. We exclusively booked the hotel for the whole weekend (Friday to Sunday). All our guests just raved about the hotel, the staff and the food. The lead up to our wedding was so relaxed and we had no concerns whatsoever. Belinda (Hotel wedding planner) was amazing and was on the ball all weekend. Quentin had such an eye for detail (He was honestly measuring the distance between ceremony chairs with a ruler - wow! it was absolute perfection). The waitstaff in the reception area were attentive to all our guests and were aware of all dietary requirements. The food was to die for - 100 guests and the chef just nailed every meal.

We can not fault the hotel at all including the lead up, during and after our wedding. The whole process was smooth and easy. Our photos just encapsulate the beauty this hotel has to offer!

Thank you to all of the team again. We cant wait to come back and stay for a weekend to reminisce about the weekend that was!

I was fortunate to have a Christmas family lunch at the grand and iconic Robertson Hotel recently and it truly took my breath away. The lush pristine grass and old English gardens, magnificent views, mouthwatering menu that went on and on (compliments to the Chef), the high standard of service and in guest interaction is now rare to find - this is service at its best.

The cost is so reasonable and if you are a local, you must try this Long Sunday Lunch - as you will not be disappointed. The extra effort to decorate the table with Christmas ornaments - was the touch on the icing from the staff. It is just 40 minutes from Sydney and accommodation can be secured and the Hotel is located just around the corner for locals. We even played croquet, had a tour of the hotel showing off its high ceilings, 5 huge fireplace and some show pieces of magnificent touches of real silver pieces which will take you back in time that oozes sophistication.
Plus, don't forget the residential birds and a beautiful grotto build when the Hotel was a Monastery.
Can't recommend it enough and will be back again.

The hotel felt like a manor house in Europe. The owners have maintained the old world charm. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. There are four open fires, creating a really cozy atmosphere. The beds are comfortable. We had a shared bathroom, which was fine. The showers are clean and have good water pressure. The buffet breakfast was great. We had a really relaxing and lovely stay.

We had our wedding at the Robertson Hotel last weekend. It was amazing. Firstly, I'd like to specifically call out Belinda, James, and the bar staff who were so helpful, and quick to assist in any way they could. The food was excellent, and the service amazing. When it started raining just before the ceremony (which was meant to be outside), they immediately with the Florist/Stylist moved everything inside, and it was as though it was meant to be in ballroom all along! They made the day run so smoothly and wonderfully. I can't thank them enough for such a beautiful evening.

We hosted a book launch event in the lounge at the Robertson Hotel. The staff were so welcoming and helpful on the night and the catering was superb. The hotel was able to make modifications for us to cater to our requests and their flexibility was much appreciated. Not only was the food spectacular, the bar even put on some special themed cocktails for the night. Our thanks to the Team, Belinda, the kitchen staff, and front staff.

It was my wife's birthday and to celebrate, we drove up to the Highlands
with two dear friends and we enjoyed a delicious meal on the verandah of the Robertson Hotel. The food, the service and the atmosphere were all wonderful. A++ Sincere thanks to all of the staff. We were delighted with the day's experiences.

Booked Xmas in July dinner last Saturday with two other couples from Sydney and decided to stay the night. The advertised meal sounded great and we were really looking forward to a mid-year celebration. While the hotel staff including reception, waiters, cleaning and bar were cheerful, friendly, polite and respectful, the meal was a complete disaster. To paint a picture, the cheese entree looked like a melted blob, the only item from the main meal that even resembled the menu was the salad and the dessert was courtesy of 'Sarah Lee' and burnt. Honestly and jokes aside, the main meal resembled something akin to prison slop or something you would mash up and give to your dog. We were told that the hotel/kitchen was short staffed but that was no excuse for the dismal quality and presentation. We did complain and were offered a refund and free bottle of wine but all we accepted in fairness was to pay no more than the original deposit. I would not recommend anyone have a function there unless they employ a new Chef and/or kitchen staff. The rooms were OK but hot, no power points in the bathroom and could not close curtains to window facing east so the sun woke us early. Breakfast on the other hand was quite nice and plentiful although the coffee machine needed cleaning and the coffee only just warm.

It is a long time since I have been to this venue, and not in it's present form. The new owners have done an excellent job restoring this grand old property and although we went to a locals dinner, the place was beautifully decorated for Christmas in July. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious and far exceeded any expectations that we may have had of a simple locals night out. They are doing a great job, long may it last!

The Christmas ? decorations are elegantly styled throughout the foyer, lounge, dinning and bar area and the the grand fireplaces ??"? in every room create a most warm, wonderful ambience.
The charming manager Luca was there the whole time ensuring that everything was perfect! Amazing place with amazing staff!
I highly recommend the Winter ? Christmas experience - I will definitely be back next year

Another lovely visit to the Robertson Hotel cafe. Wonderful, friendly staff, great food, relaxing setting and ambiance. The menu offered a good selection and provides good value. Our family visiting from Sydney loved it! We are looking forward to our next visit.

Straight out the place has a bad energy attached to it! I am not normally sensitive to bad energies but this place had me spooked.

The night we stayed there i had nightmares and woke up to a feeling of something watching me sleeping. I couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning. To make it worse my nightmare was staged in the hotel in a room that I did not see or enter until the morning for breakfast.

My husband had left his wedding band there. It took staff over a month to send it back to us after multiple phone calls where they confirmed they have it and will post it out. Once his ring arrived home unknowingly my husband had it on his bedside table and that night i had nightmares and my 2 small children were so unsettled and crying in their sleep during the night. I had my husband's ring cleared and it was confirmed that something of a horrible nature was attached to the ring!.

Never again will i go near this place!!!!! It needs a serious cleansing!

As a visitor to Robertson for the weekend, i looked for somewhere really nice to have dinner. The Robertson Hotel was suggested and so off we went. Wow what an experience - the Hotel itself is just incredible. Entering the restaurant i was impressed, Simple but Classy. The food was delicious, and the staff were there at a glance to take any order or request. Definitely will be back. Thank you :)

Stayed in the King Deluxe room. Very stylish and spacious room with an oldish, but quite authentic bathroom. Although the bathroom met our needs, it most certainly could be updated a bit and the toilet should be moved away from the shower area - there is space. The view from the room was very nice, looking out into the garden. Very comfortable bed, though it is extremely squeaky and wobbly and probably needs tightening up.

Would have loved room service, or a mini bar, or at the very least tea or coffee making facility in the room with some cookies and perhaps sparkling water provided gratis. Considering the cost of over $400 per night including breakfast, it really needs to add a little bit more in this way.

A lovely old building. Loved the sitting rooms with lit fireplaces. Great to lounge around, chill, have a drink and chat. The staff were all wonderful and did their best to look after us. Dining was nice with pretty good food and a nice dining room.

The grounds were well kept and pretty.

Overall had a very nice time there. Definitely worth the visit.
