Ordered beef schnitzels and asked for take away containers before even attempting to eat them, great size and great taste, and staff were very accomodating, will definately stop in again when ever we are in the area again next

Best food, service and atmosphere in Hay. Very highly recommended if you want to enjoy your stay in the city. My special mention to David for all the effort to ensure that everything was okay. We will come back in our next trip to Hay.

Drive into the main road & make sure you visit this gem. Went to the local off the main road to have dinner on our way back from Kangaroo Island & was told kids have to sit outside in 35 degrees so we went down to this hotel. So glad we found this place! Lovely vibe & not like the typical old, dusty smelly others around. Seating inside or outside, bistro opens at 6pm & variety from pizza to steak. We ordered garlic cheese pizza which was beautiful.. scotch fillets & t-bone, option to have salad with chips or home made pasta bake & veggies. All delicious, Friday night raffles were on & we joined in with the locals. Everyone so lovely & welcoming. Do yourself a favour & get a feed here.

Service was quick and very friendly. Food was delicious, huge portions and we didn't wait long at all! We definitely didn't walk away hungry. Definitely recommend if going through Hay.

Food was OK, but the food handling of the kitchen staff wasn't very sanitary. Had a view into the kitchen while we were seated... Wish that I didn't!

Nice little restaurant cosy atmosphere, Menu has all the usual pub meals you would expect. Price wise it's not cheap but not to expensive. Down side being no takeaways.

Excellent fresh food and friendly staff. Good atmosphere, relaxed. Definitely eorth the visit after a long day.

Stopped at the Riverina Hotel in Hay for dinner. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with great service and a traditional pub meal. The meals were delivered to our table within 15 minutes, we didn't walk away hungry!

Very full, below average.
We ordered a grilled Barramundi that was chewy and harder than expected. At some stage, we thought it was rather a Bassa fillet. Maybe it was not freshly grilled. Dissapointing.
The second dish ordered was a flathead with chips. It was less fish than batter, but ok.
The grilled pork chops were very chewy. The chips were brownish, and a piece of bread with butter was a bit old to be served. The salad was very good, though!

Overall, it performs below expectations of a standard hotel dinner. It was very full and despite any stress the staff was very polite.

Unfortunately, the lack of good options for dining, it makes Hay unattractive for a future stay.

Lovely fresh meal at a great price. Amazing and friendly staff, couldn't be more helpful. A must stop Bistro if you are heading this way.

Every time I travel to Hay, I always grab a great pub meal from here. It's a country pub with friendly service and great meals! They are large and delicious! They have a great setup for their bistro and the venue has been upgraded. Will be back again I n the future.

What a lovely family style pub, we had a great lunch on a cold Sunday while travelling through.
They were very attentive to my oddball menu requests, extremely accommodating.
My Pork Roast (of the day) was delicious and Anna's grilled Barramundi with veg was also very good from what I heard, they were big serves and well priced.
Definitely will stop for a meal again i when passing through.

Typical pub food which was reasonable, although we had to wait quite a while for food when busy (nearly one hour). The food arrived staggered, so some dishes went cold by the time others came out. Staff were friendly nonetheless, salads were nice but the seafood basket could have been better.

A very popular eating spot in Hay. It's always busy. Tonight the service was slow and the adjoining pub wouldn't even supply tap water to us!! But the staff in the bistro were helpful. The serves of food were huge, and neither of us could finish the meal.
The veal schnitzel was delicious, fresh prepared, succulent with a crisp crumb and served with lots of chips and salad. The lamb shank was delicious but tepid. Served with cool veges.

A really decent country pub. The Bistro food is standard country fare, and the local clientele a great bunch. A good pool table and great jukebox. What more can you ask for! Worth it ?

Disappointing. Small meal portions, when we were expecting a large meal at the end of a long drive. Meat quality is good, fresh country meat. Salad and chips not so good. Friendly staff and good service in the bistro partially make up for these shortcomings. Front Bar is unwelcoming but at least the beer is ice cold. Ate here a few years back and the food was true country size and quality. Unfortunately we're unlikely to return.

Just had a great meal and a cold beer all with friendly service

Dropped in for the lunch specials, got the sausages and mash, sausages we're pre cooked and reheated, the waitress said it was special mash, great...it was very special, only got a table spoon of mash. Kids got chips with their burgers, they seemed to have been refried as well, thinking now, the sausage may have been done in frier...the burgers looked good, should have got a burger instead of the sausage.

Great place to hang out in Hay. Friendly staff with generous sized and delicious oven baked pizzas!

Ice cold drinks, massive burger and a chicken schnitzel and chips covered in gravy that leave little room on the plate for mistake.Barely a dent in the wallet to have a nice lunch and break.Friendly staff, simple menu and relaxing atmosphere.(Dog and Vegetarian friendly)

Stopped unexpectedly in Hay due to atrocious rain, we were on motorbikes. We had lunch at the Riverina Hotel and called it a day for our riding, checked into the motel next door and back to the the Hotel for dinner and a few drinks. The staff and locals were all very friendly and engaged with us, making us feel very comfortable. Lunch and dinner was good at reasonable prices. Nice warm fire to dry out our clothes :)

Best bistro in town. Wood fired pizza only operates on selected nights and is bang on. Rib fillet steak with mushroom sauce excellent. Staff in the bistro are excellent. Highly recommended ??'?

The Bistro has a variety of meals to offer on the menu. I tried the Riv Big Grill at $35. Generous portions of meat. The chips were crisp. The steak was medium grilled. I found the steak slightly tough to chew. My companion ordered Pork Chops which were better value at $24. The service was prompt. Pleasant location to enjoy a pub meal in Hay. NSW.
