Revisited this pub in Rosewood after many years. Had lunch there. It was very busy with a bus load of Brisbanites visiting the scenic rim. Was pleasantly surprised by the meals. Didn't have to wait that long either given the large crowd.

Our favourite pub! Food is awesome.

Had a chicken schnitzel and hubby had a steak parmy. Both were great. Good sized meals with a fresh garden salad and chips. The outside of the pub looks great since the renovations.

A nice cosy hotel to stop for a delicious meal and dessert

Quiet and relaxed, nice locals, all very friendly. Building is what you'd expect from a small country town but has its charm. Can sit in the front garden bar and watch all of the local activity, did I mention how friendly the locals are.

External facelift looks great, insides very shabby. Service a bit lacklustre and mediocre meals

A very average pub. Bar person was efficient and helpful. $25 Parma was ok. Chips were bright yellow..so obviously some kind of E number added. Would have been ok for the price except for a another patron taking a piss against the wall of the 'beer garden ' totally put me off eating.

We had a group of 35 for dinner on Friday night. Everyone remarked on the great quality of the food. The meals, the service and the prices were excellent. Thank you to the chef, kitchen and service staff. Much appreciated. Definitely 5 star.

It always amazes me that you can get a better seafood basket in the country than at some over popular cafe on the coast

Always enjoy a meal here, I'm always full. And the weekly specials definitely are worth it.

found it disgraceful we were told could not eat in dinning area as a bus was coming so we were asked to eat in bar which tables and stool to high to eat from so we left...

Dropped in Sunday to Rosewood just. Outside Brisie, two pubs trading the rising sun hotel looks a wreak from outside but once inside pressed tin ceilings modern public bar and old style dinning room worth a lunch and a look they have accomadation

Classic small town pub, needs renovations too save the awesome old building. Staff always friendly and attentive.

A quaint little pub in Rosewood. Don't let the exterior dismay you. Nicely appointed public/sports bar. Nothing fancy, but got KENO, TAB and some pokies. Also, a beer garden, but the bar is inside. For a small pub, it has a good selection of tap beers, and tap RTD (Ready To Drink) spirits, and the prices are very reasonable - considering that they are outside a city area. I love the staff. Always welcoming, and friendly. I can't tell you what the food is like, as I have never dined there. But for a cold ale, or whatever you drink, check it out.

Great country hotel atmosphere. Had lunch there and the meals were big and hearty. The meat raffel was on and just added to the great vibe in the bar.

Very helpful and friendly staff. We had a 400g rump, chips and salad. Large meal very enjoyable worth a drive.

The meals were huge and delicious, I couldn't finish my meal.
Interior needs some work but staff is very friendly

The interior has been renovated but the outside is in sad repair, the area that has been done is nice.
The staff are lovely and welcoming, we only had drinks not food. If your a sports fan or racing fan it's set up well, however it lacked atmosphere and music.

Never judge a book by it's cover! Just had the most perfect meal! Try it asap..chef is awesome :)

Went to Rising Sun Hotel for dinner. Had 200g Steak with salad and chips. Cheesy garlic bread entree. The food was delicious, well presented, good value (2 steaks with salad &chips for $30 and the entree was another $7). The staff are very friendly, the service is good and the dining area is very neat and tidy.
