Went to this pub for an arvo dinner and was surprised at how good the food and service was. The chicken parmy was excellent, and there are a fine selection of on tap beers as well. Service was also friendly and warm with a fantastic vibe (the pool table is another cool addition). Good place to watch live sport as well. Will defs be back soon.

Great atmosphere with a great service and what make it even great is the foods here is AWESOME!! Foods come out quick and delicious!! So many great options on the menu, can't recomend more!

The burger was reasonably sized and quite good, but the chips came without salt. Ordering on my mobile while sitting at a table was convenient.

The bouncer claimed I was too drunk to be allowed in when I was stone cold sober, whereas all my other friends went straight in. Yes I am the only Chinese international student in the group. I don't want to play the racism card but I don't know any other possible reason.

Have another really good night at the pub. Staff have been so lovely and helpful. Atmosphere lovely. Cant say enough (and I do t usually review placed)

Introduction: It is with great disappointment that I recount my recent visit to The Regent. Regrettably, my expectations for a pleasant dining experience were shattered due to the deplorable behavior exhibited by the staff and the underwhelming quality of the food. This review aims to provide an honest account of the numerous issues encountered during my visit.

Service: The service was nothing short of abysmal. From the moment I entered, it was apparent that the staff had no interest in ensuring a pleasant experience for their customers. Their demeanor was consistently rude, bordering on outright hostility. My attempts to engage with them were met with curt responses and a complete lack of professionalism.

Wait times were excruciatingly long, despite the pub being relatively empty. The staff seemed disorganized, and it was clear that communication among them was lacking. Basic requests went ignored, and I was left feeling neglected and unimportant. It is disheartening to witness such an apathetic and disrespectful attitude towards customers.

Ambiance: The atmosphere further added to the disappointment. The interior was dimly lit, giving the pub a gloomy and unwelcoming vibe. The seating arrangements were uncomfortable, making it difficult to relax and enjoy the evening. The overall lack of attention to detail in the decor only served to reinforce the pub's overall lackluster ambiance.

Food: The food was a letdown on multiple fronts. The menu boasted a selection of dishes, but the execution fell far short of expectations. The quality of the ingredients used was subpar, resulting in lackluster flavors and a general lack of freshness. It became evident that corners were cut in the preparation and presentation of the dishes.

The meals arrived cold, indicating a lack of attention to timing in the kitchen. The portion sizes were meager, considering the prices charged. To add insult to injury, the menu descriptions did not accurately reflect what was ultimately served. The overall lack of culinary expertise and attention to detail left a bitter taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally.

In my experience, the Rege failed to deliver even the most basic elements of a satisfactory dining experience. The rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff, coupled with the underwhelming quality of the food, made it an evening to forget. As a patron, I expected a welcoming environment, attentive service, and well-prepared cuisine, none of which were provided.

I would strongly advise against visiting this pub, as it is evident that they have little regard for customer satisfaction. There are numerous other establishments that prioritize their patrons and offer a superior dining experience (Doncaster). Spare yourself the disappointment and seek out an alternative venue that values its customers and takes pride in its culinary offerings.

called and asked if they are show NBA play-off - and they said if it is on ESPN they can put it on for us! Both ladies were super lovely and brought water for our dog. Great pub to watch sports and get food at an affordable price!

I have been coming into the regent hotel for over 10 years and I have grown to expect the same experience every time. Outstanding.
The people that fill this establishment are dedicated to everyone that comes through these doors every day and every night no matter who they are and there's a real sense of community in the pub that unites everyone around it. Whether it's the University crowd or the locals everyone knows that the rege is a great local to head to and have a fantastic night.

Great bar - we got the 5 spices pork and rice it was next level! The crispy kale was unreal! Chef is very talented and also was keen to know his customers and ensure that they were getting a good service ! Top bloke ??'?

They should rename to REGRET, because you will defo regret the visit this place.... cheese steak sando was absolutely bland and burger was mediocre... bartender know nothing about beer at all... for some reason they had urge to keep everything from table asap feels like we should leave...

Unfortunately not one of the nicest pubs. I understand that it's dog friendly, but to have dogs running throughout the place off a leash while people are trying to eat doesn't feel the most hygienic. The dirty smell of the venue was a bit of a turn off. The food took a while to come out, the serving size of the schnitzel was huge however both the schnitzel and slaw were so dry that it was almost inedible. The almost $200 we spent on food and drinks was definitely not worth it.

Had a great time. Staff were accommodating with our table, the food was timed and tasted to perfection, the 6 of us who got stakes gave it a 10/10 , the other 2 went for the chicken and loved it. Top night. Recommend it to everyone, especially if your a group seeking a complete time at one venue.

Excellent staff, the lovely lady at the bar was very helpful. Informed us that the meals had a long wait. Look forward to dinner there another day.

Always try the tap beers in Sydney, pure blonde and VB is recommended by me ? if u into sweets then try the ginger beer ?
Market fish is yumm! But try the pork belly it's so good ?

Food was nice. Sniztel was very juicy!!!! Better than others I have tried.
Pizza was nice. The tomatoe sauce or paste was fresh the next day too.

Best bang for your buck when it comes to pub food. Big servings at very reasonable prices, plus a bunch of food specials that rotate weekly. Team is also super relaxed and friendly !

Old reliable. Food is pretty good and the beer is priced well. Definitely a right of passage for any UNSW student!

Great pub! Really good food, dog friendly (they even have doggie treats behind the bar!) and really good customer service! The guys who work there seem so pleased to be there, which is so good to see! Would recommend booking in advance as they were a full house in the dog friendly area. There's pool, a separate smoking section away from the food, TVs so equipped to show sports and big events. Definitely visit again

Friendly staff, great burger. Chips recooked so not fab. House shiraz horrible (no excuse for that in Australia where good cheap shiraz is plentiful). Very nice local feel. Steak pretty good. Dog friendly which means the chips and shiraz are forgiven. The 'beer garden' is a smoking/no eating area.

It's a pub. It's a Uni pub. People go there for work lunches and after work, and like most pubs like this. It's reasonably maintained for an older pub like this (traditional Sydney hotel), had the usual tap beer, drinks and pub grub options. We got there late for lunch, had to wait way too long for a couple of hamburgers, and their usual pizzas weren't an option. If you know the 'Rege' you don't need my opinion, otherwise it is average.

Arrived on my own mid-afternoon and had 2 glasses of wine. Got strange looks from the fair-haired lady behind the bar. I Felt ill at ease and was glad to leave. Won't be back either on my own or with company.

Dropped in for a few beers with mates, they have beers in jugs so you save a bit of coin. You can bring your fury friend with you the staff are super super friendly was so impressed when they brought over a bowl of water for the dog. Didn't get a chance to try the food, but the menu had a great variety and they have just bought back Karaoke. Good local with a variety of beers and food with is pooch friendly.
