A group of us (about 16) travel up from Gosford every year, for golf and the races. We always stay at the Railway Hotel and are always made to feel welcome by the wonderful publican and his staff. Last November was no different. The beer was cold and the food terrific. I'd like to thank in particular, Sarah and Kylie. Their happy demeanour and welcoming service made our stay really enjoyable. I'd recommend the Railway to anyone. We'll be back again this year for sure.

Was staying in Muswellbrook for the weekend. Went to get dinner and a drink at the Railway Hotel on a hot evening only to discover that the restaurant wasn't offering a dinner menu. The Manager said they had a busy lunch rush and no food left for the dinner service. Absolutely ridiculous! On a Saturday night too. Never be back

Best feed I have had in a long long time , good prices and back beer garden was great around the fire and looking at all the thing on the walls .

Friendly staff. A good meal at a reasonable price. Had the Veal chop. Tender, tasty and superbly cooked

I was real happy with my experience, danniele the bar manager offered to go out of her way and come in at 7am to give me my keys as I was doing nightshift, was a wonderful to chat with after work and a beautiful person, the other staff member who I didn't catch her name was so polite and helpful, and is hot AF, the kitchen staff were fantastic and made great meals for me, all in all I recommend to anyone working away for work or just for a great stay.. again the staff a all baddies, spesh the blondie whatever her name is! Go stay they're, 50 bucks a night is a steal

A great family-friendly local pub! The place has a lovely beer garden with countless antique items to see:) our kids loved their big chalkboard and seeing parrots:) We held a beautiful event at the pub and loved every part of it including the experience and facilities! They put some thought into this cosy, family-friendly and unique pub!!!

The staff at this pub, along with the owner deserve a review the place caters for the last person in the pub and the beer wow some place just have it figured out and this is one of them. I'd put up a picture of a beer but it's that good this is all I got!

Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable atmosphere, interesting decor, fire pit outside, entertainment inside, cold and crisp beer on tap. Food was delicious with a familiar home cooked feel. Well recommended.

I ordered the homemade rissoles with pumpkin and potato mash (separate) with peas and gravy. It was piping hot, with two rissoles the size of a lady's fist. Absolutely the best food I have been served in a long time! Delicious and well done!

An absolute kip accommodation wise, a pure Den. I wouldn't expect my dog to sleep there. The 'communal' toilets are something out of trainspotting and the rooms are as old as the coal mines in the area. It's the cheapest in town for a reason. Needs to be knocked. Won't let me add pictures unfortunately. Absolute disgrace to even charge people to stay in this place

All staff were pleasant and polite. We ordered some dinner which was delicious and reasonably priced. My boyfriend was happy with his cold beer. A great little country pub.

Unfriendly dog that is allowed inside and is loose so is not very appropriate for a pub

Great pub, wonderful friendly staff and I really enjoyed the food. Patrons were also friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Had a work xmas party here last week it was a little disappointing the blonde girl behind the bar with the big nose felt the need to cut people off who had only had a few drinks then to make matters worse her friend then attacked people. It was very unprofessional to say the least. Its a real shame as the back area is a good place to hold a party

Terrible still no carpet. Same old thing it was before. Was supposed to be better than all the other venues in town still 12 months on stuck in the same rut. Its a good thing the royal has opened back up. Gives the punters somewhere to go.Must be time for a new manager. Everyones been there

Working away living out of bags. You get to try out all the local spots to eat. The meals are reasonable quality just way over priced for the location. If your changer higher end pub prices you need to be in a higher end put and unfortunately this isnt

We decided to check this place out after reading all the obviously fake 1-star reviews, to see for ourselves what all the fuss was about. We definitely weren't disappointed, the food was fantastic, not overpriced, and we couldn't even finish our meals because they were huge. The atmosphere in the beer garden was fun and unique, and the staff made us feel super welcome and ended up chatting for ages. A really memorable experience, we're really glad we visited this pub!
