Try the pork hock, chicken satay and duck Penang curry. Loved them myself ????

At the time of writing this, the Railway Hotel is not open as a pub, the restaurant is, as "Ocha". A blend of Thai and Japanese.
Although the menu isn't huge, it is pretty impressive. We had Beef Teppanyaki and a Sashimi Bowl. Washed down with a Tiger beer. Plenty on the plate, and bowl. Very tasty, pity it's tucked away in a quiet part of Vincent Street, opposite the bus depot.
Nice attentive staff, friendly cooking staff too.
This place is good, and highly recommended.

This was the only place open in Cessnock to get dinner on Christmas eve. We'd heard good things about this place so instead of driving to Pokolbin, we decided to eat here.

My beef panang curry and chicken fried rice were better than average but my friends were served cold raw fried chicken. Although the lady at the front desk tried to give us a refund and swap the dish, the chefs in the kitchen were in denial of both ideas and insisted on recooking the leftover chicken pieces for us.

We were the only guests at the restaurant, it was a pretty dead vibe and the food was not very freshly prepared...

Shared three small dishes and a bowl of rice for lunch with my daughter. Quite a filling meal. Was opened before midday and the staff member who served us gave us some explanations on the dishes and recommended ones to try in the future. Only thing that I would suggest is to ask if they could bring the rice out first as the dishes came out staggered and it was brought out with the final dish. I would definitely go back when I am in Cessnock again.

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff could not of been more helpful or polite.
This restaurant has had a major overhaul and is so welcoming.

Great new Thai "Joy" Restaurant located @ The Railway Hotel, forget the exterior, the food is fantastic, fast, full of flavour and delicious. Packed well for travel to take-away. Will be a regular from now on. Do yourself a favour and try it.

Pulled pork burritos and chicken parmigiana were amazing, especially the salad dressing, just so yum! Generous serving, good price, and friendly staff.

New menu from a talented chef! Delicious fresh Asian cuisine & pub food. Succulent Korean fried chicken, loaded Thai fried rice, sizzling beef, soups, wontons, noodles and everything in between. Definitely worth a try with reasonable prices and generous servings.

The Thai food is exceptional best ever!! The pub itself is filthy had not been cleaned from.previous night it was disgusting the toilets were a disgrace. Apparently there is no cleaner so its not done. Such a shame when the food is so good.

What a hidden gem. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
The food was delicious, we were passing through around 5pm and needed something to eat very rare to find something at that time. Will be back to enjoy other things on the menu.

Great Food and service! The Railway Deluxe Burger is my favourite. Me and my social group love to come here whenever we can! isn't it ironic that a train buff like myself likes to dine in there?

Used to be great unfortunately new management is running this place into the ground unfortunately don't recommend this place anymore due to new lisencee need to get health inspectors to check he's business again he's unhealthy dirty infested views always seem to go the same way so sad to see a great place fall into the wrong hands again

Well done comes with blood n salad...burnt steak...... continues of being only red leaf lettuce no tomatoes no onion no cucumber n fully coated with mustard....who da BUCK ordered mustard

A bit old and run down. Wasn't expecting much to be honest, only stopped by for a quencher. Wasn't busy so was served quickly, just missed the kitchen as it closed at 2pm on Monday.

Food was good but the service was ordinary. They do have a great shot menu

We came from Sydney for a work trip, and after finding out that our original hotel was closed down, you guys were so accommodating and put us up for the next 2 nights. Lovely team & atmosphere! :)Paige & Mitch
