Basic rooms, but very comfy, had no problem with noise from pub and it was a busy night. Had a great feed there and met some very friendly people. Staff very helpful, special mention to domestic girls they couldn't do enough for us when we needed something. Perfect stopover.

DISGRACE TO TOURISM.
Traveling with 2 young children and a dog.
We were put in the smokers area near broken glass tube lights.
Male Chef told us that we couldn't sit in smoking area while eating so we moved to non smoking outdoor area
Where we saw another couple with a dog so thought it would be ok!
After ordering our meal we were rudely told by a woman (no lady) to move back to the smoking area.
While another woman who worked there too was walking her dog and cat through the pub and the area we couldn't sit in. Then saw the same dog inside the air conditioned eating area with other guests, While the woman was cutting a pizza.

Hats off to the male chef for putting up with them

We booked last minute and friendly Hannah checked us in, we then had a pub meal which was big and tasty. Music a bit too loud. The twin room was good . Thanks for your hospitality

For someone who doesn't drink a lot I seem to do plenty of outback pub reviews. The purple pub is yet another of Australia's iconic outback pubs. While it's certainly not my favourite and doesn't seem to have the atmosphere or service of other pubs like Birdsville or Daly Waters or pretty much any other pub, it is quite famous and its really just for that reason I would come in here, just to tick it off the list.
