We stayed here on Friday night.
Before I write review, I want to thank Jack for doing his best and being so helpful.
As for the room/s we were very disgusted by the filthy state of them. The first room we were given had a very foul smell, then I saw the big stain on the bedspread that appeared to be a fecal stain.
Jack then moved us to a second room, but as he opened the door and we went in, there was rubbish on the bench, dirty linen on the floor and a bin full of rubbish as well, it also had a very bad smell.
Jack themoved us to a 3rd room. This is where I was left feeling more disgusted. No pillowcases on the stained pillows, stick carpets, a broken toilet seat, mould on the ceilings, stick stains on the bedside table, TV remote could only turn the TV on or off.
The curtains were torn and dirty and again it stunk.
We were told there would be a microwave in the room for me to heat our meals, but there wasn't.
How the health department hasn't stepped in is beyond me.
At $140 per night it was not justifiable.

The rooms are old and gross.
I wouldn't stay there again.
Spiders everywhere even wrapped in supposedly clean towels.
Taped up shower head.
Party room was freezing cold.
Not enough staff on for a party booking. Long waits for drinks.
Meals were good.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother's Day! The Mother's Day brunch was delicious. It was a great way to spend Mother's Day with my mother in law. would definitely recommend this place. staff was friendly and service was excellent. definitely we will come back. cheers.

Before I write the review I would like to thank the staff for their endless patience to be overworked and underpaid in this dog water establishment, clearly though management don't care about their staff at all and expect the staff to deal with the chaotic mess that management have left for them.

Mother's day my extended family about 15+ people went to enjoy a mother's day celebration and while the three staff were so understanding and helpful I couldn't help feeling sorry for them for being so under the pump, however they were clearly understaffed to deal with the chaos, after waiting for well over an hour for food to start coming including warm bread and butter which was frozen in the center and mussels that weren't even attempted to be cooked correctly, now I don't really blame the chefs for this as they were well overburdened by the amount of food orders coming in but this issue continued to persist including having one of the dishes returned to the kitchen more then once so I wished to speak to the manger but surprise surprise the management didnt think they were needed on such a busy occasion.

Overall, I won't be coming to this venue anytime soon nor will I be recomming this place to anyone and I hope the staff that worked that day have enough self respect to tell management they shouldn't be subjected to such treatment

0.1/10 because I can't get behind greedy Aussie business owners taking advantage of the every man and I wish all the best to the staff that worked there on that chaotic day

Still waiting for my meal. Everyone at the table finished eating 20 minutes ago. The staff that are here are working really hard. Looks like they don't want to pay penalty rates on mother's day and therefore under staffed. Would not recommend. One of our friends pasta had to be returned twice. Inedible.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at the Peninsula hotel last Friday and Saturday night 23 and 24 of February. We have never stayed in such a disgusting place I don't think that it has been cleaned for ages. Went to put the electric blanket on the control was there but no blanket. Then the bed lamp would not work no globe water leaks in the bathroom and very dirty even the shower door would not close as for coffee, tea ,sugar and milk 3 of each and that was for the both days for 2 people. Ask for clean towels only to be told that they had none. One poor couple did not even get towels. When asked for more coffee, tea, sugar and milk they wanted $10. Another guest asked for a toaster that was also $10 . I did not receive a globe for the lamp as I was told that they are $10. And them stupid locks on the doors after complaining about the rooms Saturday morning and we were not nasty about it. Came back Saturday night and we could not get into our rooms. Had to get them to come over to let us in . We were not the only ones to complain the other guests did also. We are fairly sure that we were locked out
As far as we know the other guests that stay there for that weekend will never be back. Don't even think that there was a vacuum cleaner for the floors.

We had dinner last night and they were all beautiful meals. Steaks, chicken snitzel and seafood platter plus lovely salads and veggies. The staff and service were excellent. Very friendly and helpful We used to be regulars and we heard Meals etc had improved and we are so pleased to find that's true.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was nice. It is child friendly with a playground.

Had a lovely meal service was prompt and lovely atmosphere

First time we've been here in 20yrs.
Our meals were served quickly and both cooked just the right amount.
I had the salmon, my wife chose Chicken Kiev.
The girl who served us came and checked how the meals were and if we were happy.
Great service.
We'll be back regularly because it's local.

Last night went here for my brothers birthday dinner
First off we ordered our meals at about 6:20 to not receive them till 7:45
When me and my older sister got our meals (chicken keiv) we had cut into the middle of it and saw it was completely raw on the inside (I'm 35 weeks pregnant) we had sent them back to get remade but then was told they had completely ran out of chicken so we decided to get our money back
This place has definitely gone down hill

It's a great place to go to with the fellas, have a nice little feed and some beers ( needs american beers) listen to some rough lookin sheila screech on the mic during karaoke, have some wasp tell you their life story in the small smoking area and just watch the creatures roll in.. Their is a bus that can drop you home or close enough.. it's not a a bad place.. Pokies room has a depressing Vibe but then again most do right? I met and saw the Slap King there and it was an absolute Privilege cheers guys.

Great menu , chicken schnitzel was absolutely beautiful and very fresh. The cob loaf was a little different from a few weeks ago, but it's so fresh and really easy to cut now. Family loved all meals thanks , meals are better than they have ever been

We had lunch here. The meals were tasty and quite large. Jett the waiter was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for him. Thanks Jett

Look I am going to be honest, new owners have just bought and while they have not taken over it looks like this wonderful place is going to lose its menu and charm. Today there was no wine menu, drink variety was limited and the staff could do nothing about it. We ate outside and weren't even allowed to buy from the attached bottle shop 6 feet away. Food was amazing and staff were great but when Black Rhino take over it may just become a pokies joint with a buffet. Go at your own risk because it may be less than great in a short amount of time according to many locals. It will be a great loss.

The staff are great , friendly and efficient.
Cheap pub Food was tasty, generous portions and arrived swiftly. Drinks at bar prices. fantastic ,country pub like atmosphere

Stopped in on the way to Ocean Grove. Got the Tuesday special Parma . I had God save the Queen the Misses had Meat lovers. Very nice and we'll priced. Beer was nice and cold Definitely will be back .

I didn't stay here in the motel but I went for dinner here with my partner and child. Honestly couldn't have been more disappointed in the food and staff.
I ordered beef lasagna and couldn't even eat it. It was burnt on top and rock hard. Tasted disgusting. My daughter had nuggets and chips and her nuggets were a little pink and tasted disgusting. My partner has a parmi and it was so dry.

Staff didn't smile once the whole time we were there for dinner.

Playroom was disgusting and very dirty. My partner complained about a group of kids that had broken some stuff and were being very naughty and asked staff if they could speak to the parents of the kids as it was really not good and okay. These kids tried hurting my daughter while she was playing in the ball pit. I ended up having to go in and tell them off as their parents weren't doing anything to control their kids and the staff didn't seem to care.

We ended up leaving pretty much all our food that we spent $70 on and ended up at Maccas for more food since we were all super hungry.

Honestly wouldn't recommend going here at all unless you want to feel sick and have a horrible night.

Gnocci tastes different, very bland, had to add heap of salt for any sort of flavoring. Staff were wonderful like always, but play area isnt for kids under 12 like stated, older kids use it and are rough as anything. Overall hubby and kids enjoyed their meals

We attended a group birthday party, the service was great, the quality of the meals was excellent, with short waiting times. Highly recommend for future gatherings. And later on we had fun with karaoke, the guy doing the karaoke is a people person and gets everyone involved for a great experience.

I had my 70th birthday celebration here on the 15th of October and nothing was too much, the staff on the night were pleasant and cheerful, the food was great and enjoyed by the family and friends. Service was prompt and well done, all in all we had a great time and we won't hesitate to celebrate here in the future. Thank you to all at the Peninsula hotel great venue.

The live music (whilst lovely) was way too loud. The bistro itself was loud with kids and lots of chatter which was fine but then added music on top made conversations near impossible. Ended up leaving with a migraine.
Food was good & the kids section looks pretty decent also.
They have pretty good weekly specials also with a massive range of parmi's on Monday & Tuesday

Feeling disappointed.We went somewhere else before.And they said that there kitchen closed at 2pm.So we rang forward to The Peninsula hotel.They said that the kitchen closed at 2:30 pm.So we raced there.We made it inside.And I showed my proof of Vaccine.Then my Mum who has diabetes,said she left her print out of her vaccine at home.,in her handbag.So we went into the foyer .And Mum suddenly remembered she had her vaccine print out,in her purse.So we went back in.And then the lady said the kitchen is closed.And it was still not quite 2:30 pm.You would think that she would make an allowance.As my Mum is nearly 80 years old.And was struggling with her walking.Hard for her to get in and out of the car.And obviously her memory is not so good anymore.Went to Hungry Jack for lunch.And they apologized for the wait.I would of thought being a hotel.The customer service would top notch.I think staff need to learn,how to provide proper costumer service.

I hadn't been to this venue since I was in my 20's and was very surprised by the refurbishment of the hotel. Very pleasant atmosphere, good service and a good menu. The food that all of us ate was most enjoyable and will return again without hesitation.

Exceptionally friendly staff, lovely warm atmosphere loved the decor and Christmas decorations. Food arrived promptly, delicious meals, kids loved their portion sizes and the addition of the novelty bag is a wonderful idea to keep the little ones occupied. The band was a hit with the children dancing away on the dance floor such a great range of Christmas songs played, we all had a ball and look forward to coming back on out next trip to the area.

The Peninsula Hotel is not to bad.

The staff are very friendly, however, the decor is probably dated to describe it at its best.

The meals were not to bad, they arrived in a timely manner, yet, you have to emphasize what is classed as 'well done'.

I would return, however, that would be convenient more than desire.

Would I recommend it?

Not really. If you have time, find another dining experience.

Great place to stay on the cheap .. comfortable and very clean . Food drinks gaming it's all right there....

Great place for dinner, friendly staff, great food. Never really busy so nice quite place. Good selection on the menu, with great specials. Good playroom for the kids.

Not 1 bit of garlic in my Kiev! That's what a Kiev is! Garlic!!! Friend had a meal come out with a cockroach on the plate! Waiter gave my bro in-law his meal and said, "I wouldn't eat that". These were on 3 different occasions. Never eating there again!

Been there a couple of times now, and am very impressed. Friendly and chatty staff make you feel really welcome.
Food is good pub bistro fare.
We're going back there again next weekend, with no regrets !!

We truly enjoyed our dinner at the peninsula hotel this evening. We had mains and dessert and I probably had one of the lattes iv had for a long time. Thanks ellsa for the coffee.

Love this place. although only visit on occasion, we've gone there for many years. Great food, good prices and atmosphere. Kids like it too. Go there if you haven't or even if you have...

Excellent service, The staff are all so friendly and did a wonderful job. We all loved our steaks and will definitely be back again soon for steak night.

Roast lamb dinner:The vegetables were lovely and fresh, unfortunately the meat was very rare hidden by gravy. Some people may like it under cooked but it was so chewy! I couldn't eat it. The lemon meringue pie was nice. All in all $20 dinner not to over priced but probably won't return!

Lunch Wednesday with Mum. We had a great lunch in the hotel bistro. Covid check in at door and were seated in the large space out dining area close to the bar. The bistro is clean and comfortable with a great kids play area off one end of the dining with closed circuit TV for families. The menu was limited but had most of the pub favourites on there. We went for the Caesar salad $18 and crumbed sausages mash and gravy $15. The meals were large and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive although there werent a lot of people there at lunch. There are special steak and parmigiana nights week days and Sunday carvery. Check for Live music dates. The pub is large for a suburban Geelong Pub it has Pokies venue TAB sports bar manned, function Area beer garden and drive thru bottle shop.they offer Take away food service and liquor and delivery is free up to 5 klms.There is a courtesy bus for locals as well. A great set up and friendly pub. Recommend

Although the venue is a little tired looking the inside atmosphere was a very pleasant surprise! Staff were all very friendly and because of this we decided to stay for dinner. It was absolutely lovely, comfort pub food at its best! Definitely will be back

You're all welcome, l never felt so welcome at a venue as l have in my 35yrs (+++ tax & GST ) every one that l have had a conversation, hello, how are you? Nod or passing smile, Has made my journey ( illness & disabilities) Sincerely more grateful & happy to wake up and enjoy every moment of every day and live life to the fullest and it didn't cost a cent.
