Smelly stuffy room with poor lighting and the most uncomfortable bed ever.
Absolutely impossible to block out the music blaring in the pub downstairs until 1.30 am. So loud!
Noisy location with late night revellers on the street below.
Below average amenities and staff at the pub on check in not very friendly. Even at under $100p/n I cannot recommend.
Will not stay here again.

Both my and my friends chicken was cold and dry, the "garlic prawn topped" was literally so flowery and under cooked. The pizza is majorly cheese with once piece of meat on each slice (meat lovers pizza) the "cob load" was literally a cob of bread with melted cheese on top. I would not recommend eating here. The gravy was lumpy like it was re heated in a microwave only good thing was my friends pepper sauce other than the fact it has capsicum in it.

We did not stay here so don't know about the accommodation. The bistro food was very good, reasonable and a daily special, great value and the trivia was a lot of fun. The service and staff were excellent. Went to Cessnock for three nights and it was so good here we eat there two nights. There is plenty of parking behind the pub.

The food took over an hour to come out (ordered at 7:10, arrived at 8:12), although we were a large group, people who ordered after us got it much before we got our food. Additionally, when we ordered drinks, we ordered a jug of sprite and jug of coke yet we received 2 jugs of sparkling water. Jeremy was rather rude and impatient with us when we told him we had ordered sprite and coke, he just told us to take it. He then told us afterwards that the sprite machine was broken hence why we didn't receive sprite. The servers were nice though.

Very disappointed ☹️ thought I would have something light, had the popcorn chicken on the special menu. It was special alright it was tiny little dry pieces of burnt tasteless chicken on a little bed of limp rocket leaves. Should have taken it back but ran out of time as we were heading to my granddaughters dance concert.

Huge dining area, good value meals, of our group of 12 a few had to wait for longer periods for their meals but they were very very busy

Could rate with 0 stars if possible. Very dirty rooms with damaged furniture and no sound proofing. Someone was having a party downstairs until like 2 am, amd we were not able to sleep at all because of that. Cockroaches in the rooms as well...
50 $ deposit for the room key which was not easy to get back.
Expensive, overcooked food. Small portions and a long waiting time. Would not recommend.

Absolutely loved our first visit .. Service and staff were lovely and our meals were exceptional.. We both made silly noises whilst we ate.. Mmmmm etc.. Serving size was very ample .. wait time was very acceptable.. and as we watched the plates come out , we did not see any drop in standards at all .. All meals looked lovely and people just seemed well pleased as we were.

Looks fancy for a place in Cessnock which is great to see.
The food was OK, just OK.
I had the Eggplant schnitzel made vegan and it wasn't too bad, my wife had the corn friter burger which was quite nice.
Out friend had a cob loaf and it was bread and cheese, seemed as if there was no dip in it at all, very hard to eat.
It's great to see vegan options on the menu so thank you.
Also the service was a bit average, the lady that took our order was a little rude.

Spontaneous trip to Cessnock & we were stoked to score a room upstairs. Great value, comfy beds, clean & tidy. Pub itself has awesome staff, well priced drinks & a really fun, welcoming vibe. Thanks guys!

The restaurant serves magnificent dishes. We come here specifically to enjoy the food. The lovely older crowd make it charming; It would be a treat to hear some Bing Crosby or Jimmy Durante being played more often, to please the older generations ears.

Tobias is very polite and professional rsa he's probably one of the best worker you have had in a lot time he is very professional and polite very good at his job Very nice person. I fully recommend Tobias He is very great at his job. And very professional and very helpful.

Great meals and Great service. Perfect spot for a meal if you are in the area, don't overlook this place.
I honestly think it is the best pub in the vineyards

Definitely not easy accessible for elderly of disabled and don't expect to get any quite before 2am. Friday Saturday nights.
Sadly the upstairs accommodation has not moved past the 70s.
Although linen and floors in rooms clean, bathroom could do with deep clean considering they are shared by all occupants large lounge area could do with a breath of fresh air as no windows or door to open for outside.
Would like to revisit when upstairs matches downstairs modernisation.

We had a meal there as were visiting the area for a few days. Initially impressed by the decor and friendly staff but the dinner was disappointing. Husband ordered the special premium dry aged steak which turned out to be very tough and overcooked from his request for rare. My stuffed chicken was raw and I had to return it. After waiting 40 minutes for a replacement, this one was just cooked through. It was very tasty but raw chicken is not a acceptable offering in a restaurant.

We had dinner here with drinks. Would not recommend! The staff were lively but the food was some if the worst we have ever had in the Hunter Valley region. We had the pulled pork tacos, the sirloin steak and more. Too much salt. We were surprised given the the reviews. The staff were lovely though.

It was an easy check-in/check-out process. But that's to be expected from a pub-run accommodation.
The accommodation had shared bathroom facilities.
My room: a bed and a small bedside cabinet with 2 drawers. The drawer on top lost its handle and in its place was just a piece of plastic shoved into the hole in place of it.
I couldn't open the lone window of the room. Could be just my lack of strength. The line for the blind had broken off, or was just left hanging on a hook on a wall taunting you. So, you couldn't really do much with the blind. There was an A/C unit in the room, but I couldn't find a remote control for it.
I was just in the area for a concert and rather than driving 2.5hrs after 11pm, I'd decided to stay locally for the night. So, I wasn't to bothered by the condition of the room. As long as the bed is sleep-able and bathroom worked.
But returning to my room after the concert, it was a little hard to talk asleep as there was music coming from the pub way after 12am. But tiredness overcame me.
But I was roused up in the middle of the night by someone unlocking my room door and opening it (the door was quite stuck and you had to really lean into it to get it opened). I remember getting upright and saying "Hello" to the intruder. The person promptly left and I fell back into sleep. (I was thankful I didn't come to any harm.)
I only remembered and wondered about the strange event the next morning

Decent pub food at affordable prices with prompt, friendly service.

I liked being able to order online and see the dishes on the menu, such a time saver if you're dining with kids.

Plenty of seating and warm atmosphere. Would recommend!

Had one of the best pub meals here. Burrito bowl with prawns. Absolutely delicious and prawns cooked perfectly. Hadn't been here for some time but it was great to see that the menu had finally been changed. Highly recommend ??'?

A nice large, modern, and clean venue, with easy parking out the back. Staff were friendly and helpful, and food was quick to arrive once ordered. Lots of good choices on the menu, but the food was a little underwhelming overall - it tasted fine, but the presentation was lacking somewhat, made it unappealing. Easy to get around, a little kids play area which still suited young kids, and plenty of beer options to choose from. Overall it was enjoyable.

While the service was attentive and the staff pleasant the meal left a lot to be desired.
One entree arrived and the other 15 minutes later. .
While eating the second entree the mains arrived and placed on the end of the table.
The battered fish was shiny with grease and the stuffed chicken was really only stuffed with ricotta cheese not what was described.
Sadly we could not recommend this place at all.
It's proximity to the performing arts centre makes it appealing but you will get a much better meal at the other pub across the road.

Not too bad. The sound level in the room was comfortable despite the extremely loud (and great) band downstairs. There was a biscuit that had been stepped on, on the carpet that the cleaner had missed. And on the shelf was a towel that was heavily stained that that cleaner had also missed. The drawer was full of random remnants of previous occupants. The bed was comfy but the lighting was so dim that we had to use our phone lights to find our things before leaving. Some bloke had projectile vomited in the bathroom just before midnight and upon inspection, I couldn't believe the spread of the splatter of what looked like chocolate and guacamole, but mainly that it was still there by 10 in the morning for guests to marvel at. I'm guessing that this kind of establishment frequently experiences people emptying their gastric contents and this should have been cleaned earlier. On the whole, I'm a seasoned backpacker and am ok with poor standards, and was with my fabulous husband and would've enjoyed being just about anywhere with him. But just commenting so others might be aware.

Stayed in the accommodation and had lunch. Staff were nice. Got delivered and charged for a side I didn't order (and they don't have any non dairy options for their coffee). Food was good, would eat there again.
Room was nice if a bit run down, bedding and air con were a plus. It was very loud however- bar doesn't close till 1:30am and seemed to get louder as the night progressed. Would only recommended if you're expecting to stay out late- other go somewhere quieter.

The decor was nice and modern. Staff are friendy.
2 of the meals for our table did not come to our table and we had to follow it up. They had put the wrong table number down.
My meal never came at all, and when adding up our charges worked out that they never even put it down.
The plating of the meals were very simple and would have expect more for the price they are charging. But everyone that got their meals did say that they were delicious, I can confirm the garlic bread was nice.
The desserts are over priced, $12 for a warm cookie that was not tasty and the Brownie was too rich. Everyone liked the ice cream it came with.
Tip:offer to take the dinner plates when you bring out dessert.

Pleasant atmosphere. Great food and service. Reasonable pricing. Best to book during busy times.
