The food was only added to by the swarm of flies. If you're going to charge around $100 for a below par steak sandwich and a beef and reef then at least spring for air con and fly screens. The steak in the steak sandwich was inedible. Come on, it's a pub staple. I'd bypass this place and go to Patsy's. Never again.

Not allowing dogs anywhere, even outside, despite both MASSIVE deck AND grass outside areas. Both HUGE, ample room for everyone - theres no excuse. Really discriminating against good people/customers (& good dogs). All the while there's a guy sitting inside the pub with a dog.. but 'he's a local'. Basically: locals only? Dog owners want to support small towns as well. Shame on you.

A great place for a beer and lunch after a long walk along the beach. The beer is cold and the food is always great. The steak sandwich is highly recommended.

Great pub. Close to beach. Cold beers. Never did get to try the pizza's on pizza night. But a good touch. Would definitely return.

Absolutely love coming here for a pizza night with the family. The outdoor area is absolutely fantastic for my kids to run around and play while we adults chat with a bevvy. Great service, yummy food, highly recommend. ??

I drive here all the way from Coffs Harbour almost every week because they are so good. I have never been let down by a feed from here. The chef needs a raise!!!! Their beef schnitzel is easily a 10/10. Highly recommend.

Did not stay hotel but excellent meals. 6 of us went for a Meal at the Ocean View Hotel, Urunga. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Great size schnitzels, both beef or Chicken with tasty mushroom sauce. Freshly cooked, great mash and veg or salad and chips. Highly recommend

Picked up some pizzas tonight for dinner, first time trying them here and all I can say is omgggg they're probably the best pizzas I've had in years. Hawaiian with chicken is the go. Will be eating pizza on a regular now lol.

Great location, rooms very basic, leaking taps in room and shower leaking in bathroom. No heating in the rooms. Potential to be a great place with a little TLC. Meals were great.

It is not a bad OLD pub
The staff were pleasant and helpful
The food was good and quick and we had a good night watching the football
As for the rooms we had to ask to be swapped or of the original room we were in because the sag in the bed was that bad.
The second room was better but I feel sorry for the people in the room next to us when the missus and I gave those springs a work out
It was all quite grotty and worn and not what I would expect from a pub room these days for $90
I wouldn't stay in this pub again but I would eat and drink here

We recently stayed at the Ocean View Hotel overnight. We found our room very basic and musty. There was one overhead light and one powerpoint that was high on the wall, so very hard to recharge appliances. No bedside tables. No TV or heater and the sheets on the double bed were too small. Both the male and female showers had soap and shampoo containers that were broken and unable to be used. On a positive found the staff were polite, the hotel food looked good and the slow-combustion heater in the bar area was welcomed. We often enjoy staying at country Hotels on our travels but we found that for $90 that this hotel was a very underwhelming experience.

The crispy skin salmon was amazing. The salmon was good and the crispy skin perfect. The salad was generous and delicious, full of goodness. The schnitzel and gravy, chicken nuggets and chips were also all very good. Clean and tidy, good service.

Rooms are basic as expected from a pub. It would have been 4 stars but the ceiling fan was so noisy that we couldn't leave it on. Also someone smoked in the close in balcony and just opened one window, so the smell wafted through the whole upstairs. The pub itself is pretty good. Few different sections to choose from to suit, and a couple different eating options.

Food was way better than in most pubs in Australia with some original dishes.
Lots of different spaces so if you want to eat in a calm atmosphere or where a band is playing or where a game is being played on TV you have the choice.
Also service is quick

Very short walk from the caravan park, menu was nicely varied. Had a $22 burger and chips, burger was very good and chips were out of this world, best or 2nd best I've ever had

went here for trivia, and it was a great night. however, pizza we ordered was way too greasy and all the toppings slid off of it as soon as you lifted a slice. service was friendly, but the meal quality has gone down since our last visit unfortunately

The Ocean View Hotel is in a beautiful spot. It looks straight onto parkland and then straight out to the Urunga Heads where the Bellinger and Kalang rivers both meet. Great food, great beer and great entertainment. Very relaxing atmosphere. ? ???- ???'?

Just stayed at Urunga and found this awesome pub. Great friendly staff, cold beer and great food. Also tried the pizza from take away window at front and it was excellent.

Great scotch fillet for me and terrific crumbed lamb cutlets for my significant other. Good pilot grigio and old beer.
Would definitely come again.

Visit from brisbane for a sports tournament. Large food servings and so delicious! We had reef and beef and chicken palmy. Fast service. Chilled atmosphere. Big screen footy. Outdoor heaters were too hot on the face because how they were positioned, but asked them the reposition them away from our table. Pretty good experience. We went back a second night for their beautiful food.

I have multiple food allergies and the chef accused me of lying, saying that if i ate something that "may contain" dairy i was a fake. Food was good and the waiters were really nice but the chef was so rude and angry and ruined the night.

Take-away food options in Urunga today 13th June were very slim. The only place you could get food was the Ocean View Hotel...

They were doing lots of dine-in and heaps of Take- aways.

There was a fairly long wait,but the food was exceptional and the staff in the kitchen and in the ordering area were polite and exceptional under pressure. Well done ?

Pretty much my perfect pub. Beautiful old building, really friendly staff, good crowd, and one of the best pub menus around. I ate here 3 times and every meal was delicious. Being a 30 second walk from the caravan park was icing on the cake. Love it. I'll be back.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Pub is old school with lots of separate areas for eating, socialising, watching the footy. Great atmosphere. The fire is an absolute winner and the meal 5?. Can't remember having a better steak. Perfectly cooked and presented. Only downfall would be drink prices.

Beautiful old pub with loads of outdoor spaces. Meals are generous, menu extensive and quality very good. Note not a lot of vegetarian options available, but a couple of fish.

Good music and a great village feel. The Margaritas were amazing. A little over priced but don't mind since it is just a little village pub

Slowest point of sale. Manually written orders, put into register then walked to kitchen. Surely in this day register linked to printer in kitchen is better option. Ordered coffee, meal prepared and eaten and no sign of coffee. Offered refund, took it and left.

Great old fashioned proper country pub with a good atmosphere. Food was good, fairly normal pub grub with a modern menu. Outdoor beer garden allows dogs which is much appreciated.

Great location. Friendly staff.Entertainment good. Only negative , smokers tables located next to non smokers tables.I thought the law prohibited smokers in pubs ( supposed to have a designated smoking area)No restrictions here in entertainment area which is off putting.

On four previous stays over the past seven years, breakfast cereal was included in the tariff, but not on this occasion. Disappointing. The hotel toilets and showers need serious expenditure to bring them up to an acceptable standard. Even in the main men's toilet on the ground floor the handbasin must have been there since the 1950's.
