Look. Your travelling around looking for a funky, old school, spooky pub this is the place. I won on the pokies rang a bell and wrote on the walls. The owner is a down to earth human. The bar staff are lovely and kind. The pub is over 100yrs old and I've been told it's haunted.
Monto Grand Hotel. Hit it up.

Stopped here as they host a new NRMA fast EV charger. This gave us enough time to enjoy a hearty pub lunch. The menu is quite comprehensive and features all the usual pub fare you'd expect. Service was very friendly and efficient so the car a was finished charging as we finished our lunch. Well worth a stop.

I was on a week long motorcycle ride, my last night was in Monto, 13th July, staying at the Monto caravan park. They recommended the Grand Hotel for dinner, the hotel's courtesy bus was out of action for a few days, but the owner drove to the park, picked me up and also dropped me back later in the night.
Had an awesome meal, generous serving, typical of country towns, and as a lover of craft beer, was stoked to have Stone & Wood on tap. Pleasant staff, great service, the Hotel is a gem.

Thanks for a delightful Mother's Day, the food was delicious and you created a beautiful atmosphere to celebrate our favourite people.

Had dinner there Sunday 12/11/23
Early dinner, ordered grilled barramundi with salad & chips. Barra was done to perfection, homemade chips (yum), and a light salad with a hint of mustard dressing (onion, not overdone). Talk about a balance of flavours that tiptoed over the tongue. Top notch meal, thanks, Chef ??'?‍🍳

Bloody awesome pub. The beers cold, food is amazing, comfortable, clean rooms and the shower is brilliant. Just what was needed after a big ride. Staff are super friendly too!

Had a 350g rump. Most tender I've had for many years. Delicious and cooked to perfection.

The owner Steve and his partner you couldn't a word against them they both went way out of the way to help us when we were up there and the food WOW that is beautiful and so filling too I will be going back up there to see these guys again hopefully sooner then later all the staff there are great people great crowd aswell love the place they video was from our verandah

Got there just before kitchen was closing, cook was happy to stay on a bit. Had the special very tasty partner had a salad which she said was also tasty. Worth a visit

The food is great, a beautiful country town with lovely people. The town has all your needs. You can even have your dog sit with you in the outdoor area. Great atmosphere.

Fantastic hospitality, food and service. Great pub all round. Accommodating 17 of us was no issue and food was wonderful.

Staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and even cooked us some food after the kitchen had closed after arriving late. Definitely recommend stopping or staying here.

The staff at Monto's Grand lodge were all exceptional - very personable, polite and accommodating. Meals from the kitchen were outstanding and definitely plentiful. I just wish there was a window to open in my room for some ventilation as the air conditioner could not be turned on as the key would not turn to enable this. I would stay here again and still recommend it as a place to visit, eat and stay.

Had a rare steak. It was perfect. My 1st steak in years. My mate got the seafood basket, not too shabby. Chips were great. But...we got our meal delivered to the table, our empty plates taken away, and courteously asked half way through, how our meal was going by a teenage boy. He was so professional, whoever owns him can be justifiably proud. His manner really made it a wonderful experience.

Stayed a couple of nights here whilst the Monto show was on. Very friendly and hospitable staff and locals. Great service , drinks and food and rooms and rates. No complaints. ?

Our Mothers Day meal out last night at The GRAND HOTEL in MONTO, QUEENSLAND and the BEST food, service, friendliest staff, spotless amenities, pleasant ambience, great menu choice and 2 minute walk from our RV camping area. Had to bring a takeaway container home with our leftovers. Definitely put this on your stopover list of places to eat out. We'll be back.

One of the best schnitties I've ever had. Vegies cooked to perfection, chips & gravy delicious! So much I had to get a doggy bag. I'll be back.

Had lunch, food and drink where fantastic. Best pizza and garlic bread I have had in a long time.

I stopped at this pub after travelling on the road for some time with the hope for a nice country pub dinner experience. From the moment I walked, in the lady behind the bar was disinterested in serving anyone that came to the bar (where you also order food). She had a terrible attitude and everything was all too hard for her. She made me feel very uncomfortable and like I was a burden being there, spending my money to support a local business. Very disappointing exchange, particularly given the current times we are living in with COVID-19 and the effect this is already having on businesses and people travelling through to places like this. I was left with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. The food took 40 minutes to arrive, with barely anyone in the hotel. The lasagna pasta was undercooked, and the chips were swimming in oil. The chef was however friendly. I will be giving this place A MISS if I am ever travelling that highway again!
