Bit dark and dreary. All stairs to all floors. No breathing space as there's no balconies. Parking is awful. Service and attention to customers was excellent though ??'?

I've come here for a lunch break with friends and it's a good place for a casual catch up. I did recently come here on a Saturday night. It had the right vibe for a drink but I wouldn't recommend the cocktails here. I ordered two negronis ($22 each). These were bought by the hotel pre-mixed and tasted awful. Was unhappy with the price for a cocktail that isn't even made on the spot by the barman. Very expensive - you pay for the location. I recommend other bars in the area if wanting to try cocktails. All that said, the barman was lovely enough and security were nice too.

Staff are very uninterested and not attentive. Texting seems to be a bigger priority than pouring beers or serving customers. Management have a bit of work to do.

If you love cigarettes this is the place for you.. sat outside and literally the bouncer, his mate and two random chick's they were clearly trying to pick up stood next to the no smoking sign and all smoked. While other members of the public walked past sat down and decides to smoke up also. This place was foul. I bought 1 drink and it will never get any more of my money. If you love lung cancer, premature ageing, upper lip wrinkles and tounge cancer pleas3 come here it's basically their primary business.

A friend booked out lv1 for a surprise birthday. Was pretty good, had a bathroom and bar to ourselves. Food was pretty good too. They even allowed us to bring our own nintendo switch to have our own mario kart tournament, they obviously had provided a tv to do so. They allowed us to play our own music via aux cord. All staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for functions.

I love this place. Personality, nostalgia, great staff, there's always somewhere to sit! It's the kind of place that you can rely on for a nice drink after a show at the Theatre Royal or Recital Hall.

Even one star is generous. Saturday night stopped off there after the Pixies and it was mostly empty so we thought it looked a nice quiet place for a drink. Ordered "two white wines please" and was asked to repeat myself; and when I did he asked me how many drinks I had had that night. A said "a couple" and he again asked how many exactly. I knew I was displaying no signs of intoxication so I said that the security team had no problem letting us in, to which he marched around to them to interrogate them about my entry. At that point, we gave up and walked to the next pub who had no problem serving us. I wonder if the owner knows the poor attitude of bar staff are costing them income?

Went there for my work Xmas party..
After 2 drinks bar staff said we're cut off after one more. Drink..
I enquired why we were being cut off as we weren't intoxicated and asked to speak to the manager .
The most manager came straight out and told me to leave and shoved me towards the door saying oi have to leave as I was being argumentative...
I found it quite upsetting as I wasn't intoxicated at all and he embarrassed me in front of my new boss at the job I just started .
Also the fact that we just spent thousands of $$$ in his crummy hotel..
Was very rude staff and the manager was actually trying to get security to beat me up..
Security didn't want to know about it as they knew he was in the wrong..
Head of security even apologised to me as he knew I was treated unfairly.

Not sure why they have a manager who is in their 20's and seems to have let a little power go to his head.
Maybe get your act together as our company won't be returning to this establishment..

Nice bar, friendly staff. Good collection of wines and cocktails. We had a great evening there.

Cheapish beer for Sydney. Friendly attentive staff, bit cold sometimes due to open nature of space. Awesome to have a pint at the bar

We had a great time Saturday night after wandering in here walking between darling harbour and our hotel. Great service, great bar tending and standard priced drinks for the city. Casual affair, good music upstairs. There are pokies downstairs but you wouldn't even know!

Relaxed atmosphere that hasn't changed in decades, but it shows. A bit tired and paint peeling from the ceiling is not a good look.
Staff were friendly but not especially helpful.
Poor selection of beers on tap. VB and Guiness were the staples but the others were all very similar to each other. Just different brands.
It's probably been more than 20 years since my last visit an I found no reason to revisit again in the next 20 years.
Nothing really bad here, just very underwhelming.

Always a fun night out and of course all Merivale establishments has top notch staff that always go out of their way to make sure your night is fun and easy going. Great place to start off a Friday night or even end it after dinner. Very cosy set up as well

Angel Hotel is a small and moody pub located in Pitt Street. The decorations are old-fashioned which adds to the atmosphere of the pub, and it offers a wide range of alcoholic beverages including beer, spirits and wine, and is a great place for a weekend or Friday night winding down.

One of my favourite little pubs in the Sydney CBD. Don't tell anyone about it though, it's a secret

Loved the character still in this venue. Lots of vintage old school (very cool) features. Awesome happy hour prices and duration. Nice staff. Will definitely be back.

I love the Angel, the staff are so friendly and always have a smile. It almost feels like I am going to a friends house when I walk in, warm and welcoming. Great atmosphere, great drinks menu thanks guys you are doing it right!

We had the best seat in the house, at the bar. Watching the bar tenders making cocktails is always a delight, tasting them is even better

The upstairs cocktail bar had a lovely atmosphere. They were burning incense which added a thrill to the senses. We were taken care of by staff.

I really enjoy visiting the Angel; right in the middle of the CBD it offers four levels of sanctuary from the busyness of the CBD.Staff are very friendly and accommodating and the bar is full to the brim with everything you could need.Ive only had good experiences at the Angel; Im looking forward to more in the future!
