I have been to a number of Chinese restaurants over the last 25 years. And Raymond's is the best by a long way. The waitresses were so nice, very quick to serve you. Only wanted 10min for our food, and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great too. Well done

As always the staff were helpful & friendly and the service was quick & efficient.
The food, as always, was beautiful - still the best Chinese food I've had. We had the lunch special, which was excellent value for money & left little room for dessert.

We had a wonderful dinner here and couldn't speak more highly of the service! We made a booking and told them we had a toddler and they had a bowl, cup and cutlery that was toddler friendly as well as a high chair all ready to go when we arrived. Our toddler dropped her spoon at one point and one of the friendly staff got her a new spoon without us asking. Each staff we interacted with were super friendly and the food was delicious too! We got the spring rolls, fried rice and Mongolian beef. Even if the food was average I would still return because the customer service was exceptional!

I first went to Raymond's pre Black Summer, when they were located in Club Malua, and had the best fried eggplant I'd ever had. I was so pleased to discover, on a recent trip to the South Coast, that they now have their own restaurant and, even better, are still serving the delicious fried eggplant. It is so good that even my partner, who doesn't really like eggplant, likes and was actually jealous when I got to eat the leftovers. We also got a BBQ pork dish that was delicious. We were only able to get takeaway, as the restaurant was fully booked until about 8:30pm both nights we tried to go, but the food was still great. Will definitely be planning in advance next time, so we can actually eat at the restaurant!

Probably the best Chinese I have ever had. Fenomenal food with super friendly and accommodating staff. Do not skip this south coast gem.

Pawn toast - Very unique with whole pawns encased in a breding/pastry.

Sizzling fillet steak - Almost melt in the mouth tender with fantastic savoury flavour.

Honey Chicken - Light crispy batter with subtle honey taste, you can really taste the tender chicken. Flavour is not overpowering like a lot of other Chinese places.

Singapore Fried Rice - Perfectly cooked rice with a generous amount of pawns and a lovely curry note.

Fried Ice Cream - Crispy batter with high quality ice cream and topping.

Best Chinese food I've had in a very long time. The honey chicken was exceptional. The kids fish and chips was proper fish and so fresh. Cannot wait to return.

The Chef's eggplant dish was fantastic, and next time I'll get this with some plain rice and be very happy. However, the remaining food we ordered was bland and disappointing. Perhaps I chose the wrong dishes! The service was prompt and staff were queries. I'd return for the eggplant, and try something other than the sizzling seafood next time. We had takeaway, but the atmosphere for eat in was pleasant enough.

We get takeaway from Raymond's often and the food is always great, last night we went and dined in for the first time since they were located at the Club before the fires. Fantastic service, the place was full and had a really good vibe, tables spaced nicely and nothing felt cramped or rushed. They have fantastic staff who work brilliantly.
Food beautiful as usual.

Takeaway on point. Sat at bar and had a very tasty Hawkes beer while waiting for some of the best Chinese I have had in many years. Will be going back for sure. Keep up the good times, vibes and food. The place was busy with heaps of people as well.

I came here on a Saturday evening with my husband and 2 little boys, as we stayed at the Abode hotel above. We all enjoyed the food and ambience here. We ordered crispy chicken noodles - a very sumptuous dish, deep fried egg plant - crunchy, sticky and sweet, sizzling beef, salt and pepper squid. Together they were very well balanced between rich sauces vs natural flavours. If the egg plant dish had a bit more egg plant in it would have been better. A lot of staff working that night, very attentive service. A lady who works in the kitchen gave us good tips on what's on locally in the evening when I chattered to her on the beach earlier that day.

Regional Chinese restaurants have long fascinated me, particularly for specialisations that have arisen in response to feedback from the local community. After seeing Raymond's at Malua Bay featured on the ABC's Chopsticks or Fork? and finding myself twenty minutes from the restaurant, I had to check it out. In the relevant episode, so-called food enthusiast Jennifer Wong cooed about the use of locally gathered Mogo honey so I gave it a whirl in black pepper honey chicken ($23). With thin slabs of chicken breast and button mushrooms, the resulting savoury dish was not what I expected to receive, and I enjoyed it more than I expected to.

The restaurant itself faces the waters of Malua Bay. The soft blue, contemporary Chinese fit-out would not look out of place in Sydney, particularly the round backlit graphic art piece based on the Hokusai wave. It's the third location for Raymond Ng's forty year old business, with the 2019 bushfires destroying his last store. The sea-facing glass box is the ground floor of a boutique pet-friendly hotel called Abode Malua Bay. With a back-lit bar, and a decent wine and craft beer list drinks are definitely part of package here. The Brookvale Vodka Peach Iced Tea ($9) was a bit too Nanna's undies drawer floral for me, but I loved Capital Brewing Co.'s Hang Loose Juice ($10).

The menu is mostly arranged by protein, followed by a list of sauces in which it can be cooked. From the list of house specialities, the standout is deep fried eggplant ($20). This heaping plate of wickedly good eggplant slices with candied crisp batter and soft, slippery eggplant interiors is taken to the edge of burnt in a toffee-like sauce. By contrast sizzling seafood ($32) is relatively plain, presenting a collection of mussels, locally sourced king prawns, tender squid, white-fleshed fish and seafood extender (the menu calls it crab) in a delicate garlic sauce on a sizzling platter. The same toothsome king prawns come up well in a bright orange sambal ($32) pumped up with extra chilli on request. Combination fried rice ($12/small) is notable for the tasty red-edged BBQ pork slices, clearly made in-house.

Really good Chinese food here. Must dishes we ordered were up to our standards. The eggplant was the best. The garlic prawns were well cooked and the prawns large. The salt and pepper squid was yummy also. The crab soup wasn't the best though, I've had better. The barramundi mornay was random in a Chinese restaurant. Overall pretty good, but I would've have chosen all those dishes again. Yours truly @fooderarri

We went her for my birthday this year and we all shared it around the food is amazing and if I had the choice too only pick one place too go on my birthday ??? this made my day complete and awesome as thanks Daddio I would say that the food is amazing

The ambience by the water is beautiful with posh feels. I was able to dine here for lunch and the $12 lunch specials were really nice, fresh and yummy. The chicken isn't halal. The sweet and sour fish with steamed rice was a winner for me compared to fish and chips.

We haven't had Chinese food this good for a long time. Staff were very friendly, food came out quickly and was packed full of flavor. Raymond's will be our go to place for dinner whenever we find ourselves in Malua Bay.

Thankyou Raymond's for coming back after the fires. I have been ill for quite some time, and Raymond's fresh produce used in cooking has meant that my husband could have a night off cooking with the usual value for money that we have always enjoyed. We have been customers for over 20 years, and will always come back to our beloved Raymond's.

We have dinned at Raymond's multiple times and have always left extremely satisfied with our meals. All the staff at Raymond's are super friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend Raymond's for a delightful meal.

Booking is easy, convenient and recommended. The food is yummy that we came back twice in our visit. Sizzling Mongolian Beef is a winner with great flavour and texture. The Szechwan Chicken is also very good. Portion size of rice is small though. Ambience is classy and fresh. Staff are incredibly nice, quick, helpful and sweet. Highly recommended. Turnover is large and relatively busy. Takeaway option is good, packaged well and condiments provided. Only had to wait and additional 7 minutes, which is great. Seating outside for those waiting.The large fried rice portion size is small in comparison to equivalent restaurants in Sydney. The price is also comparatively expensive in comparison to Sydney.

Congratulations to all at Raymonds for wonderful first NYE dinner at 5.30pm at your new location. My family and I had a wonderful time and as we were four adults and two children we were served every thing on set menu for adults to share and children enjoyed childrens meals. Very good value for money and free drink choices included champagne. All dishes delicious. We were told it was noisy but it definitely was not noisy which is explained in earlier management comment as acoustic panels have now been installed.

WOW!! The deep fried eggplant is absolutely amazing. Beautifully crispy and the sauce is deep in flavor.
The pork with Chinese vegetables was also good, but the eggplant was something special.

We only had takeaway and despite us waiting 50 minutes it was well worth it. The eggplant special and combination chowmein are must haves. It was delicious... Staff were friendly and the restaurant was perfectly placed by the sea. I do wish they had outdoor seating though to accommodate more people (and demand).
