21/7/24 at 1700, we attended the bottle shop, I greeted the attendant with "Hi how are you?" No eye contact and ignorance. I then said G'day...as I thought she "Chris" may not have heard me. In return I was given a dirty look and silence. Malpas, this is not the first or third time I have encountered such unaustralian ignorance. I spent close to 20 years working and managing hospitality venues...Never in my career have I ever encountered such disrespect for a customer. I would be absolutely ashamed if that was one of my staff.

Hardly anyone in pub, ordered dinner & it took half hr, both ordered the same but one lasagna was half the size of the other & the salad was warm on both, chips luke warm. Over all disappointed for what we paid.

Often call in for a counter lunch passing through the Burdekin. Atmosphere is always quiet day time service quick amenities clean and accessible. Ample parking in the side streets off to the side. Meals are quick and very enjoyable and good on the jip pocket.

we took 17 seniors from The Good Shepherd Home Day Centre to lunch... not 1 meal was disappointing... Service excellent. All very happy with price and quality... thank you for our day lovely. we will be back for sure.

T1he meal was superb,cooked just the way I like it (medium rare rump steak), A side of salad and chips with a mushroom dipping sauce to complete the deal!

The food was excellent. Sandra was our waitress and she was great.
I had ribs and my hubby had barra.
We loved the food.

We were staying at the showgrounds and popped in at lunch time to check it out. The kitchen was bringing out some awesome looking burgers and we nearly stopped right there. Had shopping in the car so booked for dinner instead. Fabulous choice on the menu and everything was fresh and very tasty. Manager and staff were super friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Great pub with great service. Very friendly and efficient lady behind the bar. Lovely beer garden out the back that allow well behaved dogs. Had the Italiano Fettucine, Club Sandwich and Salt and Pepper Squid. All cooked perfectly and well presented. Certainly recommend the Malpass Hotel if you are in the area looking for a feed and a cold drink. Well done.

Bar & girls just fine. Meals are worth the money. Only issue is the old loud fart interrupting dinner in the dinning room to sell raffle tickets, putting his money container on our table after its been on other tables with people & around the bar, covid safe - I think not, also that he was looking after a group of people at a table in the dinning room but was yelling out drink options from behind the food order counter which was at least 3-4 metres away from said people. As a local I'm unhappy about such disrespect shown while eating.

Good friendly bar staff good old fashion pub

We are travelling with a dog & looking for a pub lunch at a local pub where they accepted dogs while we had lunch in the beer garden. The bar ladies were friendly & helpful. Beers were cold & the food was great. Thank you ..this is our boys 6th beer garden.

Passed through last week and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. Great value meals and very friendly staff. The bartender Tamika was very patient and helpful .
