A nice atmosphere, very spacious inside. Has a bar and pokies at the left of the building for the adults, and a bistro to the right for all ages. It has carpet inside, with pictures and old news articles hung up. The inside is warm and very cozy.

I had the beef burger with chips. It had bacon, cheese, beef patty and lettuce in it with tomato and relish. The apple and cinnamon crumble I had for dessert, it was so delicious.
The food came out quickly, and the service was very friendly.

There wasn't any soap in toilette, which was a bit disappointing, but the toilets were very clean and spacious.

I would definitely come back here again.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Despite being somewhat fully booked, we got a table for 5 without a booking. The front staff was very helpful. The meals were served quickly and were hot and tasty. My favourite dishes were the battered fish and steak sandwich. I will definitely be back soon.

Dinner was beautiful and presentation of our meals were great. The staff all very friendly with a big smile and always happy to help! Will be back.

Bland food, very disappointing. Presentation average over priced for the quality. Service - was an effort, certainly not willing to provide customer service. Went to support local business. Disgrace 5 years ago and worse this time. Never again. Would have felt better throwing the money away.

The fish & chips was excellent, the fish is fresh tasting & the batter is crispy, so much for us to go back the next week.
We are back again 3weeks in a row now. Definitely worth the drive up from Craigieburn for the fish

I've been here a couple times. But this last time with chef Matt's perfectly cooked steak was amazing. It has to be the best steak I've had eating out. The atmosphere is second to none and it has plenty of fun for the kids. Can't wait to come back again

Booked a table at 7pm for 2 adults and our 2 year old it was very quiet maybe 10 people. They wanted us to sit near the doorway with a cold breeze I asked for another table she said they were fully booked and to now go sit outside. We ordered the beef casserole and the pork chop. The beef was disgusting with a piece of tortilla that was hard as cardboard. The pork chop was ok but I think It could of been cooked a little longer. Our daughter wanted spaghetti but they only had fettuccine so we got her nuggets and chips well that was probably the best meal out of the 3. We haven't been to this place in over a year and last time we said never again but thought we would give it another shot. Don't waste your time or money here it's nothing special. And if you got little ones who want to play outside they have a new play ground but only good if your child is 3 or above or has really long legs to try climbing across to reach the toddler slide it's not made for little ones to reach.

Unfortunately one the worst schnitzels I've ever had, paper thin and coating well under cooked. Veggies and mash saved me, others enjoyed their meals. Don't order the schnitzel!

This was a strange dining experience. We were all reasonably happy with our pub grub but the service wasn't the greatest. I'd already paid for a drink for a mate through the QR code service and someone came to tell us they were out but walked off immediately without checking what he wanted to replace it or mentioning anything about refunding so he had to go up to the bar to resolve it.
We also had 2 large tables where people had ordered separately using the QR codes so they had names but quietly announced the dish to the closest person and then the name if it didn't get a response. Just seemed like a really strange way to go about things.

The food was terrible the parma looked like a coles heart shaped schnitzel with cheese the garlic bread was a hotdog roll cut in half which is just pathetic honestly wouldnt even give our meals to a dog definitely will not be going back what a waste of $100 0/10 😡

Cute little venue. On Saturday 15th of April celebrated my brothers wedding. It was a good day. An the blonde chick who took care of the whole wedding, serving drinks and food straight out nailed it, a true legend. She done it all by herself. An she done a fantastic job. Extremely kind and hard working. As a waitress myself, I couldn't help but to try give her a hand when I could, but she was awesome. We definitely gave her a nice little tip. An she was well deserving of the tip.
I was also very pleased with my rump steak i order. An my fience had that parama whixh is quite enjoyed himself too. I enjoyed it alot. Definitely worth it and would go again when up that way.

Loved this place!! Great menu of generous and delicious meals in an authentic country pub atmosphere with a gorgeous fireplace.Our group of six all loved our meals ! It will definitely become a regular dining out option!!

We have been regulars for a long time. (Maybe 10 years)
Last night we went in for a meal at 6 (when kitchen opens) after a long day and were told we could not have our daughter in the bar after 6. There was not a soul in the bar. Completely empty.
We are happy to pay bistro prices when we are settling in for a long dinner, and have many times before..
But we wanted a quick, cheap bar meal and were asked to move into the bistro because we had our daughter with us.
I get that sometimes a bar atmosphere isn't safe for kids.. but when it's completely empty? We are adult enough to make that decision for ourselves, thanks.
Shame on you for treating regular locals that way.
Never been asked to leave a bar with our daughter before when we are having a meal.. just at our local who we have heavily supported for a very long time.
Happy to take our money elsewhere.

Had a couple of schooners here after riding Dissa with a couple of mates. A great pub with a good old country pub atmosphere.

Visit at your own risk. I ran out of this place in 10 mins. That bad was the quality of the food.
Ordered chicken schnitzel sandwich and pepper calamari, lemon lime bitter. We tried our best to check if anything would be worth eating out of what we ordered. Forget the main dish, not even the chips or sauce or the drink was worth our efforts. On top of everything, even the specials were over $25.
Thought of checking this place out to try something other than the usual fast food during long drives, but disappointed poorly.

This pub could be greatly improved with a decent menu. Bistro should have Senior menu and a roast of the day with vegetables.
The choices aren't very healthy and everything is served with chips and salad.
Service was good.

Food was second rate i had bangers and mash - not hard to cook sausages were not the thick ones they were bunnings one cooked as if they were thick so dry

Went there for lunch on a very cold day. Room was warm and inviting. Service was great and the meal delicious.

Cannot speak any higher about this place. Food is always great, every day, every time!!! Kids meals are never great wherever we go but here they're as good as the mains and portions are large enough for a grown man. The pork cutlet is an absolute must to have, but have tried many dishes and they're all top tier quality. Pricing is really fair, and considering the quality and portions I'd say it's on the 'cheap for what you get' end of the scale.
Do not go past this place, you will not regret it.

If you want the best fish and chips around do yourself a favour and call in to the Magpie & Stump Hotel for lunch or dinner the portions you get are ginormous and the staff are ever so friendly and make you feel really welcome

Excellent service. Very accommodating. Food was delicious. Great outdoor area for kids to run around and play.

To be fair this place has had some bad press over the years and deservedly so at times. That is no longer the case. I had lunch there followed by an evening meal at the bistro two days later. The place was busy, despite that the food came out in a very reasonable time, generous helpings and really well cooked and presented. Although understaffed due to some employees waiting to be double vaxxed, those that were on duty were polite, friendly and went out of their way for their customers. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

All you could want from a little pub out of town. Good service and food. Brilliant space outside to take the kids on a nice day.

Gr8 chips and a good pot with a handle in a gr8 country setting. Worth having a rest on the way through or making it a destination with the family for ut has a big backyard for the Kids.

Pretty disappointed. I use to come here a lot a few years ago and never had an issue with service or the meal. My partner and I made a booking for last Friday night. We decided what we wanted went up and paid for our meals and drinks. It was busy but nothing hectic. We sat back down and as soon as we did our garlic bread was served to us instantly. Had we have known we would have been waiting an hour for our food I would have savored the garlic bread a little longer. We were just about to get up and leave to go to maccas instead when we finally got our food. The garlic prawns were ok but cold and the rice was hard like packet rice. Really disappointed won't be coming back here again. Better local pubs that serve your meal quicker and still hot.

Country pub with a great feel, friendly staff and amazing food! Wasnt expecting much from a pub in an out of the way place like Wandong but was pleasantly surprised how good the food was and the relaxing atmosphere to dine in. Highly recommended Ill be back again
