Their are bar, restaurant, play ground, kids outdoor section, indoor and outdoor restaurant.
Especially their foods are too good

We came on a weekend with the kids to checkout the bowlo, I think the venue itself is pretty good, loads of drinks on tap to offer and good seating indoors and outdoors. I think the playground outdoors could do with a revamp as its not friendly for the younger ones more catering to the older kids.... As for the food honestly, it was a letdown, we tried several dishes and we were not impressed with the quality or taste.

We held my son's 5th birthday at the Bowlo on Sunday. Kids and adults alike had a great time. The outdoor eating area and playground is the perfect size to give kids space to run about, while keeping them in eyesight - with a drink from the bar, of course.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, right through from booking to setting us up in the space on the day.
Catering for a large group was excellent. Mixed sandwiches were great and special shout out for the huge bowls of chips - deliciously crunchy and hot! Perfect for kiddies on the go, and the adults weren't shy about dipping in either.
I'm pretty sure the Bowlo will be seeing more birthday parties from my son's classmates, and we'll definitely be back as a family for a meal.

Leichhardt's best kept secret - fantastic bowling club celebrating its hundredth year, well worth a visit.

This visit was a week day - so very quiet - but it goes off on the weekend. It is very large, with spaces for everyone - including a generous fenced-off section for family and kids equipped with a playground.

Great range of beers on tap, as to be expected in the Inner West, with all the pub classics as well as some specialty dishes (menu in photos). Very friendly staff (shout out to Jan in particular) and prompt and reliable service makes this venue a treat.

There are lots of events each week - check out their socials for details. Definitely worth a visit - for adults or families, for food or a quick bowl!

Note, was wheelchair accessible, plenty of parking (including below ground), amenities and heaps of space.

And been a few times and happily celebrated the Bowlo's 100th birthday this weekend ? It's the outdoor dining that makes me give it tip marks, but I'll dig into a few more details.

?? In the CBD and inner west, there aren't heaps of places where you can eat outdoors, have a drink ? and let the kids run around and have a bit of fun. And, it's not easy to find a place that will seat 10+ people. The Bowlo ticks those boxes. It's huge, so you can almost always get a table.

???" The food is decent, and there are a variety of veggie options. No, it's not gourmet (is a bowling club), but I've been to a fair number of Bowlos and RSLs and Leichhardt's is in the top 10%.

? Parking. Yes, it's on a narrow city street. That's why you follow the sign that indicates they have an underground parking garage. No need to walk two blocks unless you're looking for a bit of exercise.

? Are the chips too salty? Ooh, this is a contentious issue. Yesterday I went with a group and 1 person found the chips too salty and 4 of us thought they were great. Room to have an argument about this issue!

? Nice range on tap, including cider and some vodka mixers. Lovely to enjoy a modern range.

? Dog friendly

It's never really as crowded as my photos look, it was a special occasion!

If you're looking to meet up with a group of friends and enjoy Sydney's lovely weather, the Bowlo's a great spot. I mean, it's not going to make it to Good Food magazine, it's just a lovely neighbourhood spot with fab outdoor seating and room for groups with good drinks. Enjoy!

It's a sprawling club covers a lot of area bistro and outdoor areas are very spacious. I don't mind it but I'd give it a 3. 5 out of 5 for the pub grub score only for one reason, they were heavy handed with the salt on the chips and the beer I've had better it seemed to be watered down a bit. Food prices were high for some things and medium price for others, portions you can't complain about though as you won't go out feeling hungry which is becoming a common issue.With parking piper street a two way street is fairly narrow, you will have to drive a bit to look for a spot. I've only been to the club once I'd probably go back again it seems to be be OK they have entertainment and it's local to where I live (within a few km.)

Staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Barefoot bowls is only 10 dollars a head and worth doing.

We had our team end of the event at this place. We had bowling and some activities as part of the event. The bowling and food service was provided by the club and we used parts of the club to do fun activities designed by us. So it was very flexible. The service was good. The staff was very friendly. When I rang to inquire about parking the phone was answered promptly. There is an underground free unsecured unlimited car park. The entry to the car park is from the backstreet next to 16 Charlotte Street.

We dined at 88on Piper bistro. The salmon with vegetables was delicious. My husband said the fish and chips and salad was great too.

Had my 50th birthday at the bowlo recently. 40 plus people. Had it catered for - the food was amazing! Everyone loved it. I ordered off the platter menu. Was allowed to decorate our tables bring our own cake etc. It was a great day - consider it for any function. Nothing is too hard for the staff, Jan the bar manager is extremely helpful.
Trivia night every Wednesday is also fantastic!

We had a 50th Birthday Party here in the playground area as we had 40 adults and 20 kids. What a great venue! The adults could relax and enjoy with great food and drinks while the kids played and were kept occupied. The staff were really helpful both on the day and in the lead up, would definitely recommend here for a party.

Had our baby shower at Leichhardt Bowls in early August. Was an incredible venue, exactly what we were looking for. Family friendly and a great space for little kids to play. Plenty of parking. Baz, the manager was very helpful in planning and always responded promptly to my questions. The venue lets you bring decorations, if you take them home with you. We ordered catering through the club too, food was great. Highly recommend.

Great old fashioned bowlo with pub grub bistro containing all the classics you'd expect. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. Great portion sizes and good quality. Thank you for hosting the Dachshunds in the Park christmas get together. Everyone including the dogs had a fantastic time and your staff were so accommodating to the dogs bringing them buckets of iced water on such a hot day. Will be back for the food and beer garden chill atmosphere. Music was all solid bangers from the 80s.

Leichhardt Bowlo has so much to offer; this venue is truly a gem. There's a playground for small children and families with picnic tables. The newly added outdoor beer garden is fabulous: well decorated and almost resembling the outdoor aesthetic of a Merivale venue - particularly at night when the festoon lighting is turned on. There is often an outdoor bar with specialty drinks available.

The indoor area has had a recent uplift, through and through - for punters, the TAB and pokie room have been upgraded. Colour change on the walls, and a recent bar renovation.

The stage and dining area are the same as ever with some new touches. Live performances here are fantastic. Food has also alway been exceptional - never any complaints there. The kitchen does a great job.

This is an amazing local, so I'd say you're lucky if you live nearby.

Oh and friendly regulars and staff - especially the venue licensee. Always super helpful and engaging.

The food is made with care, tastes amazing and is great value. Bar staff are friendly and helpful offering the finest range of beverages. Top atmosphere inside and out. Sunday roast highly recommended.

Very busy on a sunny Sunday arvo. Barefoot bowls if you want to play. Excellent outdoor areas with lots of tables and chairs with umbrellas. Lots of kids. Dog friendy. Efficient bar service with the usual beers on tap. Wines by the glass. Meals cheap and cheerful, nothing special.

What more do you need?

We go along every week for trivia night, and a bite...and pint! We're almost always in last place but the other winners in the room are gentle with us... I'm pretty sure one of the pretty girls at the next table over has a crush on me...she may not know it yet! The sausages, peas and mashed potatoes are a true bargain and we're also keen on the chicken schnitzel. Finally,the two ladies tending bar are wonderful! No attitude, no hassles to get attention. I've only been proofed once...and they remember! Mind you I'm 70! Next Time I'm bringing a friend!

Literally the best! Jan was friggen amazing as was the rest of the staff. We came with a huge group last minute and everyone was so accomodating. We got to book the last table and the food/drink great value and the playground for the kids was unreal. Honestly. The best!!!!!

We have been coming go the bowlo for many years with our children. The menu is fantastic, as is the food, portion sizes huge!
Jan the bar manager is amazing, always super friendly an.d she certainly looks after you. Jan will go that extra mile for you and she always remembers your name. The new adults only area is terrific, perfect when you don't have the kids with You Altenativly there is a kid friendly area also,. It's perfect in many ways. Don't hesitate To give the bowlo a go!

Highly recommend!!!! Came here for my birthday over the wknd & what an amazing day. Each of my guests gave me raving compliments for the venue of choice. The Leichhardt Bowlo caters for everyone. Kids play area (the kids loved it) and the recent refurb where they've converted one the greens into an outdoor area (great for summer & wknd arvo sessions), what a great job! Cheap drinks, super friendly staff & bare foot bowls just to make it even more appealing. Love, love, love.. def my new fav local watering hole. Great work guys!

quiet surroundings with excellent Bistro family friendly. Clean and spacious, yet cosy. Beverages very reasonable prices

Early days for me, 3 Rd visit in 2 years, menu average to good, expensive for a club of its type. Bistro staff friendly but a little slow. Will try at a later date & compare to recent visit. Room for improvement while covert is running interference.
