Good location, not far from Lake Illawarra and Shellharbour Square, plenty of transport available lots of parking. Good pub food and beer. Great atmosphere for families with beer garden and facilities for children. All in one level, easy enough for the elderly or those with walking aids and wheelchairs to get around.

About 20-30 of us came here for lunch and a few drinks after a mates funeral, many elderly family members. We were told by the (assumed) manager Mitch, that we would need to leave when the 'influx of regular local's arrived', we are majority locals, at the time there were about 4 people here other than us... no bar lines or waits.
We were told by Mitch that if we didn't leave the Police would be called. None of us were intoxicated or misbehaving, we simply had to leave because their locals were 'arriving soon'. We came for lunch and drinks to celebrate at a place we shared many good times with our late friend. How ridiculous and disrespectful and disappointing. Seriously never ever heard anything like it!

Very friendly staff and customer service. We went for dinner at the bistro cause we loved it last time and loved our meals again. We had butter chicken and beef cheek pie absolutely beautiful. It's our new local favourite

Big and warm rooms to stay in. Bed was super comfortable. Great having the bistro in the same address so we can get a great feed and a drink then wander back to our room. Good choice to stay over at this place.

Big changes since I had last visited. Great new outlay to the premises. New bistro that I'm sure will grow to a bigger and better Bistro/Restaurant. Pokies are still as hungry as ever, but someone is sure to get a win ?

It was a lovely surprise walking in the door of the hotel. It's well renovated with a a really nice vibe. Lots of afternoon sunshine, with a great outlook if you have kids playing in the playground. The staff were really friendly, and the food, although a limited menu was some of the best Pub Grub I've had in awhile. Will definitely be coming back.

The staff are nice enough but for $9 a beer i don't think its worth it. Food is so expensive. We put 2k in the pokies for 1 feature of $25. Just go to Shelley's

Only rating this so low because this place used to be an amazing and affordable pub with fantastic food at wals kitchen for really fair prices, and now it is so expensive and the food is no where near as good.
$12 for a massive burger and chips from wals or $22 for an average burger and chips.
Getting rid of him and his kitchen and upping all their prices was this places downfall.

The beer battered fish was as good as any I have ever had anywhere in the world. $6.20 for a small bottle of coke was pricey.

Here for a night and the food here was absolutely amazing ? we had the rump steak with mushroom sauce that was to do die for. Will stop by again just for the food alone. Pub appears to be newly renovated, very very nice. Staff were very friendly. Hotel room clean and modern.

Neat tidy room best accommodation we stayed in our holidays in Dec Jan 2023. Just didn't get our 2nd time milk supply else all great value

Depressing old dirty pub. Only given 4 stars as undergoing renovation. Also has no lake view despite being called Lake view lol

Without doubt the worst accommodation I have stayed in. You have to check in at bottle shop guys cracked it when said we are checking in. TV would not stay on a channel just kept flicking through and the kicker is the mould all through the bath room. If you stand on your tippy toes you may catch a glimpse of the lake 2 kms away.

First time for us. Cold beer... No in-house tucker but there's a food van until the kitchen reopens. The whole pub is much overdue some reno's... Really only worth 3 stars.

Basic. As in you can't function well in the 21st century out of this hotel. No WiFi, unclean, and limited drinks.
Good news is that on a Sunday you can listen to horrible, loud, live music all afternoon! Felt sorry for the locals living nearby.
Don't recommend to stop here if interviewing for jobs in the area or doing any contract work.

Sad to say this, our group has been coming here for 5+ years was great until this time around with new security and a new licensee.

Bar was cut off 5 drinks in with no explanation very rude and abrupt.

Will not be coming back.

Staff are lovely and friendly. But the bistro was 1 of the best feeds I've had. I ate on Tuesday. It was the best. Surprise me on a quiet night. I went home full and very pleased. But I had to stay another night but almost didn't get a room. But guess what the dinner was just as good but if not better. Chef is a true cook. I would recommend he moved to Sydney where we could all enjoy his food. Great feed !!!!!!!!

Checked in to a room, and the room had a damp smell, the bathroom ceiling was full of mould and looked like it had not been cleaned. The bed sheets were not changed and you could actually see the sheets were dirty and full of hair, absolutely disgusted. I spoke to reception and after a struggle to change rooms they moved me to a new room. The rooms are pretty consistent when it comes to hygiene. I had no choice but to ask for fresh sheets and stay there, being we are in lockdown and had work commitments for the week in the area. Photos of the bathroom ceiling speak for themselves. It's a health issue and they need to promptly fix these hygiene issues.

Stayed at the motel, clean & comfortable beds, not enough blankets & poor bathroom privacy due to the window size/position. Meals in the hotel were very nice

Had lunch here today. Loved it because it reminded me of my youth. This pub/motel is booked out on weekdays by travelling tradies. Today the food, although firmly in the classic pub tradition with few vegan/tarian options, was beautifully cooked. I had vegetables plus chips. The pumpkin, broccoli, snap peas, and carrots eyes perfect, cooked from scratch, while chips serving was enormous and similarly perfect. My companion had the $12.50 lunch fish and chips and loved it. Plus the live music was MORE than great. We were inside but there was an outside under cover area plus an outdoor on the grass area. While I get that this pub makes its money on weekdays, I'm really surprised they are not busier on the weekend. TAB available.

Good place to stay, close to the beach, without the beachside prices. As part of the pub, you do not have to go too far for a cold beer and good food. Quiet and enjoyable.

The room was just acceptable as a 3 star but with past guests wrapping a plastic bag around the fire alarm so they could smoke in the room and then leave cigarettes in the room which the cleaners didn't notice is not acceptable. In the hotel on ANZAC day when you bought a drink even a glass of wine the put it in a plastic cup when I asked why I was told it's ANZAC day!!!. so what do they do on a busy Saturday night?

I'm a pilot from the US and stopped in while shipping a helicopter home. The food in the restaurant is amazing. Looks like just a hole in the wall, but it is first class high end restaurant cuisine.

Dont stay here. They charged us for a room even we did not stay and we had talked to them before we came. We have 1 extra room and do not use it so we are willing to charge the first night and return the next night And they agree.

The service was fine. I stayed there this Thursday the 15/10 and I have to say the beds were gross. The sheets had stained and were clearly not changed. I know its a motel but I at least expected clean fresh sheets. The blanket on top was dusty and stained as well. My wife who is allergic to dust was sneezing throughout.This was not a good experience.
