The family and I went for lunch today. The food was absolutely delicious and came out very fast. The service was exceptional, the woman that served us was so lovely and on the ball with everything. We will definitely be going back.

Great renovation, but unfortunately the food staff including the Manager on duty last night have been left behind with 'old fashioned' attitude and lack customer service. There are many better options on the Coast with better staff willing to be flexible with a family with 2 kids.

Stopped by for a drink with some friends. Great beer selection on tap. Prices are reasonable.
The Lakes Hotel looks great after the refurbishment. Feels really comfortable and inviting inside. We sat in the outdoor area, which was comfortable, and had a wood fire that helped remove the chill from a wet spring evening.
Will come back soon and try the food.

Wow. Ordered two of the Tuesday Night $15 steak specials. Amazing value served with chips, salad and choice of sauce. Perfectly grilled and the diane sauce was delicious. Added creamy garlic prawns to one for $6. Got 5 prawns, yum yum.
Kids had schnitzels and a chicken burger and didn't leave a crumb. Great work Lakes Hotel. Thank you for making a family dinner affordable and not skimping on quality and presentation. Huge ticks.

I came here for lunch with my mother. This hotel is handy for us and we'd been before.

We had a following appointment nearby so we arrived at 11:30.

Mum ordered the rib eye medium rare with chips and salad. I chose the house made gnocchi.

It took 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. Not sure why. Many people who ordered after us were getting their meals.

The gnocchi was delicious! A little seasoning was all it needed.

Unfortunately mum's rib eye was chewy! Not to worry. The manager was amazing. He fixed everything. He suggested the salmon as a replacement meal which arrived within 10 minutes. It was perfectly cooked! A good save.

Of course we'll return!

We had the $15 lunch menu - ordering fish and chips and hamburger & chips. The service was exceptional, lady who took our order, the lady at the bar and the lady who delivered our meals all were very hospitable. The food was satisfactory, perhaps a little light on with the fish but overall our experience was positive.

James gave amazing customer service taking my order and delivering it.
Sandy definitely goes above and beyond for her customers. Very fast service and yet every time managed to either make me laugh or feel just a little bit special.

Don't let the mobility scooters parked out front put you off. This is a place for all ages, bands, trivia, raffles, sports bar, and awesome bistro. Did I mention the awesome bistro - top food. Don't forget to pop down to the BottleMart for take home and say hi to Stew, Aaron & Simon.

Never heard of The Entrance in all my travels. What a great town and area. Can't wait to return on a van holiday.
The Lakes Hotel was old Art Deco. So cool. Our room was quiet and clean.
The pub meal was nice and service efficient.
We had a great overnight stay on our travels.

Good mushroom risotto and decent chicken Cesar salad for the price. Good options of beers but they will sting you for extra cash for a ginger beer without ice which is the first place I've seen that does that. The environment was relaxed and chill although it was loud and was confusing talking to the bar staff at times when ordering. Overall good place and also has live music so good for a few beers

Customer service above and beyond the call of duty! Staff went out of their way to assist our unruly party of 8 adults and 5 children under 7.
The food was great and delivered very promptly. Wine list was great too but the staff were absolutely fabulous!

The bistro is newly renovated and so fresh and vibrant, really fits in with the coastal location. The daily lunch specials are pretty good and run 7days a week, which is unheard of. The food came out super fast and was good serving sizes and tasted pretty good too. All in all working out when we are going back again. The staff were all super helpful, clearing the table really quick and always happy to assist along with a smile.

The food here is amazing, the menu has been re vamped and just wow. Having eaten in good restaurants all over Sydney, I would say this food tastes like it could have been served in any of them. We have been twice over the past few weeks and are never disappointed. The staff are always smiling and helpful even when under pressure. We as locals look forward to our next visit here, my mouth is already watering at the thought of what I can order next time. Well done Lakes!

Great local pub that's just had a massive refurbishment. The place looks great. Live music on weekends. Karaoke. Great food and a few bars to choose from. Also has rooms for accommodation at a great price. Rooms ate clean. Ammenities are tidy. Great atmosphere.

Travelling for a few days across hunter valley to the entrance and by far this is the worst place. Ordered 2 serves of half racks ribs which has small 4 ribs on each, half size of my hand. Standard pork full ribs has around 10 to 13. So this is really below standard. The chicken schnitzel is an absolute shocker that is extremely salty. The only flavour is salt not chicken, is the same as eating salt. After complaining to staff, no apologies and claim that this is how it supposed to be with a straight face. Not acceptable to serve food like this n think its fine. There are much better place to dine and don't waste your time and money here.

Great place for lunch, nice food and good beer on tap. The staff were polite and the food was good and it came out in good time, all up very pleasing experience, good for young and old. I recommend the smoked Moroccan beef brisket and the salt and pepper squid.

So I had to stay locally overnight. As a guy who can sleep on a lumpy couch and no luxury needed... I looked on line for the cheapest bed I could find. Well I rang and asked if they had vacancy for a single male. It was cheap.

30 minutes later I had arrived, checked in. My room was clean simple and had tea / Coffee and a jug, a fridge with water and a TV in a small room with tall ceilings with a ceiling fan, a TV and table and chair and place to put my clothes. The windows open in front of fine security mesh . To let the air in and out. It was actually perfect. Good crisp linen , warm bed cover and spare blanket. And a towel. Bathrooms were clean and bright .

What more could I need.

Weeknights there is different specials at the bistro. The food was good.

The supermarket is 30 seconds away .

This was a pub that is a hotel. Pubs like this come with that caveat... Drunk patrons might also stay the night.

In general my say was excellent. It looked recently spruced up. Definately worth the dollars to stay in a pinch.

Check out was friendly and easy.

So close to the main strip and tourist areas.

I'm giving them 5 stars because even though there wasn't any vegan options on the menu, they tried their best to provide us with something, tweaking meals to accommodate us.
The food was delicious and the girl who served us was extremely helpful and friendly. We called around local pubs and a restaurant about vegan options and this was the only one who said they would help as best they could. That is all we could ask for.
Well done lakes hotel for having great staff a great chef and a friendly atmosphere. We will definitely come back. P.S

Food was nicely cooked. Didn't have to wait too long. Steak cooked perfectly. Gravy needs improvement as it was watery. Service great. Place very clean, including toilets. Their other bar had a pool table. Great out door seating area. Several options where you can watch sports on TV. $15 meal specials except public holidays. We've been twice since arriving and probably will go again before our holiday is over. Parking area next door next to. Bottle shop.

Great food with a nice view. Will be great once the beer garden is up and running. The only downfall was that the live music finished early on Sunday. And there were no speakers outside to hear the music inside.

Great venue to eat with good quality tucker at affordable prices. There's lots of entertainment too with live music, Trivia and lots more.

It's time for a review update. Came here yesterday for a bite to eat with the Mrs and it was fantastic. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was top shelf and the pub was clean and tidy. It appears to have been renovated since I was last here and the theme is very nice! There was plenty of Miners laptops to have a slap on, the drinks were cold and refreshing and it wasn't too badly priced with a vodka and Red Bull being $10.
I'll say this again that the food is very nice. We didn't have a good win but our money wasn't sucked either.
Overall it's well worth a stop in.

Had the rump for lunch, and I have to say, it was actually best one I've had on the coast so far. Mostly, everyone else's lunches were decent sizes too, although the fish was a little too small for my dads liking.
Amenities were clean and the staff were friendly.

Have eaten here a couple of times now and food is outstanding. Staff were super friendly and manager, Zane, could not have been more welcoming - ten out of 10 for customer service! Venue has a lovely vibe and in a top spot. Highly recommended!

This is a modern pub with good food.
The first day we came here we tried a burger each. My partner had the Dirty Harry he found that it was very salty. He would of give. More stars if it was less salty. However it was still had a good taste. I had the lakes burger. I would give it 5 stars it tasted amazing best pub burger I have had.

Then because they where so good. The taste is almost like a paprika, capsicum sauce with little head. I would say mild spiciness.

The pub has a massive range of tap beers are 15-16 different types of beer.

Very friendly service, food was simple but well cooked, tasted great.Roomy enough your not sitting on the table next to you. Recommended to me and I'll recommend to other.

Delicious We spent four nights at The Entrance and ate The Lakes Hotel twice. Great menu, with lots of choices - food-wise and price-wise. $15 lunch specials, seniors meals and a kid's menu. I really enjoyed my meals - both interesting salads; one with smoked chicken and the other with fresh cooked prawns. The hotel's dining area looked like it had recently undergone a substantial renovation, and was open and modern. The serving staff were very friendly and efficient and meal waiting times were excellent both visits.

Had dinner there. I had a burger that was way over cook and very dry. Girlfriend had a steak and said it was dry too. Very disappointing. The food is usually good.

I loved my stay at the Lakes Hotel. I was in Sydney for 5 days and decided to have a night off and explore The Entrance.The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the shared amenities were well maintained, the bed was comfy and the food was great.The location is central and in walking distance from the beach and lots of lovely shops.The room was quiet also, despite being located on top of the hotel's bar and gaming rooms.

food is plus one for $5 dollars lunch and dinner on all mains over 20 dollars!

All the staff at the Hotel were lovely. Special mention to Sandy. Room and amenities we spotless. Food and cocktails beautiful. A little noisy, but what do you expect its a pub. Would come back again for sure. Loved it.
