Disappointing to say the least

Drinks ok Service ok Ambience ok but my Parma a disgrace it looks like they do a few whole ones them cut into small pieces.

Mine was three small pieces with the topping for $28 dreadful nowhere near a proper Parma

Great spot, the best view from a bar I've ever seen. I was only here for a beer, the menu looks good. Staff are attentive and the decor/atmosphere is inviting. No local beers on tap or in the fridge is a let down...

Called in for lunch today and the chef was brilliant. Thanks for the great meals and for the freindly smiling staff! Keep up the great work. We will be back ?

Had two Angus burgers for dinner ($22 each)

Nice fresh tomato, lettuce and a small amount of beetroot.

The burger patty tasted like it was just mince with nothing else added and the chips were very crispy and delicious like they'd been cooked in oil that was the right temperature and clean. As far as hamburgers go, this was *almost* a healthy option noting there was garlic aioli and cheese. There was also an option to choose a plant based patty.

Shared a generous portion of Sticky Date Pudding ($14) with salted caramel icecream.

I absolutely loved the seafood chowder, prawns, mussels, salmon, tuna and other secret ingredients..
The toasted crunchy bread roll absorbed the creamy juices ?????
From Cairns to Melbourne I've had quite a few dishes....

We had dinner here tonight and it was honestly the worst food I've ever eaten and we ordered the two most expensive mains on the menu.

The salad dressing was awful! The corn was not cooked and tasted only like lime, but the worst of it, the spare rib were boiled and had a big of bbq sauce on top ???

Do yourself a favour and don't dine here. Over cooked steaks - had to argue that medium rare is not well done. Whole dining experience after that went downhill fast.

A downright horrible experience. We will never come back. My partner and I arrived at 6:20pm and asked if they had a table for two. We didn't have a booking which is our mistake, but the server was incredibly rude. He laughed and said there were no tables. At first we thought he was joking but he wasn't. I asked if we could come back soon when a table freed up which he made out to seem nearly impossible. He told us to come back at 7:30. We were more than happy to do that as it was only a hour wait so decided to go downstairs to the bar and have a drink while we wait. He told us we couldn't eat down there and we said that it's fine we are happy to enjoy a drink while we wait. During our drink downstairs a group of 6 people came in proceeded to walk upstairs and came down to eat in the area we were told we couldn't. Apparently it's different rules for different customers.
Finally, the food was honestly disappointing and not enjoyable. I had the curry was barely Luke warm and tasted like water. I am guessing it was reheated leftovers. My partners schnitzel was "edible". No one asked us how our food was when our table was cleared our plates were just taken. I don't think they cared.
Horrible service, less than desirable food.

Bought a rump steak which was expensive for a sinewy cut of below average rump. Did not even look like a rump. Was poorly cooked, and uneatable in the end. Complained to a female manager who advised she normally does not recommend people ordering the rump due to this yet they took our money..... no offer of a refund. Will not be back and observed another complaining also during our meal.

Went there for lunch, asked them if a table is available got told they are fully booked for dinner.. ok so you don't serve lunch? Tried to book a table for dinner then and fully booked.. and every night from then on I have tried booking a table for dinner and always fully booked. Must remember to book now for December 2023!

Beautiful view. Could do with some work on the customer service side of things. Food took an hour to be made and was very average. Med to well done steak was very well done.
Would I recommend this place...mmm...just for the view.

Great location, such a pretty view, great view and great meal! I had the pan fried salmon which was perfection, but best I have had in a number of years. My hubby had the rump which was also cooked amazingly well. A good selection of beers on tap and prices of food and drink were good. The only downside was atmosphere. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the room itself needs a little oomph to make it more inviting and modern. Would definitely go again though. The salmon...?

Open and comfortable atmosphere with fairly standard prices. Very attentive and friendly staff who provide quality service, food and drinks.

The bar does not serve cocktails but they can make simple mixers upon request. The food and drinks were high quality, my only comment is that larger sauce portions for certain menu items such as the salmon and chicken schnitzel would be great.

It's one of those restaurants where you think why did I bother. Nothing on the website photos is actually on the menu. The chefs are really quite rude and verging on arrogant.
There is a huge choice of places to dine in the area; so don't choose this one.

Beef ragu with saffron linguine had neither beef nor saffron linguine but it did have an overwhelming smell and taste of liver. I'd be embarrassed to serve it to my dog. Kids bolognese was also inedible.
Drinks were nice and views were great.

Food and drinks are affordable, quality of food was OK. I enjoyed the oysters. Staff were friendly and lovely to deal with. Curry and halloumi chips were very disappointing, felt like I was eating frozen halloumi chips. Curry needed more flavour, was rather bland. View is great to relax in front while eating a meal. Location is right in the centre of Merimbula.

We weren't expecting much; being a Monday there were very few options but we had just got into town so decided to stop for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. The meal was excellent, reasonably priced, fresh and well cooked, good service and great views. A nice little spot for a pot and Parma ??'?

Great entertainment, top pub food. Definitely restaurant quality. Perfectly pan fried salmon, crispy skin was spot on and calamari in panko crumbs, not greasy, lightly fried and golden. Seriously good. Will come back anytime

Usually great meals and service here, went for lunch today with friends. A limited lunch menu which is expected but no vegetarian options. Wife approached staff and asked if they could do the curry with veggies instead of beef, short answer, no. So our group left.

Great spot, views of the bay. Rooms are great for a night out 2. Bar and bistro are good value

The dining area was clean and had a great view. Food was delicious- the curries were flavour bombs and the seafood was cooked perfectly.

Food was the worst meal on our trip. Everywhere in the area offers fresh local seafood. There's a great view of the water with fishing nets but the seafood here is obviously frozen from a supermarket. And they missed putting through my order so I ate on my own. These things happen but the quality of food was terrible. Very disappointing.

Good service, nice situation, nice atmosphere, BUT the Burrito Bowl was simply "awful" sorry!! Didn't like it & couldn't eat it due to strange flavours, no cheese & worst of all had cabbage in the salad. I am use to a different style I guess. My friends enjoyed their meals though...

Good location. Great owners. The rooms are clean and well appointed.

Friday night (26 Mar) we had a window table at the Lakeview - great view.
Both had the Surf & Turf special with the rump steak. Fantastic meal.
Returned on Monday night and Surf & Turf was now with a T-bone. My meal was good but not as good as the rump one.
I had great service when ordering meals but hubby found the bar staff a bit rude which took one star off our rating.

Food was really good. A tad on the expensive side. Service was ok, nothing special. Few choices for beer on tap.

Good steak, nice staff, cold beer.Could have more styles of beer by the bottle. Potentially local beer.

There are no words...fab. They They keep it pure and simple. Cold beer, great staff, covid registration, good food, great view...have been here on previous visit and it didn't disappoint. Will be back next visit.

Im from interstate ,Excellent service .very comfortable atmosphere! Kid friendly.. give this place a visit if you're in town . Be fair dinkum this place deserves 5 stars other reviews are grumpy and dishonest and impure ignore other reviews please..

Came down to Merimbula for a couple of nights and had to keep coming back to the bistro! They have the nicest staff (shout out toJason! And downstairs barman) and delicious food. A great atmosphere for all ages and groups, cant wait to come back!
