Nice small Tavern, the staff were friendly the food was OK and there's plenty of very easy parking available.

Disappointed, arrived at 7:30 the night before and was told about a 1 hour wait which was fine the place was busy, tonight I'm left sitting waiting for 1 pizza for over 1.5 hours while I watch takeaway orders left sitting and no other people waiting for food. It would have been nice to know I wouldn't get my 1 pizza until after 9pm I would have gone to Woolies instead and got a frozen one as it would have also tasted better. I had just started to come here more often as I was impressed with the renovations but not sure if I'll return in a hurry.

We had a lovely evening here. Ordered meals, however my meal was not what I expected. I spoke to Imogen and within minutes I received a different meal at no extra charge. Can't fault the service.
Imogen turned out evening from possibly disappointing to very enjoyable.

I had a Butchers Shop
pizza. Base was great, topping very scarce. Certainly not like any butcher shop I've visited. I thought it would be might meaty, but the topping was scant, dominated by cheese and tomato. Teeny bits of bacon sprinkled on.

Bar staff exceptionally friendly under pressure.

This place is looking so much better now, outside dining is probably one of the better ones around with nice shed areas.

Food hopefully is still on the way up, we had a Cesar salad however I think it was a generals salad not quite Cesar worthy - lots a green and not much else. Kids had min steak and the nuggets and both plates were empty so that's good.

Pubs normally aren't known for a good salad so next time hopefully will try a steak or parmie.

All in all live music on a Sunday arvo was worth the visit and will visit again and try the menu a bit more.

Only been once to this venue, so this is a first impression review. Apparently it's had a makeover recently, so everything looks pretty new and fancy. The meals were incredible. Huge and great value. The bar is a little clunky so when a crowd builds it can be slow to get served. A great outside area for kids to climb and family friendly. Overall, I thought it was pretty good.

A serious 'stuff your face' snitty! An awesome atmosphere and has outdoor heaters for the cooler evenings. Worth a visit!

The recent renovations make for a clean, modern pub with good atmosphere. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch specials are reasonably priced and very tasty. Staff also friendly and efficient.

My daughter and I had a great dinner there 2 days ago.. I haven't been since the renovations were completed.. lovely atmosphere and good food.. happily recommend a place to go on the mid north coast..

Good atmosphere. Great menu. I had the Chilli Prawns with linguine and it was delightful. Safe and sound kids outdoor play area, with seating nearby. Staff were happy to make menu changes to accommodate fussy kids.

Tavern has just recently undertaken a major renovation so we went to check it out. They are still working on the outside area but almost there. Food was huge and delicious. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Has a great vibe. Will definitely visit again.

Great set up, lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious but unfortunately it was quite a long wait for our meal as there were only two people working in the kitchen and the bistro was quite busy. We will definitely go back but hope that they have more staff on during busy periods.

Came here with the fam on holidays. I ordered the Beach Boy pizza which was fantastic! The reno's are also coming along nicely, should be great once complete.

Great to have a trendy local place to eat with the family. Playground is very good to have! Food was yummy. Finishing touches will perfect the place incl better acoustics as mentioned previously by someone.
All staff have been so friendly which is an essential part of an enjoyable meal/drink in my view. Frozen cocktail was lovely!

First time to have a meal since the renovations. All the staff were rude except for one lady looking after the tables.
Order was stuffed up and was given to us cold. Steak was ordered medium rare, came up well done, staff don't know what's in the menu and was told it was a creamy pasta and it wasn't. Items were forgotten and the chef was rude and threw the buzzer and ignored my friend. Asked for extra parmesan and was forgotten about. Over all not a great experience.sorry.

Just went to the new bistro at the tavern for lunch with a group of friends, my meal chicken schnitzel, you would think what could go wrong well if you like dry, over cooked and tasteless. Well this would suit you. Another customer near us did not now they also serve plastic in some meals at no extra cost.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced meals, hopefully better when the renovation is finished,, a family with kids sitting right next to the bar for dinner was uncomfortable,Reno's seem to be taken a very long time.

Giving a three star rating is being quite generous, inside the surroundings are a little rough and in need of a renovation to brighten up the atmosphere, the wooden table top was sticky which was unpleasant, the food and pricing were quite reasonable and the staff friendly, would we go there again, most probably not.

Update, as the owner has responded courteously since I uploaded this review, informing me that they are in the process of a renovation, I would be prepared to keep an open mind and visit the Lake Cathie Tavern again.

We go every week for trivia love it friendly. Clean amazing staff. Menu could be a little more veggie based. Love the atmosphere.

Wow!! First time to dine at Lake Cathie Tavern today. My partner and I were greeted with friendly staff. The prices were reasonable and the food was amazing. Highly recommend dining here. I'm looking forward to going back.

Beautiful food and reasonably priced drinks. I had the chicken burger which was massive and made for a great meal. My partner had the vego tacos which she raved about. While we were there they had meat raffles for the local marine rescue and they also had free trivia. Past reviews have said the food wasn't great but I can assure you that the food we ate was amazing.

Good times at the local.
Friendly staff and service.

Plenty of outside tables for the smokers too.
