Had dinner here on a hot day with my nan 84 years old spent 74 dollars on food and drink either of us had a phone on us so kindly asked the people to call a cab the manager blonde hair blatantly refused while a younger worker pulled out her phone said she'd call a cab to pick us up and to sit at the taxi bay so we did waited 30 minutes for nothing to come in other words no one called a cab for us it was 32 degrees outside my poor nan had to sit in the heat while I ran home in the heat to get my phone and call a cab just to go back and pick her up absolutely ridiculous nice venue run by horrible people not going back that's for sure

Walked into bistro and immediately smelt a smell similar to urine. It wasn't a nice odour in a dining room before a planned meal. I would have left immediately but I had two young hungry children.

We sat at our table and used the QR code on the table to order 3 drinks and 3 meals. Ten minutes later no drinks even though the bar was about 2 metres from our table and a near empty dining room. In fact, the food arrived before our drinks????

Before the meal, I removed the fork from the cutlery sleeve to find the fork end covered in hardened red sauce like Tomato sauce which also soaked into the napkin. Absolutely disgusting? I showed the waitress who couldn't believe it and was apologetic. Also, remember some person has eaten with that fork prior to me.

It's a shame because the waitress was polite and apologetic and offered some cake for the kids for our unfortunate experience, but we left asap after eating.

As for the meals, they were okay with no issues.

Had lunch today with a friend. Got the smallest snitzel ever with at least 15 chips and had to pay extra 2.50 for gravy. Would not recommend. Think it was a child's meal.

We arrived for Lunch at 12.40pm we Didn't order lunch specials as my daughter and I thought we would treat ourselves to two nice steaks! One with Veg and one with Salad.
So $72.00 and 40 minutes later our Meals came out and I must say Coming from a family of Chefs we aren't upperty critics as we know how hard a good chef works!
But Wow Iron Horse Inn our meals were very Sub Standard to say the least!.. First thing I noticed was My Mash potato was a strange colour not white and fluffy as mash should be.. It was very dry and crumbly and tasted like it was left overs from the night before's service!..
The Cauliflower and Broccoli weren't much better and the corn had a sourness to it that was enough for me to leave aside!
The "packet"creamy Creamy Garlic sauce I had for my steak was a disappoint but at least it softened the tough dry steak! Medium to well and not very Well done does make a difference!
Did we say anything?
No...We didn't have the time anyway to wait another 40 minutes for a replacement..And we weren't looking for a refund either... We just wanted to sit and have a nice lunch together and catch up!
We should have known something wasn't quite right because the place was empty and it was the Middle of what should be a busy Friday lunchtime.
I hope the Chef finds His/Her passion for food again as it's clear they don't have much pride in their meals! Even if it's it's just good old Pub Grub,because this was borderline appalling and I would have been embarrassed to let those meals leave the kitchen!..

Cold schooners at the best price Ive seen in a long time! Wise variety of beers on tap and the staff are exceptional. They know their job well, and they've always got a smile. Cheers!

Amazing service, Zee the Assistant Manager was great. She came around and made sure the meals were perfect as ordered - the rump was cooked perfectly. The loaded fries are certainly tasty! Thank you to all the staff, you made our belated Christmas party a great event. See you again soon ??'??

My husband and I had our Christmas Lunch at the pub. The experience was outstanding. The staff were exceptional, friendly, courteous and attentive. The food was amazing, there was just so much and we were encouraged to take home what we couldn't eat. We will tell all our friends about your service and hope we can do it again next Christmas. Thank you so much, very well done.

Me and my friends call around 8.20pm and try to take advanced order but person who attend the call did not took the order and ask come in pub and order. We reached around 9.45 coz we were traveling long way. After we reached to the pub chefs were almost done closing. Then we ask to Zee can we still take orders, she said yes but she was not happy, actually rude. We apologise many times that we are late she didn't reply a word. Unfortunately not with us but she was really rude to someone else in pub. Food was 3 out of 5 but zee was really rude and annoying. As a customer we deserve smile service I guess. Other bar staff was nice he offered us water. Thanks to chef who stayed until late.

Some old lady at the bar tonight was rude and snobby to customers. Repugnant customer service from her alone turned a good night out, to a night that has made the whole group uncomfortable and wanting to leave. I urge management to review this woman's employment all together as this venue could be truly thriving without her.

First time for having dinner here, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the place has a relaxed atmosphere. Had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and it was delicious.

Staff are very polite and friendly. The staff member with pink hair particularly stands out- really wonderful customer service.
Overall food was pretty good, meals were very large though. Good chips. Kids spaghetti meatballs were very dry though and again really big especially for a child to eat.
Bistro area was very clean.
Very enjoyable visit.

Came on Saturday night for two. About half full. Got parma and schnitzel.

1. One should not wait 50 minutes for a parma in a pub. This was a deal breaker.
2. Chicken was dry.
3. The pub is organised in such a way that the smell cigarette smoke is very perceptible in the bistro area. This was an unpleasant experience.

Nice atmosphere and the meals were a decent size. Great value for money. I visited the Iron Horse on a weekday and the food came out fairly quickly considering the amount of people here. The staff were also nice and friendly. Keep up the great work!

We went on a Saturday night. the meals came out quick for a busy night. Couldnt fault the meals.

Great pub, good quality air conditioning. Staff are friendly. Very clean and tidy. Pokie room, smoking area. 8 Ball Pool table. Great experience.

$15 lunch special was pretty basic. Two dry-ish pieces of fish, chips and salad. Staff could be more welcoming.

Called in for a meal on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised when greeted by the bar waitress on entry.
Good steak, cooked as requested and delivered promptly for a good price.
Good atmosphere, comfortable and clean & tidy.
I'll be eating here again.

Partner had Schnitzel chips and salad he said the best part was the salad.
I had flat head chips and salad the fish wasn't nice at all..

We came for a game of pool to find the locals had a name board and you had to play the winner. We were unable to have a friendly game together and waited for over an hour to play a random local, as we seen the players come in and out of the smoking room mucking around we knew it would be an even bigger wait to play then anticipated so decided to leave and just go home.....

Extremely disappointing experience

I have gone to the Iron horse Cardiff a few times both with mates, and myself!! The food there is absolutely amazing. The staff are a great bunch of people who are very knowledgeable, friendly, and always making you feel welcome!I would strongly suggest to anyone that hasn't been to the Iron Horse to come down and have a feed, few drinks and relax with mates or yourself. Highly recommend it.5 stars to the Iron Horse, keep up the great work.:-)

Went for lunch today with my husband...... unfortunately cannot say a good word about this place. Amenities were filthy and food was basically inedible . I have had better deep fried slops on the $7 menu at the club. Presentation of the staff also left a lot to be desired.

I have been here a few times with family and as a big group. Food is amazing and the set up and room acoustics mean you can eat as a group and still hear each other!we will definitely continue to return.

A nice family friendy hotel, reminds me of the ones back home in scotland. Very warm inviting atmosphere. I tip my hat of to the management team and staff. Great job.

After a visit with my daughter, who happens to be handicapped I found myself so pleased with how we were both treated.My dear Sara tends to drool a great deal and can only eat gluten free.I asked the manager Rob which gluten free options were available and if we could have extra napkins and be brought Sara seven chicken nuggets and a towel.Not much makes her smile but Rob did.Thanks Rob, you really made our alimony dinner a treat!

Great place to eat. Sadly as a celiac I cannot eat the schnitzels but they make them on site and they look and smell amazing. The wife raved about hers for a god 20 minutes so must have been good.
