Generous bistro meals came out very quickly. Friendly staff and patrons. Had Fisherman's basket, crumbed lamb cutlets and flathead fillets with salad/chips or mash/veges.

Pub was full of Rutherglen roaming Festivals. But they all left by 10pm and it was a public holiday next day. Had pub to our selves. Out door fire place good. Friends bought there dog awesome

Over the last few months I have been trying the meals here! And what can I say other then amazing! Fantastic value, great menu and the food has always been cooked to perfection! Always greeted with lovely customer service too from ever person that works there. I would 110% recommend people to give this country pub a go you will not be disappointed!

On a long kayaking trip we pulled into hawrong and walked to grab a dinner. Found this pub. As soon as we walked in were greated by 2 very customer focused bar staff. The venue was a great country style hotel. The meal was top notch.
Kitchen staff were very frendly too. Thanks eveeyone.

Never met ruder staff. Don't expect a smile. If your husband finishes your child's ice cream he will get Death stared and we were refused a kids meal ice cream even after paying for several adults meals close to $30, we were told no because it's for an adult when in fact we had 4 children. So 3 kids got ice cream, 1 missed out. Meals were small for the price. Head to the court house down the street, much better pricing and never staff. Lesson learnt.

Can't recommend this establishment whatsoever... My partner and I came to the Howlong Hotel to eat dinner for her birthday, we both ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of chips & gravy for $54 not including drinks.

We sat down after we ordered and our meals arrived not long after. When our plates were sat down on our table we both looked at each other and could instantly tell what the other was thinking. "where's the rest?" $54 for the smallest parmi I've ever seen, a handful of undercooked chips and the smallest tub of gravy that looked like it was for a baby.
We noticed other patrons with more food on their plate so clearly only regulars get the amount on the plate that justifies the price. Massive steak and a LOT of chips.

I will give them this, the parmi was pretty good but for that price it needs to be bigger. Also might want to consider changing your ham as we could barely taste it.

Stopped for dinner after long day in car had bangers with chips and veg. A great feed with sausages from butcher next door some of the best I have had. Service was great very friendly will definitely go again. Night culminating with a terrific thank you from l believe was owner/manager .

Great food, waited over 35 minutes for our meals, but in saying that the bar was chocked full of local footy and netball goers celebrating a win today. The drink prices were steep but drinking spirits you do expect that

Lovely meals, I had the garlic prawns and hubby had the seafood combination. Despite them being very busy, meals arrived promptly and piping hot. I understand the new owners have only had the business for a week - can only say keep up the good work.

Restraunt is relaxed and more than reasonable with the food generous and tasteful. Bar flys out the front are raucous but not rude. Barman Andrew is reserved, respectful and will have a quiet chat when time permits. Will be returning.

It was good. Food portions where generous and tasty. Drinks where cold. TAB was doing a roaring trade being Melbourne cup day. We will be back.
