Can't fault the bar , food or service. Location great just up from our hotel we we're stopping in. It's set on several floors, no lifts. Roof top bar , comedy show on another floor , food on 2nd floor , VIP slot machines on bottom floor, staff friendly. Plenty of beers to try . Enjoyed our food . Prices good . On bottom floor lots of sports on TVs. Yeah if I was on Sydney again I would go .

If you're a craft beer nerd. Do yourself a favour and visit hotel sweeny. The stairs are steep but it's worth the trip to the roof top bar. $3.50 for a snag in a roll with stout infused onions and cheese is the cherry on the icing.

This pub's rooftop has a nice vibe, and good selection of craft beers.
More popular/commercial beers are available only downstairs, as well as food.
You need to keep going downstairs to order food, as well as to pick up once is ready. Unfortunately this is not convenient at all.

Greetings, fellow beer aficionado! I shall gladly whisk you away on a whimsical journey to the highest temple of rooftop craft beer venues. Picture this: you traverse a series of staircases across four floors to finally step onto a rooftop bar brimming with hops and malts, a haven for the discerning palate and the daring adventurer. So, let's embark on this delightful quest together!

Now, my dear companion, brace yourself for a cornucopia of tantalizing flavors and uncharted brewing territories. This particular venue I stumbled upon can be described as nothing short of a beery utopia. It's as if the beer gods themselves descended from their celestial barstools to bestow upon us mere mortals the nectar of the hoppy heavens.

As you enter, the air becomes an intoxicating blend of toasted grains, citrusy aromas, and subtle hints of oak. The ambiance is both rustic and modern, with an open rooftop, table umbrellas to shelter you from the elements, toasty warm heaters for cold winter days and water misters for those scorching summer afternoons. The rooftop has aged like fine bourbon and an artfully arranged collection of beer memorabilia. It's a feast for the eyes, my friend, and the best part is that you can actually drink it!

Now, let's talk about the beer selection. Oh, how the taps flow with liquid gold! Every sip is a journey through flavors you never knew existed. From the zesty citrus explosion of a West Coast IPA to the velvety smoothness of a nitro stout, you'll find yourself happily lost in a sea of taste sensations.

And fear not, dear reader, for the knowledgeable staff is here to guide you through this hoppy labyrinth. These beer whisperers can decipher your taste buds' desires with but a glance, suggesting libations that will make your heart sing and your taste buds dance.

But, and I must stress this, if you seek a cheap beer to drown your sorrows or numb your senses, tread elsewhere, my friend. This is a temple of craftsmanship and artistry, where the price of a pint reflects the meticulous love and attention poured into each brew. It's a place where quality reigns supreme, and as the saying goes, "Good beer ain't cheap, and cheap beer ain't good."

So, my dear seeker of beer-bound bliss, venture forth and let your taste buds be captivated by the magic of craft beer. But remember, in this enchanting realm of flavor and complexity it changes every Thursday with another tap takeover from the four corners of the planet. I don't know how they do it every week serving up schooners (and tasting paddles) of beer alchemy.

Cheers to the craft beer adventure that awaits you.

Cheers ?

Great place for a craft beer and cheap eats in the city. Went for Tuesday comedy and 50c wings. Was a great night, drinks are reasonably priced as well, especially for the craft stuff. Only downside is they have a great rooftop but allows smoking and eating in the same area which I thought wasn't allowed. Little bit disappointing as it makes it hard to enjoy a meal with people smoking.

This is the spot! Make your way up the top floor and start enjoying the craftbeer.
Big shutouts to bartender Rachel for being the total superstar guide on the beers! Thank you! Finally portbreaks will make sense! ??????

Interesting pub with different sort of vibes/ambience on different floors. Used to be really dingy but looks like they've had a facelift.

They've got your typical local type of sports bar/pub, an old school leather cushion/seat vibe floor and the rooftop.

Slightly pricey but pretty fair given the prime location and the variety. Had a schooner of Hope Passionfruit Sour for $10 during happy hour.

They also tap some pretty sick beers occasionally from breweries around the world i.e Verdant, Deya, Cloudwater, etc.

I'm a fan of laid back pubs, especially if they have a roof top and a happy hour - and are in the middle of the city! This time I dropped in for lunch to meet an old friend. We grabbed some noodles (pad Thai and pad see ew), portions were good and were tasty. I have been on a Friday afternoons - and it's been hard to get a table as others have pre booked. Also, lots of stairs to get up to the rooftop and the levels to get there - if you have mobility issues, perhaps call and check if there is a lift.

It's all about the company you keep. The venue is a nice place to be with friends.
If you don't have any friends, you could probably make some here.
If you only have enemies, bring them here for a drink and maybe you will end up with a friend.

There are some good beers at the rooftop bar, it is a bit Smokey up there since that is the thing people still do.
The Thai food is pretty average at the food place on the second level.

All in all it's an alright venue.

Craft beer paradise with a unique rooftop bar (although its prime real estate, very hard to get a seat). Renovations were much needed and have turned this into a great pub.

Unsuspecting old style pub down stairs, but fantastic little rooftop all the way up the top of the stairs.
Note there is no lift so be willing to take a few flights of stairs to get up there.
When we were there they had some great tunes playing, misters going to cool you off and umbrellas for shade.
They also had a sausage sizzle which was awesome too!

Also note that upstairs they only have craft beers, so if you're after a classic then def grab one on your way up, it's quite a few stairs back down otherwise...

Pretty cool rooftop with it's own bar and seating. Great choices of beer on the pumps, with plenty of tasty strong beers on offer. Nice staff, friendly. Fast service. Food available on the lower floor but it can be taken up to the rooftop. Great choice of music too, no particular style, just a good mix.

Unreal atmosphere and aesthetic on the Rooftop, quite a few stairs if you struggle several levels but is worth it. One of the best schnitty's in the city only wish there was more gravy with it. Really massiverange of beer on tap suiting anyones needs. Great views and vibe, will be coming back

Good pub in the heart of the city. Offers several levels of seating, but the rooftop bar is where it's at. Need to ensure you get there early, otherwise there's no chance of getting a seat on the rooftop.

Other levels are great too, all have a good atmosphere and good beers on tap.

Proper old school Sydney pub with a couple of traditional hand pump taps with real beer in said taps. Not to mention having Kilkenny as well, which is my favourite! Great vibe and relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to go again.

A great pub. Split over many levels, you have a small old aussie pub downstairs, food on level 2 and then 2 more levels of bars with a specialist craft beer bar on with a open roof on the top floor. The range of events for craft beer are excellent with a wide range of both domestic and international beers. Great environment and decent food. Only downside is that the stairs are many and a bit narrow. Reasonably priced too, especially the craft beer paddles where you get 4 tasters and then a middy when you return the paddle.

I love the uniqueness of this place. It has multiple floors with nice little seating areas (and a fireplace in winter) and the rooftop gives a beautiful view of the city with a really cool bar. Great craft beers on tap, well priced cocktails ($14 cocktails and $25 cocktail pitchers), and a fantastic food selection. The food is Thai pub fusion, with a mix of traditional pub meals, traditional Thai meals, and then awesome Thai style burgers (massaman beef, chicken satay). The burgers are a great price of $16 for burger and chips every day.

Sweeneys isn't one of these swanky try-hard establishments. Modest decor with a local pub charm caters for a wide variety of clientele. Different levels allow for a bespoke experience. Head to the Rooftop for good vibes. Do it.

If youre looking for an alternative option, go to Arthouse Hotel around the corner. Much better service, great beer options and a classy atmosphere. And the bouncer wont refuse you entry for absolutely no reason.

Best kept secret in Sydney! The rooftop bar is my favourite, its small but drinks are inexpensive, music and service are always great

Great pub with interesting (if a smidge pricy) taplist. Only reason this place doesn't get a five is that sometimes the lower floors have had a bit of a weird smell. Like vinegar has been used to clean. Beer used to taste like they used weird cleaning product, however this most definitely has improved!
