Food was amazing! Husband had oysters and said they were the best he has eaten. I had surf and turf- the steak, fish and prawns were cooked to perfection. Staff were very professional and great to deal with!

I would say one of the worst pubs we have visited on our travels and we have travelled over 3 quarters of Australia, encountering some awesome pubs along the way. Maybe if the staff were a bit more friendly and welcoming, it would have been an okay experience.

came here for the live band. Yeah, they were alright, sort of blues band who expect at a pub in Whyalla the funniest event of the evening was the gentleman booing there entire concert who I became friends with over what south Australians incorrectly call a pint. Great art deco exterior that I'm sure would make a great Russell Drysdale painting. Everything in Whyalla seems to be some shade of red or bronze.

I've never stayed here as I live in Whyalla but it is one of my fave places in town to have my very unhealthy but scrumptious loaded wedges minis the bacon and spring rolls.

Well this hotel has changed somewhat. The front bar was not operational at all. Sad since it used to be quite busy. They do have some machines so they are still operating.

My grandfather (jack Hannan) used to bring me here every Friday when I was 4 years old.(1973) .we sat in a small alcove near the window and front door..with my nan.. right near the very end of the bar.. all the bar staff new me & fed me lemon squash & salt & vinegar chips.. back then I had no idea that my grandfather was an illegal bookie.... We'd have a drink, he'd collect owed money & take bets on horse races.. I even believe that a few of my cousin's still drink there from time to time,.!? Hello to any Hannan lads from cousin Col
