Sooo disappointed. Been here numerous times and whilst the gluten free options are extremely limited, the meals have been great. However after waiting 50 minutes and watching everyone who had arrived after us receive their meals, we discovered that ours hadn't even been processed! Not good enough. Half hearted apology, so we left and probably won't be back.

One of my favourites, it's a great space with a really nice menu. The food has always been yummy. Nice outside area, great for kids. The staff are friendly and efficient.
I'm not a fan of the public bar, and it's pretty basic. One pool table.

Two of us had lunch here on a Thursday. We had Lemon & Pepper Calamari which were quite large pieces and very tasty And Macadamia Crusted Snapper - snapper was cooked to perfection, juicy. Chips were crunchy and the best we've had in a while. Would recommend Canungra Hotel.

We are 4 locals who visit the pub often. Two of us had seafood chowder special and then the Hawaiian Parma and the Angus Burger. Chips were amazing. If a pub can do good chips then they know what they are doing. Very happy with our meals as we always are.

Why are we allowing 10 x unaccompanied children under the age of ten to run around the pub with paper aeroplanes, constantly screaming and yelling. How is this okay?? I can't wait to leave.

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night to this very popular pub. Excellent special with any two meals off the special board and a bottle of wine for $60. Steak and calamari for me was excellent and spaghetti with clams very authentic. Despite being very busy the food came out quickly.

Beautiful little pub, the waitress who took our order was not pleasant at all, couldn't smile, seemed like she hated her job. Put a bit of a bad taste in your mouth being served by someone like that. One of friends scotch fillet was over cooked and super thin, not worth the money. A couple of people at our table said the coffee was terrible. I had the T-bone steak which was nice. Will still come back but think management need to remind the staff to be friendly when they are the face of the restaurant.

This is a must hit spot for dinner and drinks if you are visiting / staying out in the Mt Tamborine area. Awesome value, the meals were great and the overall place is amazing. Exactly what you want when visiting a country pub.

We came here for a late dinner after checking into accommodation elsewhere. The staff were very accommodating and understanding of us coming at the end of service, which we greatly appreciated. The food was nice (we got a burger and fish and chips), and the portions were big. Great value for money.

Love this place ❤️ In a small town, but the accommodation is sooo convenient. Clean rooms and good size as well ❤️ It's so convenient the restaurant and bar downstairs wow! Good prices, and the staff are down to earth and great service 🥰

I stayed for one night on 9 September 2023. Check-in was easy and Sam ( bar staff) was friendly and responsive. The room itself was perfect simple but clean. It was one of the best sleeps I have ever had in a hotel the pillows and bed were amazing. The food was delicious. I would recommend it as a place to stay.

the carrot cake was terrible, dry& hard, the only thing good about the cake was the ice cream
the squid however,well it was the best i have ever had. Huuuge it was ,my wife's salmon also huuuge and she said it was delicious!

This place is awesome, food and customer service. Been there the last 2 days for lunch with friends and no disappointment. We came to Canungra showgrounds a few weeks ago for 1 night. Our travel plans have changed so we said we will come back to stay in this beautiful town ??'-

So big menu, probably best if they reduced to improve skills.
Very disappointing nachos attempt, but food should be palatable and this was a big mistake as I couldn't eat it. And snapper and chips, kitchen you need to get oil temperature right as greasy and under cooked, while salad was not fresh with rotten leaves. $50 later. Shame, but we did enjoyed the beer.
Worth noting that on leaving I saw empty tables that had plates with food picked over, so guess not only person unable to eat what was served.

I ate at the bistro for lunch on Friday. Would not go back, and perhaps not only person thinking this as quite. The food we order $50 later we could not eat it was not eatable. Unsure how this is achievable but it was our unfortunate experience. On overseeing other peoples plates as we walked out, the food left on the majority of plates was obvious. Shame as this is unfair. Perhaps if you can provide a cook then don't provide this service. So disappointed.staff serving were nice, but didn't ask how we liked the meal, guessing they knew the answer.

Quite an extensive menu. We went for lunch with our son and his partner. I wanted to try one of their popular hot dogs but unfortunately they had sold out. Ordered a burger instead which was delicious, fresh, and arrived in good time. All meals were quite good. Service was prompt and friendly, cost about what you'd expect. We didn't stay at the hotel.

I'm a local, and I love this place - have done for years. I'll also note that I'm not fussy about food, or hard to please. But over the past few months something has changed at the pub, and it hasn't been for the better. Food has just become lazy...a boring menu featuring pretty simple pub food that isn't done well.

Canungra pub used to have the best chips - where did they go? Now it's soggy, bog standard fries. When kids are leaving them on their plate, that's saying something. Chicken schnitzels are overcooked. Steaks are unappealing. Salad is a bit of shredded cabbage with a piece of tomato. Pepper sauce tastes & looks like dishwater. Kids nuggets are grey and soggy. It all feels (and tastes) like cheap, frozen something out of a packet. A quarter of the new whizzbang menu is taken up by a wine list, which might indicate where the establishment's priorities sit.

Despite this - and this is important - the service remains top notch. The staff are fantastic at getting meals out to customers and are always polite & attentive. Even when its hella busy.

I'm writing this not to whinge & moan, but to hopefully provide some helpful criticism. I've always loved this pub, but I think it's lost its charm a little bit and I feel this stems from the kitchen. This is the only pub in Canungra, so we locals have a vested interest in its quality and genuinely want it to do well.

One night is good any more and it's a bit cramped. Just a bed and small bathroom. And one chair to sit on. They do provide t2 tea of all different flavors so that's a nice touch. But it was very clean. I would say that you shouldn't expect much more from an old school pub but it's not cheap at all. So expected a bit more for the money...

I'm sorry, but we have been let down so many times every time we go here and it's just disappointing. To find out this owned by a Coles and we pay you a lot of money everytime we go there for lunch or dinner, we NEVER get our value for money. You're ripping people off!

Last Saturday at 10:30am, I booked for a table of 8 for my mothers birthday.
We waited a LONG time to be greeted and shown to our table, and when she finally came she served the people behind us. I said excuse me but we were waiting here first, she's disregarded me and continue to serve the 2 people behind us. The customer behind us was so rude to us and she said "Well we booked.." so I said "so did we..🤨?" Not like that makes a difference. Anyway the waiter didn't say anything to us, turned her back again and showed them to their table like they were VIP. There was 8 of us including 4 children who wanted to eat! Then when she finally returned we found out they only booked for 4 people and said "oh you must of booked at 5:30 pm". "No we booked at 10:30am.." As this point I wanted to leave.

They finally made up a table and then the food was awful for ridiculous prices. The issue is that you can't put on events and you can't serve that many people, cause the food is coming out isnt any good. Cold chips, uncooked risotto, over dry steaks. I'm done. I'm no longer going here or recommending it to anyone.

But shoutout the the really young girls who work there, who apologised on behalf of the this pub! I feel sorry for them.

Been coming here for years, the food has always be great, my other half and I have a lunch date every 2 Monday and share the buffalo wings, they were fresh chicken wing smothered in bbq sauce and a ranch dip amazing !

Return back today they have changed the menu and the wings are now frozen deep fried wing digs (with no dip and minimal sauce) that any Gold Coast smoko van Will service you for a fraction of the price

Had a family get together, there were 6 of us and not one person enjoyed their meal. We all thought pizzas to start would be nice only to be told there's no pizza at lunch time, why then was it on the menu? So quick change, l decided on nachos to share with my husband, no sour cream, basically no meat which was probably a good thing as it was dry and burnt tasting, my brother had fried chicken, only crumbs no chicken to speak of, steak sandwich wasn't too bad, prawns were mush. The whole things was extremely disappointing, staff were great. Definitely won't be back.

A great family pub. Food is always good, a little expensive but worth it. Staff are very friendly and always helpful. Great little room for the kids to play and lovely outdoor beer garden.

Beautifully clean character filled rooms. We booked two rooms next door to each other, both were lovely, with new bathrooms and comfy beds. No noise from the pub downstairs.

This use to be my favourite place to eat a few years ago. I use to love everything in the menu and all the staff were great. But, now days, I haven't had a good experience in ages. I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because of how they use to but they continue to disappoint. Main issues are:

1. They have managed to stuff up something for every order for the last several months (e.g. wrong meal, missing a side, missing ingredients, etc.)

2. Very late delivery when getting it delivered or pick up didn't start to be cooked until I went to pick it up. Was told they missed the order and so I had to wait 20 minutes for them to do the order (which contained ingredients that were requested to be removed) - defeats the entire point of pick up.

4. Haven't had a good experience with staff for quite a long time.

5. Food quality has really dropped. Menu feels like they're trying to be a fancy Greek inspired restaurant or something but they can't pull it off so it's all just bland and dry.

I use to love this place (back when they had good food and lovely staff) and so this is very disappointing. I've tried to keep going back because of the memories of the old days but I think it's time to accept that they have changed and are no longer worth the time. You know there's a problem when I pick what to eat not based on what I want, but rather what is safe and likely to be delivered as promised. They've lost me 😞

Went to the bistro for a meal with friends and family. Menu is pretty good with a big variety of selections.
The wood fired pizza's looked great and were made and delivered in reasonable time.
Steak was cooked very well also.

[Good News]: The hotel has been renovating all rooms (still in-progress at this time). And now, all rooms has ensuite!!! 🥳 Oh my god, nothing can beat this goodness! We stayed the exact same room that we stayed a few years ago, and it was a nice surprised that the room was upgraded and looked so nice. Hotel has an amazing restaurant and the food is delicious 😋 The location is great, just a short walk to the town center. It is also a great hub to go all destinations in Scenic Rim and beaches on Gold Coast. We had a lovely stay and will come back again :)

Great country pub with indoor and outdoor areas. Dog friendly. Also nice to see vaccine checks in place. And of course - ice cold beer

What fabulous service! The staff were so lovely and keen to ensure we were informed. The food was amazing and they was so much. Excellent value for money and very happy to accommodate gluten free.

2 Years ago I gave this place a 1 star review. Heard of new peeps in there and went last night for dinner. All staff great manners and great service. Food great choices and excellent presentation. Prices good and tasted great. Back next week and many more. Well done guys from a local. You deserve the 5 stars.

Rooms comfortable with authentic decor. Check in was a bit of a fuss as we had to go to the bar with several hindered patrons enjoying a Friday meal. Saying that the noise was not an issue upstairs. Tip. If you are eating in the tavern on a Friday arrive early as meals were a 1 hour wait, or bring your own food to heat in the microwave in the guest lounge. Location great for O'Reilly's or a hot air balloon trip.

Great choice for lunch. The burger was amazing! I opted for 2 patties, but 1 would have sufficed. Highly recommended.

Ordered 200gm rump and 400gm rump both medium rare. My wife's plate had food under the rim of the plate and was not medium rare. Mine was well done. So they took them away and started again. Gave us a complimentary garlic bread and a drink each. Which was fantastic. New meals came 25 minutes later. My steak was well done again and my wife's was cooked ok. Not sure how they can not cook a steak.

All eight meals that we ordered were huge and delicious. Perfect for lunch or dinner. Staff were so friendly and very professional. Wish it was in Brisbane so we could visit more often.

We loved this place. It had so much character. We shared a bathroom it was Saturday night but we didn't see another person. It was quiet even though it is a pub, The rooms were very clean & comfortable gorgeous little town with great coffee shops staff were so lovely & helpful. Lunch at the pub was great. I will definitely be going back there.

Its a great pub for where it is located in such a small town. Went there on Thursday and it was pizza night. I order a supreme and it was $18 it was massive and the base was nice too. Easily enough for a couple.

I stop here regularly when coming from the Gold Coast, the Hotel is great for a bite or a pizza and a drink as well. Beer garden and lots of room for lunch and dinner. When here over night, I prefer to come in the late afternoon, always worth a visit and never disappointed. Look at the newly renovated cottages as well, very very pretty and well done, flowers and gardens and inside as well.

First time visit, so impressed with the size and quality of the meals. Yes there was a bit of a wait to get all meals to our table group, but we all left full and happy. Great meeting place. And oh yes the bikes are amazing.
