Great location to have a few drinks & enjoy a top meal . The venue is huge & has two levels that include bars , tab area , the infamous VIP gaming lounge and a bistro that caters for a very diverse range as per the menu.
There is plenty of seating & the central ground floor open area is my particular favourite, very spacious with lofty ceilings and plenty of fresh air .
Definitely worth a visit .I can't fault the Hillside Hotel and being a local I can declare this venue stole the crown from the Tav at least 13 years ago for all the above mentioned reasons . Excellent ?

January 20th 2024 update : wow a bit dissatisfied with my visit .
I paid $50 for two Jack Daniels & coke and a chicken schnitzel takeaway meal last Saturday afternoon. Food was average & over priced , same with the drinks .
Atmosphere throughout the venue was low & numbers of patrons are way down on the better days . The guy at the bistro bar was like talking to a robot - emotionless & just doing his job . Female staff were far more hospitable & I doubt I'll be coming back in a hurry considering I live 400 metres away . I gave this venue a huge rap on my previous review & no doubt the rent must be quite excessive for this establishment but I felt ripped off .
And I didn't dare touch the pokies as a rule although they should offset prices of food & drinks from the probable high turnover of the [---] room .
Very disappointed ?? therefore my decreased rating to 3 realistic stars
Take heed & always be aware that all that glitters is not gold , especially when there are 2 couples eating or waiting for a meal at the prime time of late afternoon/evening . Most folks were probably at the RSL . Sad but true & that's my review .

The only reason the food was good is because we ate at Fire and Brimstone. The service was fantastic though from all staff.
The problem was that they advertise a DJ on Saturday nights, you would expect a dance floor, the lights turned down a little and pumping music. NO! The atmosphere was dead. We went to Bella Vista after dinner and the band saved the night!

Bloody good place that makes really good food and has loads of screens to watch sport.
Clean and well designed for space.
Staff are really friendly.
Amazing breakfast and coffees.

Wonderful experience here. When we arrived, we had wanted to participate in the trivia but couldn't find any available tables in the area, so a staff member went completely out of his way to put together a new table for us! The food here was fabulous - we got pasta and some pizzas, all of which were delicious. Very impressed with the quality, especially considering that they were only $18 each. The trivia with Simon was so much fun, and we will definitely be back (especially having won a $25 meal voucher from trivia ;)) Highly recommend!

Ordered the steak for dinner and asked for it to be medium rare - it was cooked medium rare. Very good. Chips were nice, and salad was well dressed, however the peppercorn sauce was a bit sour and didn't taste peppery at all.

Atmosphere was good in the 'secret lounge' on a Tuesday night.

Ambience is good and we spent almost 4 hrs . Drinks are good and the only thing i would see change is food beyond 9.30pm .
We were so engrossed with our catch up that we forgot to order food and by the time we remembered kitchen was closed . Pizza is open I'll 10pm

Good food, just took a while to come out and I was standing at the counter to order for 10 mins and the staff were just looking at me. No one told me that the register I was standing in front of wasn't operational and I had to line up in the other line which was annoying. Thanks guys

Haven't been here for a while however tonight's meal was a noticeable downgrade. Classic chicken schnitzel and half of it was inedible due to how dried it was. Tomatoes in the salad were furry and it took multiple attempts for the bar tender to make a lemon lime bitters which neither were drinkable and in the end I gave up and ordered a soft drink it. I rarely complain when I go out but this was incredibly disappointing.

Had a gathering for 14 people! My friend booked and we got a little area just to ourselves, undisturbed by other patrons.
We ordered an array of food from nachos, pizzas ?, fried chips and salad ???- to suit children and adult taste buds.
Lively atmosphere filled with other people chatting. Amenities are clean.

Hillside Hotel is a nice place to hang on a Sunday like today. The Fire & Brimstone trinity pizza is very delicious as well as the Uh Huh Honey cocktail. The stick date pudding for dessert brings it home for me. Really interesting stuff over there.

The service at the bistro bar was great, Marie (?) And another gentleman where great, remembered our drinks and were very friendly. I was super disappointed in my Southern fried chicken burger, the chicken was really dry and was missing batter/crunchiness from the entire top, there was not much sauce ( I did get more when I asked) but the 'slaw' was literally just chopped red cabbage. My friends enjoyed their pizza and steak though. Mostly points for bar service.

Ordered the 1/2 charcoal chicken and it was absolutely horrible. The chips were amazing mind you, but the chicken was as pink as a bottle of moscato. I would definitely not recommend unless you plan on getting a day off due to food poisoning.

An okay experience, weren't prepared for our booked arrival at 1330. Nice place, food decent. Would return if in the area.

Excellent service, some food and drink we had was average. Pasta ? pizza was nice, chicken caesar salad wasn't fresh and too much sauce, steak is tough and chewy was juice! And the pinacolada cocktail could be better.

$28.00 for this tiny (fit for a baby) poke bowl? I was gobsmacked, I even went back to the kitchen staff and said "are you sure this is the portion for 28 dollars?" and they just looked at me and said yes. Definitely not coming back here for food - not worth it.

We had an absolutely awesome night celebrating our sons 21st birthday in the Garden Terrace, at the Hillside Hotel. The food was really delicious and the staff were super attentive and accommodating. The girl that was our party host deserves a particular mention. She was really fantastic. She had a lovely manner and nothing was too difficult for her to sort out! Actually both her and the chef went above and beyond in serving us or attending to our needs. We had a perfect night really and although there were a couple of minor issues it was attended too promptly and graciously which we really appreciated. Highly recommend The fire and Brimstone Buffet - it was super yummy, and we all really enjoyed it. The cocktails were so good probably the best ive had so kudos to the girls who was making them. Dj was fantastic as well. All in all we were really happy with the event and the pleasant and flexible manner of the staff in responding to our needs meant all those things that werent right were sorted out and left us super happy! Thanks again. We will be back!

Pretty good. I've been here twice for food. They have those electronic beeping devices to tell you when your food is ready, which is really good cause you can sit down and relax while you wait. The place is clean and nicely decorated and neat. I've had the pesto pasta and also the pide. The pide was surprisingly good- it was well presented and also the serving was HUGE. The rocket and feta were nice additions, adding flavour and texture. Would come here again for a chill meal!

First visit to hillside hotel,we have lived in castle hill just more than a year and NOT SURE WHATS TAKEN US SO LONG. The hilly burger was possibly the best burger I have had, staff were really good, cocktails were good,the LIVE MUSIC was absolutely amazing. Nothing to fault. We will be back soon!

Stopped in while waiting for an appointment in towers, enjoyed a great lunch and glass of wine. haven't been here in years but was great to see how much its changed

Had no problems with security whilst I was there, excellent food with real chicken schnitzels and not the processed love heart ones. Had a little attitude from the young woman that served me at the bistro stating that they only had mushroom, pepper and gravy for sauce. Was a little disappointed to receive demi gaze as gravy. All in all, nice spot with some decent beer choices.

Great local pub. Happy hour is only on ground floor and don't expect staff to tell you that when you buy beer upstairs. They are really to charge you more rather than telling you to buy from downstairs. Aircon is boiling hot at ground floor indoor bar.

Gaming staff have favourites especially the one that has dark hair, if you reserve a machine which you had just played expect if a regular comes for staff to favourite them and let them play your machine.

Further more today currently waiting for over 20mins for a coffee l unacceptable especially when they had no customers and talking between staff X3.

Definitely do not recommend. As for the food you'll be highly disappointed.

I love attending this venue and specifically the live music bingo that Be Noble Entertainment provides! A group of us has been regularly attending this event and we can't wait to hear about the next one!

The food has improved here! Much better than what it used to be last year. Good price for member, make sure you sign up for membership before you order the food!

I worked here last weekend face painting the children at this lovely venue in the function room.
Great place to celebrate your event such as a birthday party or christening . I would definitely love to celebrate a party or a event here.

Pretty average attempt at pizzas here. Dough was obviously just a pre made frozen base... or least it presented and tasted like one... other than that, a good establishment with decent staff.

Super impressed! Went here to watch UFC 256 and the staff were all friendly; great atmosphere with a relaxed vibe. Loved the open roof for some natural light!Decided to have an alcohol free day and the lovely bartender made me some amazing mocktails, so I imagine the cocktails would be mind blowing. My boyfriend said were definitely coming back once he discovered the arcade games. Thanks Hillside!
