I am a member of RSL and have been coming to the Highett branch for some time with family and friends and we have always enjoyed our meals and the service until last Friday 5th July when I attended with my wife for lunch which was the most disappointing meal we have ever had at this establishment. Our roast pork was tasteless, no crackling, the potatoes were boiled not roasted and the vegetables hardly cooked and were rock hard. The serving size has been reduced and my wife's lemon lime and bitters was also tasteless.
A most disappointing lunch indeed.

Just paid $27 for a terrible Sunday roast. Processed turkey roll. One tiny potato (boiled) and pumpkin. All cold. Never again. A pity as it used to be good.

Very average food, not worth the price nor the wait (food took at least 45 minutes to come). I had the battered fish that tasted flavourless, the salad was old, and the chips were all hard. Won't be back.

A lovely surprise on entering. Very friendly staff and large areas with seating for meals or a chat. The interior decorating was very relaxing with plenty of greenery. A large display around the venue of past members with history and their medals. Very well done and highlights everyday people who have given service. The meals were delicious and plentiful, very quick service. A pleasure to take my mum and friend out for lunch.

I have been coming here for years. I love it. There is nothing like hearing stories having a meal and enjoying what the RSL has to offer.

The signing in process was swift, as long as you have your driver's licence with you and prepared to have it scanned. We met 7 others there and we had a large table. Service at the bar was prompt. Seniors menu available and orders came to table in reasonable time. Join the raffle for meat trays if you're feeling lucky. Sports bar has lots of TVs.

A very pleasant RSL tucked away just off the main Street in Highett.
All on one level with a bar, dining room, TAB and small pokies area.
Food is very good with an extensive seniors menu. Highly recommended for seniors.
Lots of regular locals dine here.
Service is with a smile and very friendly.
Definitely worth a visit.

Never been here before but friend playing gig here on Australia Day so went and wow what a great time! Joshua played 3.5 hours of Aussie hits and the crowd at Highett RSL loved him! So much so he was asked to extend his set. The venue has dining area, bar, pokies area and an area to follow the horse-racing. Now gambling isn't my thing but drinking Proseccos, eating salt n vinegar chips and listening to classic Aussie music is! Manager gave us membership forms and noticed membership gives you discounted drinks. Some parking behind venue or else in street. Great day. 27.8 here to see Joshua, play, he is so good. Enjoyed Proseccos.

We go to the RSL club every Friday night for dinner and the raffles, and on Saturday morning again for the meat tray raffles.
The dinners are tasty, affordable with specials and Senior meals. The menu is changed regularly and every meal I've eaten has been served quickly and is tasty.
We've made many friends there and we are very pleased to have somewhere to go that's familiar with friendly.

Fantastic food, we had the roast of the day & tofu fajitas - servings were humongous & tasty. Went on a Friday night & won in the raffle - bring cash if u want to buy tickets. Friendly service.

My first visit there. A warm welcome as we entered the club. Food was delicious and served in a timely manner. The atmosphere was perfect for sports minded people. Reservations recommended, although we were able to get a seat on the night we went there. I would go there again.

Different dining experience this one. On entry you sign in before being shown to your table. Our 6pm booking included standing for a minute's silence.
We had 12 people in our group and were easily accommodated - it's a decent sized dining space.
Service was ok. A bit slow, but friendly.
The food was not special. Of significance was the value for seniors. My Parma was comparable in size to the senior version yet I paid $12 more. (This explained the venue's demographic)
It was a popular, lively place. Bookings for dinner are recommended

Great place to spend a few hours in the evening. Good value , nicely presented meals. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere.

Even though it was ultra busy the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The food was good. The Chef was accommodating to a dietary need. The only downside was a bit noisy.

There is a comprehensive menu here - something to appeal to most people. I had the Curry of the Day and thoroughly enjoyed it, rice, chutney, side salad and a couple of pappadams. The bistro was quite busy but tables were available.

Well here is a place that will be very familiar to those who haven't been here before - assuming you've been to an RSL before. And that's its charm. No fuss, cheap, easy access, fulsome menu with all the regular artery clogging fare and that familiar din when the night reaches its normal climax around 7.30 pm. Chook raffles too! Could do with a better wine list but that would be a little out of character for this no frills but clean and happy neck of the woods.

Fantastic LIVE MUSIC VENUE and has some great coverbands, the tap beer is icy cold, the bar staff are very nice people honestly whoever employs them deserves a raise??'? the foods fantastic its been revamped and feels very warm and cosy its a great venue‼️🥃??'?⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great family venue. We had the garlic prawns which were absolutely delicious and the calamari, tender and scrumptious. Drinks at pub prices. Warm friendly and professional staff. A gem in the heart if Highett.

Most enjoyable meal in a cosy social environment.... great meals at a good price (cater for pensioner meals... very reasonably priced). Also enjoyed the Pokies there ( I won$70.00!!!!!!) Nice free coffee or hot chocolate etc.

Very nice RSL. Quite modern, with service memorabilia well laid out and displayed. Innovative use of the monitors introducing the RSL committee and ancillary information. Meals were quite good and a good wine list. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this establishment to my friends.

Had a meal there very good. Then sat in bar area, very comfortable and good place to chill and relax for a nice cold beer.

Meals came out to our table 20 minutes apart.$37 Rib Eye was supposed to be medium rare but came out as well done after a long wait. Asked for a coffee from the bar, went back to check 15min later and they had forgotten about it.Staff were friendly and provided a complimentary desert. Overall was disappointed.

Very friendly staff and my Senior meals were great and so reasonable priced.Have to book every day of the week because it is so popular.

Seriously just had a few friends for dinner. The girls Ava & Toni behind the bar were friendly approachable and a bloody good laugh. Will definitely be making plans to go again. Thanks
