Went there for my birthday dinner expecting an amazing meal and it was pretty average. It's Christmas and it should be buzzing and busy this time of year and it was empty. It only had one family eating and my partner and I, Two people at the bar. Really sad Really sad to see a place like that that could have so much potential and yet not busy at all like it should be especially this time of year.
There is nothing worse than trying to have a meal while they're spraying the tables while we are eating.

I have been a patron of the Hagen Arms hotel for 53 years 6.15pm tonight my wife and I stopped to have one drink walked in we were told we are about to close there we\'re about 6people still in the bar website says Hagen Arms is open to 8.00pm.
This is second happening for us.You are in the hospitality industry as far as that goes you are the bottom of the barrel. I have wondered why the locals go to the football club now l know why.

Oh dear, looked so promising on arrival for dinner on 15 March 2025. Lovely old building, tastefully decorated but it took service staff an hour to take the food order. We weren\'t offered any more drinks and when we had to venture up to the bar to ask for desserts, as no one bothered to ask if we wanted any, we were told the kitchen had closed. \"Apologies, we were having kitchen problems, Wifi not working, kitchen closed early\". What were they doing? Looking up the internet on how to cook? Sadly, incredibly poor service, Poor menu choice for vegetarians. Seemed like staff had no care factor. Female staff member half cleared the table and then did not return. Needs some older staff in there to ensure good service. First time visit. Not sure we\'d go back.

Food was fantastic, especially the lamb shoulder. We had a great spot in front of a roaring fireplace. Our only slight criticism is the kitchen closed at 8pm after we booked for 7pm. We were asked if we wanted a dessert before we'd finished our mains, which made us feel a bit rushed.
Can't fault the food though.
