Hagen Arms was recommended to us for great food. I was surprised as I've driven past many times and never considered it. The inside is beautiful, the rooms aside from the main bar area were a bit dark and cool for me but were popular with other diners so it's personal preference I guess. We sat in the main bar area and had 4 adult meals and one kiddy burger that was huge! The food was absolutely delicious, we each had a different meal and whilst hubby said his schnitty was just "ok" the rest of us LOVED our meals. We had the fish, gnocchi and steak off the posher menu, and the schnitty off the standard one. Drinks were good and service was on point. We'll definitely head back next time we're in the hills.

Food was fantastic, especially the lamb shoulder. We had a great spot in front of a roaring fireplace. Our only slight criticism is the kitchen closed at 8pm after we booked for 7pm. We were asked if we wanted a dessert before we'd finished our mains, which made us feel a bit rushed.
Can't fault the food though.

One of the absolute gems in the Adelaide Hills. Definitely worth a visit after a day out. The fireplace cracks along in winter and there's a great selection of local wines. The chicken parmi was superb! I'll be coming back again soon!

Amazing staff and amazing food. The legend running around between the front bar, the kitchen and making sure we had plenty of drinks, was amazing. 1000% recommend popping in for a meal with family and friends.

Did not have the best experience tonight. Not only was it uncomfortable for me to express my allergen requirement but they were unaccommodating giving me extra salad and no other side option then the drink i had asked for was wrong didn't know till I got back to my air bnb had takeaway then the price......more than in the city. The only thing great was the young lady serving she was great, will never go back, and will let others know of better options.

Went for lunch. The old hotel has been done up beautifully. The food and service was amazing. The staff went out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions/allergies. I can't comment on the rooms or even if they have any. The toilets involve stairs, so if you have mobility issues this will be a problem but there may be other toilets or access points available. Best to check before booking. Ample parking across the road. I'm looking forward to returning.
