Our food took over an hour to arrive. Schnitzel overcooked and had to cut through with a steak knife.

Called in for a pub meal and had a a really good experience. The food was good, hot, came in a timely manner. I had the pasture fed Scotch fillet and it was cooked as ordered and the chips were great. My dining companion had the prawn curry which was very nice as well. Not a cheap pub meal with a bottle of wine as well but quality and a very pleasant experience.

We visited the Grovesnor last night for steak night which was quite different to my previous experience in the dining room area which is currently being renovated. The section we were seated in was more sports bar and has a lot more of a casual feel to it. Regardless the steak at $25 was decent enough and it's bar service which was convenient for our large group

Went for lunch . We had beef pie and a Caesar Salad with chicken. Salad was really good with good flavor chicken and not dry. Ready of the Caesar was very good. The beef pie was OK, but wouldn't order it again.
Laid back atmosphere.

I dined at the Grosvenor Hotel last night for $25 Tuesday Steak Night. What an absolute disaster. My Porterhouse resembled a minute steak at approx 100grams accompanied by three grilled cos lettuce leaves and half a plate of fries. Don't waste $25 on a $12 meal.

Staff Xmas function Dec 2022, super easy to organise through Kaitlin, food and service excellent.
Only minus: spotlights over dance floor not working but the room upstairs was perfect and everyone commented on the quality of the food.

We held a birthday party in the downstairs function room and couldn't be any happier with the function organisation by the function manager as well as the helpfulness, friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The food we ordered for the party was also delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel for functions or even for meals.

Nice restaurant. Good looking spaces. The staff were friendly. Ordered a parma and fish of the day - Barramundi with a salad.
Barramundi meal was very very delicious but the serving of fish was quite small. Parma was a decent size but wasn't anything special. Especially for what they charge. Drinks are expensive. Glass of Shiraz and a pint of draught was $27. The shiraz was $14 or if you wanted to upgrade to large size is was $21!!!! Might have been a nice drop but I have a feeling the bottle of Shiraz must have been opened for a few days because it was on the vinegary side. Really nice establishment and great menu but not somewhere I would visit frequently.

Extremely poor service, had to visit the kitchen to get served after waiting for 10 minutes.... Furthermore getting served and eating her meal before we got served our meals after the initial terrible service...
Then the staff member was on the phone on personal phone calls rather than focusing on serving the correct beers to us.
P.S her attitude was very poor especially when she stuffed up my mates order...
On a positive note, the kitchen staff member that assisted me was very prompt and polite in getting someone to serve us....
Definitely need some better waiting staff.... 😳??'?

We visited on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the Tuesday $25 steak deal. Interestingly, there was no sign or mention of this special. If you didn't know about it beforehand, it wasn't offered to you at all. I suggest you look ahead to see which specials they have on, for example Thursday nights are $15 pizza nights.
The three of us ordered our steaks, two medium rare and one medium. They come with a side salad and chips, and a small jug of pepper sauce. Although there are a number of sauces available on the menu, for the steak special you are limited to pepper sauce only. Fair enough but to be honest it wasn't a great pepper sauce. I don't often order pepper sauce (I far prefer mushroom or garlic sauce) but this one was quite harsh, and tasted more like white pepper than black or green peppercorn. It failed the chip-dip test (how does it taste on a chip dipped into it). It just really wasn't a great pepper sauce.
The salad was ok but I found mine to be a bit gritty, like it hadn't been washed properly. It was generously dressed with a vinegarette, maybe even a little too generously.
The steaks were well cooked. Mine looked slightly past medium rare but it was as soft as butter and delicious so I didn't mind at all. My wife complained that hers was very salty. She doesn't like a lot of salt so I tasted it to check and it was quite over seasoned. Even I thought it was a touch too salty, and I add salt to just about everything I eat.
Overall it was a pleasant meal but let down by a few small, easy-to-fix issues. It probably deserves 3.5 stars but Google doesn't do half stars...

Third time here at the Grosvenor hotel, has been different food experience each time. All pretty good.
This was our last visit. Layout of the venue is well presented, open bar with spot for band at one end and restaurant at the other. Had lady playing solo Acoustic this night. Décor is still pretty decent.

Entrée tonight was four good size pieces of the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, (See pic), We quickly eat two... These came out fire hot, were cooked to perfection, chicken was tender, with beautiful crumbs on the outside. Very decent sizes and could be shared by four people as a quick bite.

Mains were Parma and Fish and Chips.
Parma was what I consider stock Aussie Pub standard (still very good). Shoe String fries were spot on and the salad, been salad had a nice dressing that completed the meal.

Fish and Chips were good, Fish was presented different and taste was on point. Same as Parma, Fries and Salad were very good.

Drinks . Beer is what it is, Lemon Lime and Bitter was a med size - good
taste.
Service was quick and pleasant without been over the top.
Good night out overall.

Food and venue is awesome but the staff were not wearing masks.

I asked about it and the member of staff informed me that the management have told the staff that they are not allowed to wear masks which is against the covid safe guidelines.

We won't go back to this venue as ultimately we felt the management didn't care about keeping customers safe.

We have been going to the Grosvenor Hotel for the past nine years every second week. It appears they may have changed the menu on a Wednesday and Thursday night. No longer a special steak or parma night. We ordered the Southern Ranges Eye Fillet for $55.00.
The steak would be bordering on 200gram no more. One piece of cos lettuce and a small bowl of fries two share between three of us. Not exactly a main meal, more like an entree.
We ordered an additional two pizzas to satisfy our hunger.
Please bring back the old menu and previous steak. That came with a generous steak, a salad, and fat chips for one. Not to share with three people.

Steaks are next level amazing!

Everything else on the menu that we tried was great.

Nice vibrant atmosphere yet well-spaced so you can still hear each other talking!

Had dinner here the other night and the food was great but just a shame the service didn't match. I understand it is hard to find people these days but we had issue after issue with the service. From not being able to pour a bottle of wine, bringing out all the meals at different times, not listening to simple requests, telling us to hurry up and leave when we were trying to get their attention to pay for over 15min.

A little bit of training will go a long way when you are paying $40+ for a steak

We used to live in Elwood and come regularly and always loved our experience. We havent been back in a while as we now live a few suburbs away, Im also a vegetarian so at first was slightly hesitant but our meals were so so yummy! We also had great friendly service from the beautiful Mel. In these post lock down times many places seem to have forgotten what brings patrons in and keeps them but the Grosvenor isnt one of them! A great menu to please many tastes and a nice atmosphere and service to mat h! Well be back again for sure.

Summary: 4.6. We had a superb time here. The bistro is terrific, the new menu great and the food fabulous. The dishes are well presented using excellent produce that is skillfully cooked. It's a good wine list as well.

Review:
This is a large multi faceted venue on Brighton Rd. It offers a lot of options - pub, bistro, restaurant, bottle shop, burgers, etc. There's heaps going on and it works. I know the immediate area well and this is a great dining option and well worth travelling to. We went for lunch today in the bistro out the back. The area is lovely and light even on a sultry grey day like today just before the heavens opened. u

We started with pre lunch drinks. I had a Negroni and my partner an Aperol spritz. Both were excellent. They were well made and up there with the best.

We started our meal with the tasting plate. This is a gorgeous offering. Just a beautiful selection of antipasto which we loved. First, you get fantastic plain wood fired pizza topped with rosemary. While this is delicious on its own the plate includes mortadella, prosciutto, two types of salami, caperberries, a selection of small olives, cornichons, aged parmigiana reggio and mozzarella. Every one of these components was absolutely as fresh as a daisy and thrillingly flavoursome. The dish reminded us of similar dishes we'd had in Italy. The one here at the Grosvenor compares excellently. To us it was best practice. It's everything a charcuterie board should be.

I had the lamb shoulder for main. This too is a wonderful dish. The lamb is beautiful, moist and succulent. There are excellent greens with this dish as well. The char grilled broccolini is particularly arresting. It's a super dish for sure. The world's most beautiful woman had the pork belly. This was exactly as described. Absolutely delicious and tender. The crackling was nothing short of magnificent. We chose one accompanying side dish. Roasted cauliflower with ancient grains and almonds. This too was great. Both mains and the salad were attractive and a very good size.

We were a little taken aback at the high quality of the food at the Grosvenor despite the previous laudatory reviews we'd seen. This is seriously beautiful food they offer here. Excellent produce, superbly cooked and presented with outstanding flavours and textures. They are good sized meals too as mentioned and represent very good value for money. Add a very good wine list - I had a glass of Malbec and my partner a local Pinot Gris - and you've got a terrific place.

We couldn't fit dessert in sadly. We'll rectify that on our next visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and would return anytime.

Our sincere thanks to the venue for the kind invitation to dine here.

Wheelchair accessible, great service, high quality food and a great wine and beer selection. Their chips are perfect; a rarity in Melbourne.
The vibe is a good mix of hipster and family friendly and the value is excellent for the area. The sports fans area is partitioned off so you can have a peaceful dinner/date without being disturbed by the flickering glare of large screens. They do wood fired pizzas as well but it's the pub food that'll have you coming back for more. Clean, the music's not too loud and the house selection of beers and wines is great for a casual night out.
Beers on tap documented in the last photo.
