Do not order the mix grill. They should call it the mini grill. Very Small steak. Very Small sausage very very small rissole small piece of chicken The biggest thing on the planet was the egg The chips were nice but $35 for chips
Very disappointing

Sunday night dinner, I ordered a mixed grill and not what I expected, rissole the size of a wall nut,piece of chicken couldn't have been dryer, piece of steak dry and horrible, Chipotle sausage only thing cooked correctly every thing else tasted precooked, I'm local and will be eating elsewhere next time.

Poor signage to help navigate new customers of the venues areas. Cleanliness of bathrooms was lacking. The manager on duty was eating dinner in the TAB/Main bar area whilst the few patrons they had were waiting for drinks. Bar staff dissuaded us from ordering food. Very limited draught beer selection. I could go on but I won't. Disappointing....

I would give the hotel a miss went there for dinner ordered 2 Thai salads one with prawns one with calamari the size of the servings were very very small . I got 4 small prawns my husband got 4 frozen calamari which cost us $59 the table beside us also ordered the same salad but it was twice the size of ours the other table were locals I would say don't waste your time eat somewhere else

We had a off-road buggy race near Portland and we wanted to go into Portland to have tea and support the local town
We saw the Gordan pub was open and it looked very nice along the esplanade
There was 4 of us and we walked in and were very kindly greeted . We were shown to our table and we ordered a few drinks while we decided what we wanted off the great pub menu . We all ordered and the meals were so quick to come out and the meals were absolutely delicious. Everything in the bistro was clean and tidy and had a great atmosphere. It was definitely a great experience and when in Portland , I'll be going back to the gordan pub again

New owners having some teething problems but food is good. Large beef schnitzels, tasty salmon fillet with garlic prawns, yummy chips.

The family went to the Gordon for a meal and we were not disappointed.
Reasonably priced and something for everyone including the kids. The highlight was the chicken mushroom risotto.
A nice place to pop in for a meal if you are staying a few days in the region.

Worst meal I have ever had. I ordered the seafood platter it was over cooked frozen when I returned it the only thing the staff could say was ok I will tell the chef . No refund no sorry nothing.

To the waitress who served our lunch today on table 20 and told us that gravy didn't come with the schnitzel we ordered. It did! and you could've easily checked the menu as it was written on there. Just remember the customer is always right and good service goes a long way, while bad service is always remembered.

Been here for a lunch on a weekend. Food was nice, especially the Risotto was marvellous. We also tried the sweet potato wedges and fish n chips which was pretty nice too. The Thai noodle salad was quite cold, but was nice n gently spicy which all of us enjoyed much. The seating n ambience was nice n cozy and great location near to Portland town centre.

With a group of friends. Prompt service and friendly staff. Most meals were good. The Chicken Kiev was a little over done and tough. Waiter took my advice on board and did not try to dismiss my comment.

Fantastic food and excellent service. We didn't have a booking on a very busy night over Easter. We were still made to feel welcomed and they still managed to fit us in. Thanks guys we loved it

Had an amazing southern fried chicken burger for lunch here. Piping hot. Stuffed full of ingredients. Sauces so tasty. Faultless presentation. Chips light, crispy and piping hot. I could not fault this burger in any way. Staff were exceptionally kind to me. Venue beautifully clean. Thank you.

Meals were barely warm and when we told staff they said they felt them and they were warm and not too bad being just warm. Yes we got a refund eventually but they had no manager on so I rang the black rhino corporate office to give them feedback and the staff at the Gordon were not happy I rang. If the staff won't handle when issues arise then it has to go to higher management. Also prices are high for what you get $41 for a porterhouse steak

Great evening with the family. Very popular over the long weekend. Nice menue and very tasty food.We reserved a table as there were many many people wanting a little bit of country style hospitality. Nice refreshing drinks we had with our meal. We will be back..

Disappointing experience - lunchtime meal. The chicken schnitzel was standard pub size. However, the mushroom sauce was an indescribable mass of thick liquid with 2-3 very small slices of thin mushroom - definitely did not enhance the presentation of the schnitzel.
One of our party returned a meal due to its poor quality. Initially this return was met with a response that just because a customer did not like the meal it would not be replaced or refunded. There was definitely no sense of "the customer might be right" about the quality of the meal. Eventually the cost of the meal was refunded. However, there was no sense of accommodating the customer or graciousness throughout the exchange.
My meal, plus the staff approach to the customer would not encourage one to return too soon.

The pub is clean, uncrowded and well lit, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The tables are organised with room to move between them when guests are seated, which is important for anyone with mobility or access issues.
Our meals took a fair while to come out, even though the pub was not busy at the time and the lunch crowd had not yet arrived when we ordered.

Two of our group said their meals were great. They ordered the beef burger and really enjoyed their lunch.

The other person in our group and I both ordered the chicken parmigiana which was very nice and well-presented. The staff were quite happy to substitute bacon for ham in my parmi without question, demonstrating a great attitude toward customer preferences and/or sensitivities.

The sweet potato fries were excellent -
crispy and perfectly cooked.

However, the salad leaves looked and tasted as though they were at their freshest at some point during last week. Other than my one initial 'poke and chop' test to determine whether its appearance belied its quality - it did not - i did not touch the salad.

Ordered a seafood plater and came out cold returned my order and they made another seafood plater was just a little better than the first one.

They did offer me apology and a free ☕️ coffee

I had a parmy salad and chips the chips where dried up oily and cold and there was lucky to be 8 chips on the plate, and there so called salad was lucky to be a table spoon of chopped up cabbage, which to me is not a salad!! and not even any dressing !!! to me a salad is normally a bit off tomato, onion, cucumber and lettuce and some dressing !!! and the schnitzel was cold and lucky to be the size of half a hand and as for the sauce I couldn't find it. I asked to see the manager which wasn't happy about me being upset about my meal then snatched the plate of the table and said i will give your money back. I have no problem paying for a meal but but when a parmy is $26 and cold dried up and oily it's not good enough and if you want to do cost cutting on meals that's fine but justify the price for the meal

The best garlic & cheese bread and the best lamb rogan josh I've had in my life. The chef here is unbelievable. Wasn't planning on coming back tomorrow but now I am. Barman was great also.

Attended a private function on the balcony overlooking the harbour on a Friday night. Great staff, plenty of nibbles, craft beers and music. Happy days!

Good service, great food, terrible atmosphere.

I know it's a pub, but could do with less bright fluorescent lighting for dinner and dim them a little. Server didn't understand at all when I asked for no parmesan cheese on top which I thought was a pretty basic alteration, but at least he followed through on the order.

We got the special which was Korean pork belly and kimchi on rice - surprisingly delicious for a pub meal. Then got their chorizo risotto which was okay - way too salty, but my partner liked it.

We visited the establishment recently and we were greeted with poor customer service by the older lady with short grey hair behind the bar she seemed to have a vendetta against us the moment we arrived. She was extremely rude and didn't give us the correct drink we ordered, when we stated that she replied with "well it's the same thing" even though it's not what we asked for. The customer service from the lady described could use a Major improvement.

The food side of our experience was fantastic and we can't fault it, the meals were brought out in a timely manner and they were delicious and hot, and fresh.

Last time I went there for a meal it wasnt great, however on this occasion it was fantastic! How so much has changed from about 12 months ago, the food was amazing.

1 Burnt classic parma,
1 burnt chicken snitzal
2 x flat head was joined in the batter with made the batter to thick.
Chips were nice.

Very pleasant indeed. Workers club look about it however the staff were very good and the menu had some interesting options as well as five hundred ways to cook a parma. Try the lamb Regan Josh.

Great T bone, cooked to perfection and the mushroom sauce was superb

Food was unique and tasty. Service was prompt and polite. The view was also great too! We were also able to have our dogs at the tables out the front.

Service was good, the staff actually smiled. The Food was really good!! Reasonable price for a large serve. Very happy.

Great service, great drinks but $60 for overcooked ribeye on the bone that was a couple of days past being good was a bit rich. Now it was on the specials board so I should have been wary but I thought why not. Everyone else who didn't eat the steaks was very happy with their meals.

Great & well presented food. Pork belly. Gnocchi & Porterhouse steak were amazing. Compliments to the chef. Young staff were professional with service. Well done Gordon Hotel. We'll be back.

So the poor staff were a busy..
The meals were great, the garlic and cheese bread entree was nice and the Gordon parma was nice and my wife said the sea food selection was nice, loved the dohnuts for dessert, prices are about what you would expect for a place like this.
Overall a great dining out experience..
Would go back again, highly recommended.

Gee, whoever painted the place did a wonderful job ha ha. Good service, brilliant food, wonderful selection of beers and wines alike, top tier feed in the city of Portland.

Usual pub meals, which were tasty and served in a timely manner. Good choice of drinks at the bar, including multiple wines by the glass. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a dinner visit if you are in Portland.
