Amazing business, I was passing through right in closing time. They stayed open to help a traveler out and it turned out to be the best Indian I have ever had. Can't suggest this place enough! Whether you are a local or a tourist this place is a must!

Great Regional Pub! Some tired furniture and paint but adds to the charm of the venue. Great food although took some time to come out. No cider on tap but does have bottled option.

The food was delicious, wait time wasn't long at all. The staff are friendly and felt like family. Definitely recommend going here. My children participated in the Music Varingo and it was an awesome experience. Won all the rounds. If your thinking of taking your family to a decent place, this pub will always be my personal first choice. Definitely will be coming back more into the future.

Nice Tavern in Nambucca Heads. Food very professionally cooked and presented. We had the Duck spring rolls. Hubby had the T-bone steak, cooked medium/rare as he likes it. Whiting fillets were crispy and they do gluten free as well. The mains came with chips and the salad on the side was a good mix, not just a few green leaves strategically placed on the plate!!

Staff were brilliant; bar staff member was knowledgeable in her wines & could make great recommendations. We sat by the kitchen and were able to watch the chefs cooking which was fantastic; they seemed so professional and respectful to one another, and they were so lovely when we collected our meals. The food was divine; prawns and squid were perfection and so delicately cooked. I loved the two different salads they were served with. The ribs fell apart as I picked up each bone; so tender and flavoursome. The steaks were cooked exactly to order; this chef definitely knows steak!!! Would have loved a kids area but I know they can be hard to manage and maintain. All in all we could not have asked for a better night tonight ??

Just a modernised small town pub. Not a lot of atmosphere. But I must admit to a bias, I love the older country pubs (like several in the Hunter and all round the country). And I hate the pokies. We did not eat so I cannot comment on that.

Staff were all so friendly, service was on point and the food was exceptionally delicious... every single dish we had on the table was so yummy we wish we weren't transiting through so we could eat here more often!

Came here for a couple drinks. Amazing friendly staff that make you feel welcome as I came in. Amazing environment! Free pool, free wifi. Cheap drinks. Overall very relaxed atmosphere!

A great pub. A large selection of beers on tap. Very friendly staff . Modern, clean comfortable interior. The food was AWESOME. We were there on a Wednesday night, steak night. My goodness, my husband had the steak, the best quality, cooked to perfection. And $ 23. Sooo good. I had the fish and chips. I was very happy with my choice too. Cooked in a very light batter, excellent. Congratulations guys, loved it.

Waited over an hour for an overpriced and VERY mediocre meal. Food was either served cold, stale or wilted. Easily the worst dining experience I've ever had, definitely would not recommend.

The single worst pub feed iv had in my life. Garlic bread apparently is just bread a peice of roasted garlic slapped in the middle... cold, no butter and nine bloody dollars

Awesome place to enjoy cold beers great food with a friendly atmosphere. The staff were amazing, polite, helpful and always smiling. Definitely worth a visit but give yourself longer than you plan because it's a place your not want to leave..your comeback for sure as I will. Thanks Golden Sands made a short trip more worth it...outstanding and the bar ladies keep smiling

Food is good for the reasonable prices. Oysters were passable, a little small and could have been colder.
They were obviously understaffed as we waitied 45-50 mins for our food. Was told no seafood pie and there was no feta in the roasted vege salad.
Service at the bar was very freindly.

Not normally one who particularly enjoys a pub, bistro or tavern, but the food here is worth tasting (and reviewing). The tavern's decor gives away no hints of its kitchen mastery. Tastefully presented, the fish risotto and salmon dishes here were truly delicious. Highly recommend!

Noisy.
Lemon butter pan fried fish not very nice. Placed on top of chips - made chips soggy.

The chilli garlic prawns were awesome.
Shame the coffee machine was out of action it would have been nice to finish the meal with a coffee.

I got the $18 Wednesday night special ( prime rump with veg & mushroom gravy) and my partner had the flat head, chips and salad.

We waited a little bit but the wait was worth it, the food was absolutely amazing. The lovely ladies in the kitchen were working very very hard the entire time and with the biggest smile.

The entire staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.

We go out for dinner in Sydney a lot and to some pretty nice places, but I have to say It is the best meal I've had in a very long time!

I can see how much effort and pride they put into their work. If we are up Nambucca ways again we will definitely be paying the sands a visit!

Wow thank you to the bar staff for their friendly and efficient service. This goes a long way when visiting the area. I would also highly recommend the amazing food, presentation and delivery and friendly banter with our meals

Amazing service from lovely staff, great atmosphere on the the easy-to-find Main Street. Dinner was extremely quick and absolutely delicious, wide variety of drinks and music that you can request yourself. The $6 pints go down like a treat.

During lockdown the owners refurbished this Pub. It follows strict Covid rules and is nicely a appointed. The meal was delicious and reasonably priced. There is a new Chef there since we last visited and the the menu is so much better. The owner when I there is the perfect host, greeting patrons. A relaxing and enjoyable meal in peaceful surrounds. Well done Golden Sands in the heart of Nambucca Bowra St shopping area. Nice dress shops nearby ladies well worth a browse.
