Chinese Restaurant in Gilgandra.
If I hadn't been told about this place by word-of-mouth I would not have known it was there, as it didn't come up in any searches for restaurants, or even Chinese restaurants, in Gilgandra.
Admittedly I did not expect much because it was at a country town bowls club, but I was completely shown up for that wrong assumption - in the best way!
I had a Mongolian Lamb and steamed rice. The lamb came out sizzling on a hot plate and smelled amazing. It had a good serve of veg mixed through, too.
It was all absolutely delicious well beyond my expectations. The veg was obviously fresh and the rice was cooked perfectly (yes - rice can be badly cooked!). This food is the real deal and I'm so grateful for the recommendation and very happy to pass it on.... and hoping 'Chinese Restaurant in Gilgandra' will come up in online searches.

Free camp for the caravan. Very friendly club members. Great Chinese restaurant meal.

Went for a meal 19th August 2023 on the reviews of this site, meals were nice but definitely not generous.

Chinese is pretty good, fried rice is the only average tasting thing on menu. Shorts soups are delicious.

This place has never ever disappointed us. The best Chinese we have ever tasted!!!!! We stay in Gilgandra every year and have a meal from this restaurant every time. Absolutely ??'? amazing!!!!!!! The food is fresh, more than plentiful, and bloody delicious!!!!
What else can I say.....it is amazing. If I could give it a 10 I would. Never ever change a thing.

Went there for tea. The chinese food that was served was excellent, and the beers were cold.

Great spot to stop over and park the van for the night... lots of room to move and easy access to Sporties and Highway... More pubs and clubs should do this for travellers... Always support the club by drinking and eating in.

Great little club I enjoy lunch on a Sunday with a beer great company too. Recommend a visit. On the highway on way into Gilgandra see you there.

No facilities but a great stay.Lovely chinese meals great staff in bar.

Food is fresh and cooked to Chinese perfection, love this place and camp here every time we pass through. Lunch specials available Wednesday to Sunday 12pm to 2pm and dinner 5pm till 9pm.

The Chinese restaurant is to die for. We have eaten there three times now, and every time the food was brilliantly prepared and delicious. Will eat there every time we are in Gilgandra. Highly recommended

We pulled up in van late afternoon and went for an early dinner at the bowling club. The Chinese was beautiful.
Definetly recommend it as a stop to camp and have drinks and dinner.

Free camp for the night in the car park. Went in for a nice Chinese meal and a couple cold beers. Definitely recommend stopping in.

Sports Club great friendly members Staff Chinese restaurant at the Club was excellent have put it on my return list.

Great little club. Camped in our caravan in their car park overnight. Nice cold beer and a great Chinese meal. Bbq available for use and a playground for the kids. Will definitely be back on our next trip

Lovely staff in the club, club open to visitors, friendly locals. Great place for self contained RV camping. Attractive surrounds.

The Chinese restaurant meals are simply the best and prices are good. We have stayed here more than once and will be returning next year. Without doubt this is the best place to stay in Gilgandra. Drinking water and flush toilets are across the road and more drinking water is available at the dump point in town. A great town and always welcoming.

Sporties Gilgandra is lively and bubbly. went there for a birthday dinner. I have never tasted fried Ice cream. found the concept of frying an ice cream both funny and fascinating. We ordered the beef in black beans sauce, duck sweet and sour, prawn sauce and fried rice. It was a table of 7. The meal was delicious, the atmosphere is nice and bubbly. It was the height of enjoyment for me cause Gil is a quiet place. The service was wonderful. loved it. will definitely do it again when next I'm in Gilgandra.
