This was a family go to for many years, boasting good service, excellent value for money and a genuinely warm and respectful environment that honoured the legacy of our soldiers. That said, sadly... times have changed since those days. The service is still quite good, but the meals are overpriced and I really can't share anything positive about the quality either. Either over- or under-cooked, too oily or too dry, lack of seasoning and lack-lustred presentation. Honestly, if they still boasted affordable prices this might be overlooked. But that's definitely not the case. The venue used to have a "no collar, no entry" and "neat respectful casual dress" code. Not any more. Patrons wearing torn jeans, t-shirts, even torn denim miniskirts were on show (for 60+ patrons to view, whether they want to or not). The place was incredibly noisy to the point that people couldn't hear each other while sitting on the other side of the table. These are very different times... sighs. If you're a drinker, a gambler, happy to part with at least for a very average meal, in a very loud open restaurant space accompanied by poorly dressed patrons contrary to the true values and tenants of the RSL... then knock yourself out.
