We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebration for my dad's 90th birthday in the private room at Forester's Arms over the weekend. I could not speak highly enough of the attention to detail, communication and professionalism prior to the event and particularly on the day by Logan and the team. Logan went over and above to ensure our day was very special. Everything including balloons were already set up for us on arrival. Food was plentiful and great.

This venue used to have a great atmosphere before it was renovated. It had a relaxing beer garden where you could play Keno and watch footy, lovely wooden seating and tables, and a pub menu that was varied and you knew was quality.

Now the menu is over priced, with few options that are worth ordering and there's no beer garden to sit in and relax with a beer. If you want to sit with a beer and watch a game, you'll be sitting inside with those who want a meal.

There's an entrance to the men's toilet in the gaming room that stinks of urine. This smell does not go away, added to this is the overpowering smell of air freshener, it's absolutely sickening.

The staff are also not knowledgeable and inconsistent with their information.... Where's the training? I have asked three different staff members the same question, and received three different answers! This includes management. The staff have absolutely no clue about what the venue's membership offers, ask some of the young guys a question and they act like a deer in headlights.

A group of us hired the function room at Castellos Foresters Arms Hotel. I ordered the chicken parma with peppercorn sauce, which was tasty. Thank you for the delicious food and great service.

Casual dinning venue with bar and pokie machines, located close to Chadstone shopping centre. Staff are helpful and their is a function room available for large groups.
I have noticed that the senior meal has shrunk considerably over the last few years- I might have eaten Melbourne's smallest Parma. Even accompanying salad was only a few leaves

Went here for dinner last night with a few friends.
I am vegetarian and my daughter is gluten free, so when we went to order I had a few questions. The person who took the orders had no idea about any of the food. I asked what the 'vegetarian schnitzel burger' was actually made of. He said he thought it was vegetables, but wasn't sure. I asked to speak to the chef, who then proceeded to try and have a conversation with me from the back of the kitchen. I stated that I couldn't hear her so she got someone else to come and talk to me, who was very helpful and showed me the ingredients of the burger.
I then ordered the vegetarian tacos, and he said "theyre not vegetarian they have meat in them", and I said that they were called "vegetarian tacos" and he said "oh".
I then asked if there were any gluten free options such as pasta, or burger buns, and he said that all the pasta was gluten free. This is unusual so we asked him to check with the chef, and he came back and said that actually no the pasta isn't gluten free, except for the chicken scallopini which has gluten free pasta. I looked on the menu and said to him that that dish doesn't have pasta, and he said yes it does, and I read out the ingredients to him, which had no pasta, and he said "oh".
I was very surprised that the person taking orders had absolutely no idea about any of the food on the menu! Such a difficult process to order our meals!
100% will never be going back here again!

Staff were openly dropping plates, throwing trays and laughing about it. Food was also not great although I thoroughly enjoyed the arancini. Don't come here for a meal. But a good place to grab a quick drink and watch the footy

As l walked in l thought it felt warm and friendly and relaxed. As it being FATHERS DAY l thought it would be packed but we got a table easily enough mind you it was only 12-15pm but by the time we were leaving it was really starting to fill up. My hubby daughter enjoyed their meals and l enjoyed mine although I didn't really have a meal per say (bowl of wedges, sweet chilli sce and sour cream but even that was nice. Will certainly be going back soon.

3 of us go monthly for dinner on a weeknight. Food is consistently good, service is friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is quiet, which is great for talking. 10% seniors' discount is nice. Easy parking.

From all accounts the family enjoyed the burgers they had. The steak was probably one of the worst I've had in recent memory and not worth the $44 and pretty sure not 300g. As much as the menu bragged marbling, it was thin and poorly cooked. Garlic butter was a few frozen cubes and a small lame salad to accompany. The chips were delicious. Atmosphere of typical pokies joint that has no seperation from the eating area, so not that kid friendly. Beer was fresh and delicious.

So great place to watch the game as the snacks menu looks awesome, maybe just avoid the steaks.

A gem in the suburbs. Great menu and always a good variety of weekly specials. We've tried most of the menu and are yet to be disappointed. Recent addition of sharing platters are great for 2-3 people.

Here for Sunday dinner. Just made it for happy hour 😄. We've been here a few times. Place was empty except for 2 droning drunks. A manager, I presume, with green hair stuck us next to these two. When I asked to be moved, we were stuck next to the toilets (everything else booked ?) Food (linguine, roast lamb, seafood stew) all well received. Staff very good. The experience of coming up against this man means we won't be back. Pity, but there better places locally. Try the Clayton Hotel on a Sunday night

Went for Valentine's Day dinner celebrating at the place we had our first date 48 years ago. Went with some trepidation after reading reviews but any fears were soon allayed by the friendliness of staff and the high quality of our (seniors') pub meals. Consequently we stayed much longer than we expected. A most enjoyable evening.

Thoroughly enjoyable first time visit. Ordered a roast of the day and a pint to go with it. Arrived a little after 5, ordered the meal and within 10 minutes food on the table. Perfect and very good food as well

Staff are friendly, meal sizes are huge, oh my gosh get the garlic bread and scotch fillet! Perfect meat and garlic heaven!

We were treated appallingly by bar staff and manager. Richard the manager was so disrespectful and didn't want to hear any complaint I had to make about one particular young female staff member. She was rude and confronting as soon as we walked in. He said without listening to anything I had to say. We need to leave. Never been treated so badly in any establishment

Ordered the porterhouse steak cooked rare, and was not disappointed. Vege and mashed accompanied the steak with peppercorn sauce. Topped with a glass of Shiraz, a great meal out.

The interior was beautiful! Very modern and sleek inside, although the atmosphere was a bit of a let down.

For a Sunday lunch, I expected more of an atmosphere, for it to be busy and bustling, but it was super quiet. I had a small group of friends to celebrate my birthday, and it was average to say the least. I ordered the roast lamb, and it was a little chewy and not warm. My partner ordered the steak, and the steak was a generous serving, but the chips on the other hand was not. It almost looked like they counted out the chips.

The menu was pretty limited and pricey to say the least. I wished all the food came out at one time, but it didn't, which left awkward gaps in between our meals.

Not sure I'd return again, overall, a pretty average experience.

My wife and I went in for lunch today. We used to go in regularly many years ago when we lived in the area and decided to pop in to see what had become of the place. So glad we did. Staff were brilliant, very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent, well-cooked and nicely presented. We'll definitely return next time we are back that side of town.

Love this place not very busy and friendly staff

Was at the Foresters arms in Oakleigh last night for a meal. The pumpkin salad I had with the pine nuts was just delicious, the pavlova wasn't too bad either. A big shout out to the chef just spot on. The hospitality towards me was very pleasant. All round a big thumbs up guys.

Food was a bit meh. Parma was good size but not the best.

After a long day of work wanting to sit down with a cold beer , ordered an Entree then a Main thinking they will send the entree then the main.Both come out together, when questioned the answer was Ah yeah they came out as entree and main but you can do it!
Seriously?What's worse than 1 cold meal, trying to eat 2 meals going cold and hard. Bad service sorry

Their sucurity guard refused me entry because he mistook stroke symtoms for intoxication. After another patron argued my case he changed his mind. Not a nice feeling. First time I have been singled out because of my disability.
