The best burgers we have had. We were the annoying people that order 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and still our burgers were to die for. My husbands cheeseburger with the homemade beef patty he said he could taste the salt and pepper that had been purposely put in and my grilled chicken burger with the secret sauce is the tastiest grilled chicken burger I have ever had. Even with the gluten free bun I didn't feel like I was missing out in the slightest as it was so yum. Service with a smile. Hope this review encourages someone to come here because it's worth it!

I was very keen for the Guinness pie, which looked delicious, but was so salty it felt like I was drinking sea water. My wife got the parmi which was okay, with a large portion size but over priced, a little chewy and the crumb was quite soggy. I'd give the pub another shot, but tonight I'll be going home disappointed.

Chicken Parma / schnitty were absolutely delicious, staff were also very friendly, would definitely come back again!

This place is the ideal comforting Irish pub. Great hearty meals and a comfortable warm place to relax with mates or in my case by yourself! There is a welcoming outdoor area with bench seats and table with plenty of room and geaters on the roof if it's cold. A curving bar where you won't wait for a drink. They do have live music as well on certain nights. For dinner I had the pork sausages which came with mash and brocolini and also ordered a garden salad. 2nd time I've eaten here and it's always good. I'd your in town do yourself a favour and past. Well worth a visit!

This is my 'go to' pub when doing a stopover between Sydney and Brisbane. It's got a good atmosphere, a good selection of craft and standard beers on tap, and the food is decent. It can get busy on a weekend night, so make sure to book a table if you're in a group.

Thursday night dinner after being on the road. Went for the Chicken Schnitzel with chips, salad and I ordered gravy with it.
The meal was pretty quick, chips were crispy, schnitzel hot and tender and the salad was very fresh.
Gravy was tasty, dressing on the salad was refreshing.
The pint of accompanying Kilskenny hit the spot!
The staff were accessible and helpful and enquired as to my satisfaction of the meal.
Overall a great pub meal, would recommend a visit.
My only slight gripe was that I ran out of gravy, go bigger with the sauce.

Wait time was minimal, meals served at same time.
Table cleared after quite quickly which is excellent.
Staff are wonderful.

The menu is awesome a mixture of usual stuff and Irish pub meals the team were amazing very helpful and nothing was a problem. We had a party of 15 and the team jumped in to help and take photos and even cut up our cake. Can not recommend this place any higher well worth it. ??'?

Good quality pub food. The gravy was free of flavour so I was annoyed that it cost extra (honestly why doesn't the schnitzel come with gravy included) but all in all, a solid meal at a nice clean place. Also, excellent lemon lime and bitters. Made perfectly.

Called for lunch. Meals were first class. Fresh flounder on the specials was great wife had the Guinness pie both meals were great. Staff are friendly and very polite and go out of there way to make sure everything was fine with our meals. Make sure you book a table for lunch or get in early to avoid dissapointment.

The food is okay with reasonable prices. ??'?The decor, especially the carpet is disgusting as it was when we visited last year (no change). ?

Nov 2021: I ordered the stock standard chicken schnitzel. It was such a busy night as well. They checked in on me to let me know if I was okay and the meal was coming. The staff were very courteous. The chicken was cooked to precision. My only regret was I didn't come during the week which is what we used to do when I went to this place in the early 2000's. I will always make a visit here each time I holiday in Port. Good people, good place.

Jan 2022: I went a second time on a week day and had the burger for lunch. A good atmosphere.

Apr 2022: I had the Monday night chicken parmigiana special it was so nice and lots on the plate. The staff were so hopeful. This place is a gem.

This used to be a very good venue. It is still OK but the menu has changed and is nowhere near as good as it was. We holiday here every year but due to Covid we were not here last year. I believe there has been a change of management so perhaps this explains the changes. We will go back but it has lost its spark.

I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon Finnian's tavern while searching for dinner this evening. I say lucky because the establishment is lovely. For my main, I had Finnian's famous chicken schnitzel with a serving of garlic and chive sauce on the side. I see why the schnitzel is renound! The schnitzel was fresh, the chicken breast had obviously been pounded earlier today.

Two things detracting from the score: unfortunately, the chips were a bit too salty and the garlic sauce was a bit too runny. However, the latter could definitely be my own fault as I was absolutely famished so I left the sauce no time to sit and thicken. The ambiance was lovely. Would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a pub feed in the port city!

First of all didn't find the service that great. We sat down and had to find menus by ourselves. Tried changing the table but looks like no one bothers to clean the table. A must try chicken Buffalo wings, best one I had.

This pub has everything you want. Great friendly service, good value meals, Live sports on Fox, TAB and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Also a big thank you to Kristy who called me to say that she found my partner's phone that we left there last night.

Food was quick. Staff were friendly. Decent vibe. Pub didn't show rugby union trans-Tasman games which was disappointing.

Had repeated great pours of mothers milk in Guinness, and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Rated 5 stars, as both these points are surprisingly not common. Mentioned this to a barman in Newcastle, and he also had fond and similar feelings about Finnian's. Will return..

I very much enjoyed my lunch at Finnians.I ordered chicken schnitzel with Diane sauce. I wasnt a huge fan of the sauce - I found it tasted nothing like Diane Sauce but otherwise I have no complaints.Definitely recommend visiting.

Nice food and worth for the price. Nice drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. A live band plays here with some good music. Full of local ladies in the bar.

Great pint of Guinness! Friendly and amenable staff. Food service finishes at 8pm but they were more than happy to take my order with only a minute to spare. Portion sizes was v generous and food was very tasty. Will definitely visit again. Would.consiser making a booking as seems to be a popular spot. Covid aware and follows safety guidelines v well.

Great place to eat with a good environment. Food was delicious especially the lunch special (chicken burger). The food is definetly filling and good for the price. Staff were nice and understanding for situations. Fast food service.

One thing i did notice was that the pasta was way over cooked and too salty :/ Other than that I would recommend.
