I booked a table at the Eaton hotel today to commemorate a one year anniversary. Since my mother died from Covid last year, my family had travelled from all over Queensland to commemorate and celebrate her life. Sadly, we were very disappointed with our experience at Eaton Hill hotel, we ordered our meals received our drinks then were told by the staff that they had no gas. Could we re-order from meals that were cold or microwaveable, half the order changed their choices to oblige,we were told the other half of the tables orders weren't being cooked already ,then the wait staff came back and asked would it be okay; only to come back 10 minutes later and tell us the other half of the families orders could not be cooked either and they would have to cancel the original ordersas they couldn't cook them either, without gas and would they change their order. We were very disappointed. We didn't want half our family to be eating and half not eating,so we asked for a refund and left. It made for a sour taste for the rest of the day and ruined what should've been a memorable occasion. . The manager was very apologetic. He said it was out of his control. Well, Mr Kominski it's very sad when you take our money and tell us, it would be 2 to 3 days before the money would be returned to our accounts; surely you are not that hard up that you need to hold our money to pay your gas bill. This is a very sad reflection on what is supposed to be, Australia's best hotel, clearly Australia's worst!!.
We are very disappointed, six people that will tell another six people which will tell another 60 people, and hopefully another 600 about the worst experience of what should've been a very emotional, but memorable day
And sadly, I have been a loyal customer as I live in Eatons Hill and have dined here often, celebrating 18th birthdays 40th birthdays 60th birthdays and a retirement party.
Unfortunately, the current administration, who I'm sure realise that all major gas accounts are read via satellite, need a new accounts manager;
