(early AM) ,I can how ever comment on how Awesomely Welcomming the staff are & so very attentive & as for the Atmosphere ??'???it's the Grouse, being that 99.999% of the time I'm on my own ,I feel comfortable, safe & well looked after,,,

We came here as a meeting point for our friends and ordered the daily highlighted mocktails. The wait was about 15min to receive our mocktails, which took too long since the venue wasn't that busy at all. The drinks themselves were interesting and a nice change. Service is kind, venue looks clean and neat.

Staff are good. Locals pretty average. Apart from Coopers all the beers are Japanese-owned. Not very Australian I'm sure you'll agree

Staff waching gamblers most put money in the machines and putting signs on them to reserve machines long periods of time to guide favourite people.
Specialy staff member called ivy with fake smile and receiving phone calls for reporting to favourite customers.
Holding machines more than 2 ,3 hours
Not been fair to customers staff under bribes can be proven with video footage.
They put notes with limits to cover up but doesn't apply to favourites.

An icon of the area with recent refurbishment. Great management that actively support local charities like Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Ryde. Plenty of parking just up Rowe Street at the new Council multi storey car park.

Really pleasant and kind customer service made the atmosphere worthwhile, and yet, the atmosphere was quite dreary, dead and dinghy. Thankyou to the servers who were polite and awesome with their conversation, it truly made up for the experience.

Nice place, great ambience. Can host quite a few people. Opposite the hotel, really good korean restaurants that are open late until midnight.

I have received better customer service from a vending machine. Joanna, who seems to be the bar manager of sorts, probably hasn't smiled since the age of 2. She reminds me of the dragon lady at my favourite restaurant except this is the Eastwood Hotel so if you don't get good service why the hell would I come here? Oh yeah the almost $10 VB schooners how could I forget....

I'm a local of Eastwood and have been coming here since the 2000s, it's our "local". It's always been the go to for a drink or easy meal. Management over the years have always treated me and my friends well, and remember us. However current management and bar staff's behaviour on my last visit was appalling. I don't expect to be treated like a VIP, but the management and staff were repeatedly rude to our group and were so passive aggressive to us for no reason. It was almost as if they were jealous of us having fun on a public holiday eve while they had to work. The manager had a vendetta against us, even though the security did not say one word to us and to quote them "there was no problem with you guys". If anything the security have been consistently friendly and do their jobs well, I don't want my review to be a reflection of them or the kitchen staff. This is on the bar and the hotels management. They need a fast lesson in basic customer service and human decency, or new jobs they actually enjoy doing.

I go here often. I went here at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night. 29.January.2023 But a short, black long-haired bartender made a loud noise about finishing. So I respectfully told her not to speak up. She kept staring at me with an angry face until I left. There was no apology. Please train your staff well.

We have been patronising this establishment for almost 2 decades. Through the highs and the lows of the place but won't be coming back.

The current crop of bar staff are an embarrassment to the service industry. As a business owner myself, if I witnessed my staff behaving like this I would seriously reevaluate my entire business and training procedures.

It's almost as if the entire crew wanted jobs at Karen's diner, were rejected and some how ended up here.

Rude, uninterested, passive aggressive just wallowing in self pity and oozing this aura of I don't want to be here.

Jean I'll always love you and your chicken though.

It's 3 pm & a great time (Quiet!) to have a Cocktail (& Prosecco compliments of Publinc!) together after yum cha with music gently playing in the background ?,.... David & Maria

Spacious both indoor and outdoor. Decent selection of beers - could do with more craft beers though not sure if it'll attract the typical Eastwood crowd. Had the Balter Hazy IPA ($11.6 a schooner).

Also has some great food that you can order from Jean's Chilli Chicken. Though mainly Korean food, they do sell some pub food.

Sometimes you have to travel to the city to have your night ruined by gronk bouncers. Really glad to see you can still get that experience out in the suburbs if you find the right place. Having a bored loser try to ruin the night of a bunch of 30 year olds trying to get dinner is why I'm giving this my highest rating ever. Highly recommend

I didn't expect it to be vibrant on a Tuesday evening, but it was! Got to have a cider with my uni group, and I actually enjoyed it even with the alcohol. The staff were super friendly too.

Pretty solid place. Simple mixed drinks are good. Pretty good drinking area. Pokies den clean, good size with an ok range of machines. Bathrooms clean. All for a good price. A decent place for some drinks after dinner. However I probably wouldn't order another cocktail as not quite up to scratch.

Spacious but crowded bar. They have dinning and casual hangout areas.
Very crowded Saturday night before 10pm. Quite empty later at night.
Jugs can be quite pricey. About 30-40ish per jug. Slightly larger jug size than other bars. Many alcoholic drink options.
There security guards going around monitoring people. It was a good experience when the guards constantly comes around to tables staring at people.

April 2022: Jean's is a Korean fusion joint inside Eastwood Hotel. had a great 320g wagyu steak $24.90. Cooked well and to spec, crunchy fries and salad leaves were complimentary. Generous portions, food is cooked to order.
Guy at the counter is not the smiley type but he was helpful. Nice venue and great prices. Clean tables.
There are two separate counters, one for drinks and one for food, quite inconvenient and a waste of time. It's a bar so it's loud. Would come back, there's not many good steak places around this area at these kind of prices.

Bar staff attempted to pick me up, then accused me of harassment when didnt work out for her. Recieved a ban from licencee despite their acknowledgement their had not been a single otherwise recorded, reported or witnessed account of this type of behavioir from me ever taking place.

One bar manager even stated "that I had always treated staff well", however, I can no longer attend what was a decent local that i had been frequenting for the past 4 years or even enjoy anymore of Jean's chilli chicken.

I totally respect duty of care and appore this type of behaviour but comes a time accusations need to be weighted with some evidence before such actions are taken.

This place has changed so much over the years and it looks great now! Love the seating and still a good place to go with mates and the family. The beers pair so well with Jeans chicken, lip smacking as always.

Friendly service, fresh beer, and a comfortable outdoor (and under cover) beer garden. What's not to love. Cheers ?

Great beer range and decor lot of ppl during the weekend

Jeans chilli chicken is our local favourite. The family goes there once a week. The parents share Jean's amazing chilli chicken and the kids share a huge chicken Schnitzel. The chilli chicken is quite hot but very addictive. We highly recommend it

Nice place and atmosphere. But the food is below average, largely fried and oily. No real clean food options.

Delicious pickled radish with sweet after tones. The self serve pasta is also fantastic after a meal - creamy rich and tasty.

Chicken is a perfect heat level, spicy but not too spicy that you have to stop eating. So Good!!

Very friendly and helpful bar staff. Good atmosphere for a pub near the station. Would love to come back again.

Food was fabulous, they sell those fantastic Korean food and when they express their meaning caution spicy as!! They meant that!
Would return for more of those delicious food and beverages

Jeans Chilli Chicken... All I can say is you have to go, 100% you will not be disappointed!! Maybe book ahead as usually full capacity most nights.

Since my last visit the place deserves more stars for sure. It's a classy place that attracts classy people most of the time. Delicious restaurant and great service.
